PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF MAWANI

Mawani does indeed have bomb shelters.

Mostly conventional, many bomb shelters were constructed by the government and large ones were usually built to serve a neighbourhood in major cities like the capital, Sirte. All cities are equipped with bomb shelters and even small towns and villages too, albeit the quality differs between village and major city. Sirte is the only city to house a nuclear shelter, a giant shelter built deep underground under the Green Mosque, where the president resides.

Construction for nuclear shelters in more major cities is currently underway.

There are several special shelters in each regional capital of the PRHS. However, since they were built in the 60s, when the population was very low, the shelters are too small to shelter everyone.

Many of our larger cities have sub-street shelters - underground shelters reinforced with crystal strand concrete able to withstand blasts of up to 17 megatons. Most of them were retrofitted from old subway tunnels or similar structures.

There are also much larger and more well-equipped shelters in the countryside which are usually reserved for high-level government figures.

A Central Emergency Complex is a type of underground network of tunnels and shelters located beneath the People's Republic of Zhouran for the purpose of military defense. First created in early 1969 and maintained by the Ministry of National Emergency of the People's Republic of Zhouran, the shelters were designed to accommodate and protect the inhabitants of the nation while providing a defensive refuge.

Each network contains several tunnels with roads that connect to different shelters, while each shelter has a small apartment, a medical facility, a communication center, a power station, ventilation systems, heating and cooling systems, water supply, and thick blast doors.

Depending on their size, a central emergency complex can house several thousands of people.

There are bomb shelters all over Kiravia, ranging from large, public undertakings built into the subway tunnels of major cities to burrows dug by individual families in their backyards that can double as a pantry or a poor man's guesthouse when there isn't a nuclear threat on the horizon. Their popularity stems from a mix of classic Kiravian paranoia, early promotion efforts by the old Kirosocialist government to prepare the nation for possible nuclear threats, and later fears among the populace that the Kirosocialists might deploy chemical weapons against them.

Many Kiravian bomb shelters, particularly those belonging to middle- and upper-class households, are quite well-appointed, with comfortable furnishings, sun lamps that are probably better than actually being outside on our gloomy island continent, and systems for water reclamation. Some families rent out their bunkers to boarders or even live full-time in their bunkers while converting their houses into b-n-bs. Kiravian bunkers are stocked with foods that, for better or for worse, aren't altogether different from what Kiravians eat when they aren't hiding from thermonuclear fallout, including pakra (freeze-dried potato), whiskey, potato flakes, beef jerky, venison jerky, more whiskey, turkey jerky, kippers, dried and cured sausages, even more whiskey, rolled oats and barley, enriched hardtack, coffee, and alkaline noodles.

Every school in the nation is both a conventional and nuclear bomb shelter, and they are open to all citizens. There is also other shelters for citizens in important government buildings, and the government has several shelters in undisclosed locations. It is even rumored that Commander Hunter Brown has a shelter under his own home.

We have both nuclear and conventional bomb shelters.
Their purpose is to ensure safety for a portion of civilians as well as continuity of government in case of a nuclear attack, or attacks from any other significant weapons of mass destruction. This includes biological and chemical threats.

A massive, hardened underground complex has been in development since 1998. If completed, this facility will one day be able to house 7,000 people (with extra capacity and resources for another 200 only if necessary). What makes this bunker complex special, and therefore extremely difficult to perfect, is that it is intended to sustain it's population underground indefinitely. It will be equipped with air and water recycling systems. For food, advanced hydroponics and quarters for livestock. The highest ranking military personnel and politicians, as well as their families, will have access to a wide variety of amenities including a cafeteria, living quarters, hospital, salon/barber shop, game room, movie theatre, and a gym. The military staff will have a command center, garage, and hangar available. This is just to name a few things that are planned for this project.

Currently we use an underground complex at Parker Air Force Base for the presidential bunker. It can house 180 people for a maximum of four years.

