ATHENAPOLIS, CAROLINA STATE (VICTORIALA) - After over three decades of relative diplomatic silence, the Council of the Commonwealth has now broken the ice by the signing of the Triofan Accords yesterday in Cvecagrad. The Triofan Accords, named after the Continent Victoriala is founded upon, is a common treaty to further the cooperation with the Syncretic Combine and the Commonwealth of Victoriala, along with their respective nations under their sphere. Along with the Combine and the Commonwealth, other signatories have entered the centerstage as well, such as the Kingdom of Tamsien, United Federative Republic of China, and the Sovereign Filipino Republic.

The signing of the treaty is regarded as a “strengthening of longtime friendship” between Synkomese and Victorialan governments, and is expected by the Victorialan delegation, particularly Her Excellency of Renovaire, Arielle Drohtes, as the “further solidification of our unwavering friendship and siblinghood with kindred spirits from Cvecagrad.” The Synkomese representative, Zeljko Mayakovsky, also commented on the treaty’s signing as a “further binding of two great nations in the spirit of synergy”.

According to official spokespersons for the Council of the Commonwealth, the Triofan Accords outline basic military, trade and economic mutual benefits upon each other's spheres, such as free and protected trade, potential joint research for new arms and military cooperation. Other sources, however note that La Société involvement on the treaty as well, a supposed special/secret signatory. The current administrator, Arya Kaistiras, has denied such allegations through Punch, saying that the Society for Liberty and Harmony “does not seek to be a power player and first and foremost under the sovereign power of the Commonwealth’s civil government”.

The treaty is currently effective today.

Nueva Democracia candidate Pelo Arturion might become the youngest president in Cistranese history

RUNASOJO, CISTRANO (VICTORIALA) - History might be made for the current century in Cistranese politics as the youngest candidate of Cistrano's presidency, Pelo Arturion and his party, New Democracy (Nueva Democracia, ND) has been making rounds and gaining popularity after various surveys in the third quarter has put him and ND at the top of the lists.

The survey agency TriofanPulse listed New Democracy at second place by count of 43.77% of the preferential survey, next to the National Centrists at 48.87%. The agency La Lune has listed the ND as first place by count of 45.35%, while the agency Arpeggia puts the ND in the same place at 47.55%. The Illuminator, under cooperation with Cistrano's El Heraldo National has done a similar preferential survey, putting the ND and candidate Pelo Arturion at first place by about 48.28% as their "preferred vote". Various Cistranese were asked in our survey on why they chose Pelo Arturion and the New Democracy party as well.

"He's stern and steadfast, and his age makes it show that he means business." Said salesman Iñigo Peron. "He spoke loudly against many grievances of the Cistranese and advocated great alternatives."

"Arturion is a good breather for the nation at large." says Kassak Karopwai, fruit dealer. "Unlike those other politicians who say this and that, Arturion has a plan."

"The Nueva Democracia is the new voice for the Victorialan left", says Buencamino Palabra, professor. "The Grand Senate has been grounded in discourse and corruption for long that it has forgotten the matters of the country. Arturion's idealist and very outspoken character should be the one to shake up the old government up to stop its uptightness and ideological arguments and get working."

The ND, according to Cistranese sources were grateful for the newfound support and their rise in popularity. Maria Anhipayas, spokesperson for the ND wishes that the survey results "reflect what will happen in the elections".

Pelo Arturion has been gaining attention not only in Cistranese, but also throughout Triofan politics not only for his age, but his charisma and outspokenness as well, which he calls "democratic activism". Graduated in Esperanza Polytechnic University majoring in Public Administration and minor in Marketing, Pelo gained attention in politics as a major participant in activist and militant demonstrations in the early 2010s, especially in 2014's Ballera Protests. Since his entrance into the presidential race, Arturion has attacked major politicians and spoke against the current state of Cistrano's government, especially current president Vitorino Peranza against his "aggressive militsrization". Due to this, he has been called the "Ron Friedrich of the Left" by observers.

Pelo Arturion's planned policies, if he wins, include increased participation within the wider Commonwealth, a focus on alternative energies and local businesses, and the gradual decrease of taxes in favor of revitalizing state-owned businesses in competition.

The Cistranese General Elections shall begin June 24.

FOURINTERNS, ANTIFA CLASH IN ZIEGENPLATZ
Separate rallies in Belgria devolve into riot, police full force

MARGARETENSBORG, BELGRIA (VICTORIALA) - Two separate rallies during the Crowned Lion Day in Belgria erupted into a full brawl after the two converged in a crossroads in the city of Ziegenplatz, according to Der Teuternische. The affray was reported to be between the reactionary authoritarian Vierte Internationalist Partei für das Vaterland and the local Zieganplatz chapter of the opposing Antifascistische Aktion Partei. The riot lasted for about an hour, local authorities told the Der Teuternische.

