I'm just going to make it a six wheeled apc. One on. Each side is front and two on each side in back.

List of things that make people quit lineart:

1) fucking pixels
2) tank tracks
3) realising they're wasting their lives, stopping, and getting a girlfriend instead

What concerns me is my inability to get the suspension right, i am basically phobic of what will happen when I actually draw the track.

I genuinely do not understand why people think drawing tracks is difficult. It really, really, really is NOT.
Purpelia does not reflect my actual world views. In fact, the vast majority of Purpelian cannon is meant to shock and thus deliberately insane. I just like playing with the idea of a country of madmen utterly convinced that everyone else are the barbarians. So play along or not but don't ever think it's for real.

Big ol gatehouse. No towers flanking it cause fuck that I'm lazy

Image
Image

Attacking the first gate you're getting hit by arrows and rocks from the machicolations above you. If you get through there you're in the first killing zone, where you'll be getting hit from the battlement just behind the archway, two flanking walls and even the main wall, as well being fired on from each of the four towers and through arrows slits in the second gate's wall. Very nasty.

If you were to then get through the second gate, before that ideally the defenders on that small battlement just behind the archway would retreat down the stairs and past the third gate. The defenders on the two front towers could either hold their ground using the three flights of stairs or also retreat through the third gate. The attackers would be at no advantage if they took the towers, as their walls and staircases provide very little protection against the two rear towers. I might add small drawbridges between the tops of the front and rear towers, so that the defenders on the front ones can still retreat if the second gate is suddenly breached, cutting them off.

In the third killing zone you would still be getting hit by the flanking walls, the main wall, the two rear towers and through more arrow slits in the gate's wall and in the base of the front towers accessible through archways behind the walls between the front and rear towers. After the third gate the stairs to the rear towers, flanking walls and main wall are accessible.

Not the best layout by any means but it gets the job done with three adequate levels of defense. Or four levels if you count the ditch and auxiliary wall which could be supplemented with stakes and/or barricades.