A facility only known as "Ranch Zero" is home to a hermetically sealed surface level compound equipped with multiple laboratories to provide possible cures for biological attacks and/or disasters. There is an underground bunker at this location in case of a subsequent nuclear strike, though it is mainly intended for the protection of staff, not for conducting or safeguarding research. At least 60 people can use both the bunker and compound for five years.

The Rio Hondo Alternate High Command Center (RHAHCC), or simply Rio Hondo, acts as the military's underground headquarters. The capacity and longevity of this location is classified.

The Torrance Metro is 95 meters under the city and, much like North Korea's deeper (110 meters) Pyongyang Metro, can double as a bomb shelter for the capital's citizens. With military aid, these shelters can keep a population underground for two years.

Congress and the Syncretic Nationalist Party use the Ashworth Gate bunker at Ashworth Pass. They can stay here for a maximum of six years.

Nuclear bomb shelters are located in every major city and a number of them are located in the countryside. Munich, the capital, has 5 bomb shelters due to the population size. 10 in total are located in the countryside. Each shelter is designed ideally to hold 2,500 people, but the number can be stretched to 2,700 before problems are encountered. The shelters were built by the government after a nation launched ICBMs at a neighboring nation. They are designed to be self-sustained for up to 320 years.

They exist in subway stations, or can be placed there in an emergency. Mostly they are prefab units stored in warehouses across a colony for use in emergencies.
The United Colonies of Earth exists:
to encourage settlement of all habitable worlds in the Galaxy and perhaps the Universe by the human race;
to ensure that human rights are respected, with force if necessary, and that all nations recognize the inevitable and unalienable rights of all human beings regardless of their individual and harmless differences, or Idiosyncrasies;
to represent the interests of all humankind to other sapient species;
to protect all humanity and its’ colonies from unneeded violence or danger;
to promote technological advancement and scientific achievement for the happiness, knowledge and welfare of all humans;
and to facilitate cooperation in the spheres of law, transportation, communication, and measurement between nation-states.

Alkovansk cities have a long history of being host to complex networks of tunnels and cellars. Around 1909, due to fears of attack from outsiders, bunkers were constructed below these, and after 1945 most cities took great efforts to refurbish these to withstand nuclear radiation (many were far enough underground for this not to be an issue anyways, but fears still persisted). Much construction today is as much underground as it is above ground, especially in areas with older and more historical buildings, such as Althafen or the Bohemian Quarter, where new housing complexes are being built entirely underground.

Sidhae prefer their own homes to be designed like bomb/fallout shelters. It's simply a necessity for a militaristic civilization with many enemies.

In the cities, even ordinary buildings are designed to be bombardment-resistant and easily-defendable in times of war. A typical habitation block is strong enough to comfortably withstand a nearby nuclear explosion, only a direct hit or a near miss capable of destroying it. The subterranean levels of Imperial cities are further reinforced against orbital bombardment, the majority of urban industry being located underground so that even levelling the city to the ground on the surface will do little to impair it's ability to wage war and produce the necessary supplies.

More conventional communal shelters are located in smaller colonial settlements, which do not yet have the infrastructure or the need to construct the dwellings themselves as self-contained fortresses.

Most large buildings built after WW2 have air attack shelters, in case we are bombed by the Allies. We also have loud warning sirens in every city.

Does your nation have bomb shelters,for conventional weapons or otherwise?
Yes.

If you have, describe why your country has them (or it)

The imperial state of novakia does have bomb shelters,most of the ones that protect against nuclear bombardment are in the novakian highlands.
Additionally,the NCM (Novakai City Metro) has been reinforced and prepared for nuclear bombardment.
Finally,against conventional bombing,most homes/buildings have a functional bomb shelter in the form of the basement,which is usually reinforced (This is commonplace in novakia due to the two civil wars that have been fought in the nation,along with the constant threat of a russian/polish invasion.)

The Imperial government has released instructions and materials for backyard bomb shelters, but they have seen little use as Aldina is not currently at war.

The Imperial Senate Building has a complex of tunnels underneath it meant to serve as a bomb shelter for vital components of the Imperial government, should Aldin City come under shelling or bombing attack.