The brawl supposedly began after the two parties met at the crossroads at Markus IV avenue, who was staging their own respective rallies. The two marches suddenly stopped once they saw each other, in which people from either side of the rallies confronted the other, becoming a ground of heated argument before devolving into a full on fight. About 40 individuals are injured, about 18 among them Antifa, 16 among them Fourinterns, and the remainder 6 being civilians. Due to the sheer size of the riot, local Ziegenplatz police have instituted a full force apprehension among the brawlers. About 50 people were arrested for disruption of urban peace, physical assault and damage to property.

"It's like a warzone out there," one witness said. "People were incredibly angry, we have to keep inside the building for an hour. Everyone was beating up each other, smoke cans everywhere, it's scary."

"Because of this, we might need to heighten measures in city security to prevent something like this to happen." Said police officer Willem Knauth, "As of late, the incident has caused much damage to a lot of things, public or private property. The parties involved with this must take full responsibility of their actions."

The Antifascists and Fourth Internationalists have accused each other of starting the incident. The official website of the Antifascistische Aktion Partei has stated that the Vierte Internationalist Partei für das Vaterland has "done everything in their power to provoke us during our peaceful march against their horrid ideology". The VIPV has said otherwise, stating in a public interview that the AAP started the fight by confronting them at the start of the incident.

The city government of Ziegenplatz has issued a preliminary one-week ban of political rallies, and has called on the leaders of the local chapters of the parties involved into question. It is expected that their subsequent arrests shall be done by tommorow.

PRIMITIVE TRIBE FOUND IN NATAJA
First emergent uncontacted ethnic group in 10 years

NATAJA RAJA (PACIFIC) - An until-recently uncontacted ethnic group in the Aramuyi island in the Natajan realm was discovered after what was supposed to be a simple island trek.

The discovery was made originally by a group of Belgrish tourists led by Elsa Österheim, who were island hopping. Once they reached the Aramuyi island (about 500 km off the mainland), they decided to explore the area and venture within the island. When they got further in, they met a hunting band of said group. Österheim, an anthropologist by trade, managed to facilitate dialogue and be friendly with the natives.

The recently discovered ethnic group, temporarily called "Payamarung" (Natajan word meaning "island dweller") by the Natajan authorities, is a hunter-gatherer culture that solely resides within the Aramuyi island. Their settlement, consisting of treehouse dwellings and some huts within the forest, are made up of rainwood and thatch made out of coconut and umbrella palms. Their diet, according to Österheim, was birds, eggs, tubers, water spinach, frogs and river fish. Their language is part of the Austronesian language family.

The Paramuyi are regarded by Österheim and her colleagues as "peaceful, once you try to understand them".

"For the most part, they're friendly, they're hospitable, they're curious, and they're eager to learn. It was really surprising, since we thought they would attack us like the Sentinelese would do. But I am grateful it was the opposite. With the fact that this island has been virtually untouched for a long time, there's certainly a great deal of question why they weren't hostile." Said Elsa Österheim to the Philippine Standard.

The Natajan government congratulated Österheim and his group for the discovery and has since announced special procedures to facilitate the Paramuyi and learn more from their culture.

Bill Gates is running for president, and he's the thematic synthesis of the once expected rivals of the elections.

BERLIN, GERMAN CONFEDERATION (ATLANTIC) - The 60-year old former CEO and co-founder of Microsoft has generated a lot of buzz worldwide after the renowned philantrophic businessman has announced a campaign to run for president with a new party in tow (The Progressive Party, which claims to be the new iteration of the Rooseveltian Bull Moose Party of yore). This surprise is very much alive even out of the U.S of A, with countless twitter posts, tumblr posts and just countless releases of content having this mixed feelings of the new candidate even in the Commonwealth. Most of the notable ones among them were simple, neutral observations such as how Gates was "Taken more seriously than Trump" at the initial start of his campaign, and the similarities of his advocacies to Bernie Sanders.

Which brings us to our topic. There's much reaction with much vigour and excitement when Bill Gates first announced his campaign. In fact, his campaign website generated a hell of a lot traffic than before. Most likely because the marginalized and the pitying are in need of a voice. Ever since the downfall of Bernie to Hillary's concession, the "lazy and overbearing" generation of today and many of the marginalized groups, particularly the blacks have felt an ambivalence, a bitter taste. Hearing those words from Bernie's mouth in the overhead of staying second place, there only stood triumphant and relevant two people in the game, ready to sway voters with their chosen old school tactics on one hand and right-wing, nativist strongmanning and fearmongering on the other. Bill Gates felt like a breath of fresh air, a sense of righteous vigor that will probably shake things up, given his position and standing in society. He's not a Gary Johnston nor a Jill Stein. Probably he's the thematic dialectic of the two once rhetorically opposed and formerly-projected bitter rivals of the presidential race.

The much hoped for Bernie-Trump battle never happened, with much chagrin from the land of memes and honey. As one youtuber puts it, "We're not going to get the presidential battle that I think the meme economy needed to increase meme exports for the next four years." I wasn't keen on watching Bernie Sanders' campaign unfold, most of our eyes were on Pelo Arturion's rise to power. From outside observers, especially from Commonwealth eyes, he was a minor candidate. He seemed nonexistent except to the people who wanted him.

