After colonisation the country became deeply Catholic and !notItalian speaking. Country is today roughly split between white !notItalian speaking settlers, natives who continue their traditions and those of mixed !notItalian-native descent.

National Overview: Pre-colonial Marirana was the home of a large, ancient !notAztec civilisation before being colonised by !notItalians in the 16th-17th century. In the early 1800's republicans in Marirana led a successful independence war with the establishment of a federal republic, but the republic collapsed after ~3 years to be replaced with a reactionary monarchy. The monarchy was overthrown in 1905 by republicans, but political instability led to a military government between 1921-54, which was rapidly anti-communist and somewhat aligned with the DITO (although its status as a dictatorship has meant that was never accepted into the DITO). 1954-70 saw a weak democracy function until 1970 when the military took over again triggering a leftist insurgency before it was deposed peacefully in 1987, although the communist insurgency continues in some parts of the country. Since then Marirana has been a liberal democracy, joining the DITO proper in 1988. A leftist administration from 1999-2011 attempted to cool ties with the QTO, but the election of rightists in 2011 has meant that Marirana has been staunchly supportive of the DITO.

Currently the main political forces in Marirana are the United National Party (right-wing; liberal conservative) the Christian Democratic Party (centrist; social conservative, economic interventionist) and the Popular Socialist Alliance (left wing; democratic socialist). The current president is from the United National Party; however, the current Parliamentary Assembly (the unicameral legislature) and Prime Minister comes from a centre-left coalition led by the Popular Socialist Alliance, creating a system of cohabitation. The country's GDP is focused on industry, logging, mining (especially of bauxite and gold), crude oil and coffee being considered a newly industrialised country - nevertheless, inequality is very high with GDP per capita being in the range of $16,000-18,000.

The only thing to note, I would assume your leftist administration would cool ties more with CSS, the Leftist Bloc run by Kaxakh, rather than QTO, which is a Pan-Coian Bloc made up of both right-wing and left-wing nations, unless your intent was the leftist administration looking into Coian options.

I was more thinking it would improving relations in the name of South-South Cooperation/anti-imperialism, but doing it with the CSS instead would be fine.

As long as there was a communist insurgency, even if only operating in name, the CSS wouldn't do any reconciliation.

Oh I actually quite like the sound of that. QTO can be leftist at times as well, so the common leftism and anti-North (known in the North as the East, for ultimate confusion : P) sentiments could bring the two.

Granted, by joining the Freemocacy Club detente can only get you so far. But hey, people and nations come and go : P

Official Name: Third Republic of Thurne
Shortened Name: Thurne, Third Republic.
Requested Location: White negative space bordered by PRC, on the Arucian Sea. No islands, just the mainland portion.
RP Population: 42 million.
Culture and Ethnicity: Closest that could be classified would be Northern European socialist democracies, such as Denmark or Norway. Ethnically Arcos would be closest to identify as Northern Germans, or even Classical Prussians. This being said, from a fiscal point of view they are decidedly post-colonial corporate imperialists, and look to expand the influence of state and crown corporations as far as possible within the legal limits. Heavily environmentally protective, they seek to ensure that the state has a large amount of parks and wildlife for its citizens to enjoy. The language equivalent would be German, however conversational English is extremely common.

A few short points:

• Ethnic makeup is approximately three quarters white, rest mixed, mostly Indian/Punjab heritage.
• Age 18-22 conscripted service can provide citizenship. Military or other forms of national service can help with citizenship (going to school paid for by the government to become a nurse/doctor, and then signing an X year contract, which once signed grants citizenship).
• Citizens that have a child do not grant it 'Citizen' status, it must be earned.
• Citizenship is not based on race, sex, orientation, political views, or economic status.
• Salam is discriminated against due to its views on same-sex couples and in more extreme forms, the treatment of women

National Overview: The general political ideology of the Third Republic is one that centers around the Rule of Law. Courts and judges have an extremely large amount of opinion and sway within the Third Republic, to the point where at times the judiciary branch and legislative have almost begun a state of civil war over political differences. All politicians are members of the same party, however those that wish to remain independent and run for office are free to do so, but may not affiliate or create another opposing political party. Overall, the state is run by Citizens (Bürger), those that have given some form of national service, or have passed the citizenship test after years of extensive study. Concurrent to this, Residents (Einwohner) live and work with much the same rights, if not any political say from the state.

So here it is, my application, several months in the making. My computer broke so im writing this entire application on mobile, have mercy dear friends.

Also, i have no idea where my preferred location is on the map relative to the geography. For all i know, i put my spain/portugal analogue in the middle of the Desert.

Culture: Sopuertan culture is a lively mix of European Spanish and portuguese traditions with a unique twist befitting a former colony. Perhaps the most puzzleing of all Sopuertan ideologies is their admiration of all things Euclean. Luxury Euclean goods are among the most hotly desired items in the republic. Betraying their seemingly festive culture, Sopuertan politics is fiercely conservative and nationalist. The most important event in the entire year for Sopuertans is "le nota fue" or "the night of fire". In this centuries old tradition people of all ages bear the national colors of Crimson and Yellow, running wildly through the streets and waving sparklers all the way. In the capitol city Castalon, the mob will make its way to the Old Governor's palace. Rushing past the ceremonial guards, the mobs will climb the fence to the massive palace garden and let the rest of their fellows in. After breaching the Royal garden, the mob spends the rest of the night drinking, eating, and merrymaking to their hearts content. TL;DR Right Wing Fiesta Spaniard Colonists

National Overview Sopuertan politics and culture exist in an uneasy duality with each other. A fiscally and governmentally conservative culture, attempting to balance itself out with a lively and nationalistic people. Any citizens that do not agree with the ideologies of the conservative National Party are welcome to form their own or join another at their own leisure. The unionized workers party and liberal Ratze party both sport considerable followings, expecially in the ubranized region of Cayillo to the south. The northern region of Sopuerta (from which the country derives it's shorthand name) has long been a reliable exporter of minerals such as Gold and Coal. The southern region of Cayillo on the other hand has long been a retreat for the wealthy and powerful, its glamorous beaches and scenic cities attracting aristocrats the world over. Since it was first colonized, some of the worlds finest wines and luxury goods have flowed like a sweet river from the shining shores of Cayillo. This unique juxtaposition has existed since the nation existed two separate Euclean colonies, though miraculously this competition has rarely mounted to anything more than a heated game between each regions beloved Futbol teams. Sopuerta has also had a checkered past when it comes to illegal drug activity within its borders. The Northern region is sparsely populated, providing an irresistible opportunity to the wealthy "Sangre Negro" Cartel. Many from the outside have joked that the only people more ruthless than the Cartel are the Narcs. Stoic men in dark grey overcoats who show up in the dead of the night to execute corrupt policemen, smugglers, and growers in disgustingly creative ways.

looks good, only issue i have is "Government Type: Democratic-Republican". could you be a tad more descriptive? is it federal, unitary, confederal or something else? is it presidential, parliamentary or something else? is it constitutional or not (it most likely will be).

4) Following on from that, the only way to get anything Nordic onto Coius in the first place would be via being a former Raglan (:notScandanavian:) colony so the majority of your country should probably be natives, there wouldn't be any :notGermans: (Weranics) and probably few migrants from elsewhere because, y'know, former colony

1) You don't have to base your Kylaris nation in any way, shape or form off the NS nation. It's a completely standalone thing.

3/4) :notEurope: is Euclea, which is full although some of coloured areas are NPCs. Give me the three letter codes and I can say whether or not they're NPCs.
