Haleckian Bureau of Criminal Investigation

Postby Haleck » Sun Jan 05, 2020 10:56 am

The Bureau of Criminal Investigation, or BCI, is the oldest and primary investigative department of Haleck. Founded in 1910 to enforce the progressive then-President Theodore Gibson's reforms in the government, and to root out corruption among civil service. Since their original role as an internal investigations force, their roles have been supplemented to serve as the primary narcotics investigations, as
well as handling important investigations, with the National Police being the primary enforcer of the laws. The Bureau works with the National Police's Investigative Division often.

Among utilizing regular unmarked cars, the bureau uses marked Haleckian Motors MPLTs, or MultiPurpose Light Trucks, which, as in most government departments, especially the National Police, are military surplus.

Seen with the marked MPLTs, are some suited Special Agents of the BCI.

Thank you. That's the result of many nights eating aspirin and antiacid to figure out a few of those little tricks...and watching Tutorials till my eyes ached...so knowing peoip0lke appreciate the effort helps greatly.

I did a thing.

It's actually just a heavy edit/redrawing of an M1916 thingy I made a few months ago. The barrel and magazine and sites are all new. The stock and receiver aren't, but they have been reshaded and edited.

I'm a fan of the integral wooden magwell foregrip aesthetic. It's a very interesting-looking gun, although I'm having trouble figuring out if there's some sort of proportional weirdness in play or if this is just an illusion brought on by the exotic configuration.

The proportions are weird to me as well, though I can't quite think about how to fix it without changing the gun too much.

Though, it was just something I wanted to make on a whim, and I'm not quite as hung up on it as other ones I've done.

Looks to me like it's a full powered rifle cartridge weapon with a SMG length barrel.

FD scale Gundam based mech... Mainly because the RP that this is in runs on anime tech and I can.

No mounted weapons but there's a set of jump jets on the back and the mech can pick up a number of high caliber weapons interchangeably. It's a bit smaller than some mech franchises have theirs, at about 22 feet. But that's partly because there's a bigger emphasis on speed here and it's meant to be deployed via air.

Coinage from Janavaar, a nation I made up in a P2TM RP that one of my OC's is from.

While the Janavar Capital is a highly developed and modern fortress city, where transactions are made with cards and digital currency, the vast county beyond The Capital's walls remains largely undeveloped and backwards. Barter and the use of physical currency is still common, and the state, monasteries, and guilds help to keep coins circulated in Janavaar bazaars and junctions.

I always liked mecha where the mechs were bigger than power armour, but not building-sized like Gundams or Eva's - like a cozy middle ground.

I always like maps like these, but I never have the patience or know-how to make them. This one looks really nice, however; the mountains/elevation look like they'd be a lot easier to draw out than other methods I've seen.

Mind if I take some tips from this map for if/when I improve on my own?

Go ahead! It's influenced from some people in my region and on other art forums in the first place anyway.

Something I would reccomend trying is starting with highest elevation and working backwards. I didn't do that for this map and had to go back and fix the scale when I made things too small because of it. Also don't be afraid to scrap a map and then start drawing the exact same one.

So I always used to see these in the past (Especially when Imerita and that other guy with the Victorian type of country was here, forgot how to spell that it's been so long.)

But can someone tell em what these were called, been looking into doing this myself but I always wondered where these came from, or if they were all just self done.
