It's from an AU, but the Amur class is quite real.

And even its design sketches and proposals use open propellers, not shrouded ones.

The Soviets and Russians intentionally chose open propellers over shrouded ones for their submarines and have only recently begun considering otherwise with Borei, even though Yasen and Lada retain open propellers. Diesel-electrics do not benefit from shrouded propulsors to the same degree as nuclear submarines anyway, and their drawbacks are bit more pronounced. Which is why even Western diesel-electrics have steered clear of them for the most part even though the technology is more more widely developed in the West.

Doodle a Space Destroyer the other day. Posted it on the NSDesigners discord but figured I may as well post it here as well. Took some inspiration from a ship Novorden posted recently there.

Echo Class destroyer. The main combatant class of the Eridanian Defense Fleet. Incapable of interstellar flight, the Echo Class is designed for ship to ship combat with the main line of battle. Armament is 32 Torpedoes in (8 each in 4 bays) , 4 fixed forward faxing mass drivers firing guided rounds and 8 Dual Purpose rail gun turrets in 4 twin turrets. The Echo class is outclassed everywhere from weapons to delta-v to endurance by the Avenger Class. The class's saving grace was its simple construction, redundancy and most surprisingly to its crews the dual purpose gun turrets. The torpedoes were easily destroyed by an Avenger's Laser Batteries and DIRCM rendered the guided rounds of the Echo's main battery of mas driver ineffective, but the small rapid fire dual purpose guns were able to deal significant, albeit usually nonfatal, damage should an Avenger allow an Echo to get within effective gun range. By the end of the war it was the rare human cruiser which did not carry the scars from such an encounter.

I go for hard scifi (Except for ships having engines with lol-thrust/isp) but I'll have to pass on purgatory as I'm already going to hell for other reasons.

I gave a small amount of thought to SC's "brigs" and decided they should just be a radiator stapled to a hull or something. Probably diamond shaped so I can be annoying like I did with Zenith Star.
