Yea... that thing. For a start the massive, and I mean massive (seriously WTH? Are you trying to pull a Christies but on the outside?) suspension is going to be an easy target for any enemy AT weapon or even infantry explosives. And unlike most tanks in your case immobilized is as good as dead since you can't bring the main gun to bear. So yes, the FCM 36 can indeed defeat your vehicle simply by shooting out its suspension and than starving you out.

How many gunners do you know that can rapidly shoot several small targets with a short low velocity gun using a 1x sight?

Even if that did happen, it can't even penetrate the turret so it would just get torn to bits by the 15mm.

Given that the gun in question is a relatively small weapon that uses relatively light to handle shells probably plenty. After all, they don't need to do much to disable your suspension. A single shot at one of those bogies would do to ruin your ability to steer precisely enough to aim. Come to think of it I am not sure you could do that anyway with that suspension layout. And that's for the FCM 36.

If you really run out of luck you might run into something like the French 25mm which was issued out to all units, even those that fielded tanks and than you're royally screwed. Than again anyone that runs into that is screwed.

Even if that did happen, it can't even penetrate the turret so it would just get torn to bits by the 15mm.

Given that the thing had 40mm armor at places and was overall heavily sloped I would not bet money on that.

No idea what this means

A single shot at one of those bogies

Where on the bogie? What kind of damage? It's a tiny shell with less than 30mm of penetration hitting pretty substantial piece of steel. It wouldn't be disabling a bogie without hitting the springs themselves, which even then doesn't make the wheels useless, because of the bump stops keeping the arms rigid if the suspension sags that far.

After all, they don't need to do much to disable your suspension. A single shot at one of those bogies would do to ruin your ability to steer precisely enough to aim. Come to think of it I am not sure you could do that anyway with that suspension layout. And that's for the FCM 36.

The B1 could aim because of its precise transmission. Nothing to do with its suspension. On top of that mine has a dedicated gunner with a sight and elevation control seated right behind the driver. Taking out one or two suspension arms isn't going to affect its ability to aim by much.

If you really run out of luck you might run into something like the French 25mm which was issued out to all units, even those that fielded tanks and than you're royally screwed. Than again anyone that runs into that is screwed.

40mm side armour against 40mm of penetration against flat steel isn't royally screwed. I could even put on 1cm sideskirts on as a result of losses and the risk would be reduced to practically zero.

Not sure why I'm fighting the French though

Given that the thing had 40mm armor at places and was overall heavily sloped I would not bet money on that.

40mm plates that are most likely just the driver's upper hatch and the mantlet. Everywhere else is 20mm or less, with the sloping being negated depending on the range by the 15mm being higher up.

From the direct front and other places that are angled in relation to the gun, obviously. But it's not going to resist much when the attacking gun has a height or angle advantage. Note how I said depending on the range. The closer it is, the flatter the armour for the 15mm.

Shouldn't even be an issue either way anyway. It's not like it would disable mine in any way, leading to it getting blown the fuck up by the 105.

We are talking about a tank that has up to 40mm armor and all heavily sloped. 15mm is not going to penetrate anything other than maybe the extreme rear or bottom hull.
Also, have you seen the thing? Flat it is not.

A 37mm gun should easily be able to disable your suspension. Again. And once that's done you can't turn to engage it.

So your thing is once again as high up as a Maus. Haven't we already gone over how excessive height is a lethal liability?

A trashy Interwar AP round wouldn't be able to kill it.

Even 14.5x114mm wouldn't.

I'm not going back to quote everything again when it's right there for you to read. No, broken suspension doesn't stop tanks from moving and turning. No, a short 37mm with bad performance won't magically take out suspension like it's nothing.

inb4 you repeat this again

I highly doubt 20mm plates with 25-40mm of effective thickness would protect much against 45mm+ penetration

There is no template, scale is 1px:1cm. You don't need photoshop, korva and others manage just fine with ms paint.