And lo and behold, the man behind the windows and the iconic emblem of four colored squares. All in his old man rich nerd glory. A new voice for the people. In all honesty, he seemed a more formidable counterpart to Trump than Bernie. Much like Bernie, sans the socialist overtones, Gates is a supporter of progressive policy that have been implemented by the United States much recently, during the cusp of political polarization of the early 21st century. Much like Trump, he's a businessman. But unlike Trump, Gates is new money. He made his bones with knowledge of technology and his advances to develop it. In most cases, Bill is the moral, ideological counter of Trump, more so than Sanders. This makes him a thematic synthesis, this dialectic of opposing forces where the moral half has the Bernie side dominant.

Will Bill Gates' entrance deem anything to the American New Left, and more importantly, all of America? There will be three possibilities within this: one would be that Gates may get sidelined to the third parties, much like the Libertarians and Greens and Socialists and the two party system will stay as it is, two would be the Democrats having to woo the Progressives into their fold should they take off and mantain their power, or in some freak of nature the other parties would enter the mainstream, the gods faint and appear over the capitol and scream in utter hysteria, forcing the mortals to do the same as well while the coldness of the final circle of hell spreads onto the other parts.

Whatever, this is a mere scratchpad.

CLECIELLE, BAR (TRIOFA) - With the advent of the return of the radicalist LGBTQIA terrorist group Homofront some magisters within the Kingdom of Bar has called for a comprehensive discussion on how to prevent similar extremist groups from doing any damage to the country, and in turn, the continent. However, in a recent press release from the current Chancellor of Bar, Valérian Roux, has stated that such groups "are currently not threats to Kingdom security at the moment".

"We might be overreacting regarding this matter. For the past 5 years we have a consistent record of at best an extremely low level of any illegal anti-state activity from the inside and outside of the Kingdom. If anything, any activity that my arise from such groups can be dealt in accordance to domestic security." Says His Excellency.

However, he has taken concern regarding recent incidents of LGBTQIA sites being forcibly transformed into blatant Pro-Homofront entities, some cases showcasing pornographic material. Many users of such sites in Bar have been brought to attention lately. "It seems to be obvious the great majority of these incidents are a result of Hacking. You can't be sincere with these kinds of content. This is a cyber security issue and definitely involves recent events happenings in the Union State and the cases here in Triofa are more of collateral spillovers. This shall be looked into further, particularly on the cade whether they are actually Homofront or not."

POVDASTOL, VOLONIA (TRIOFA) - The Volonik State Duma has been making rounds of surprise and fervor after the Industrialist Party of Volonia (Partiya Industriyalisky Volonyky) and their coalition, the Alliance for State Unity and Progress replaced the Justice and Freedom Party's Coalition for a Better Volonia as the main opposition in the state legislature.

The Industrialist Party celebrated their victory in a rally at Pravdograd, West Serania. Black and red flags embedded with white rings were flown within the rally, some chanting "Victory in the Seat of Victory" in the streets.

"This is a sign that the Voloniks are now seeing the cracks in the old order." Party leader Viktor Taszadar says to Illuminator, "The people cannot be silent no more. We shall see that order shall triumph in the Duma, and we will fight for a new Volonia together."

The current head of the Caroline Directive Council, Markus Aberdeen has congratulated the Industrialist Party for their recent electoral victory. He has publicly announced an invitation to the Party for a private meeting.

MARIANNE (TRIOFA) - Out of the blue, the Caroline Central Directory (CCD) has suddenly called for an emergency convention of the current War Council, a classified subcommittee in the House of Peers, according to an official release from the Caroline Agency of Information and Intelligence. The release, signed by Minister-Director Michael Frost, does not officially disclose the reason, but has implied that the rationale was centers around some sort of intervention.

"There is something needed to be concluded." The release states, "the longer this issue remains unchecked, we increase chances of any progress in the domestic sectors. We must continue and finish this with their cooperation." The release was concluded with the trigraph "-HEL-" and the signature of Minister Frost.

Minister Frost has not accepted any questions from the press.

TREDETIANE, NOVATORIA (TRIOFA) - Coinciding with the ascension of the new Johannine Bishop of Villenocte, the secularist Novatist Church has also gone a change in leadership. Recently, Novator Emeritus Michael Bangalter (known as Interomines during his tenure) has stepped down in favor of Amelie Romain, a 30-year old protégé of the 73-year old congregator.

The handover ceremony happened a week after Interomines' abdication. Amelie Romain, elected two days later, shared good words as the Novator Emeritus steps down from the ceremonial seat. Novator Amelie Romain was named Misericordia IV, Novatorelle.

The Novatist Church is the official religion of the State of Novatoria. Officially a "ceremonial faith" that was meant to replace Christian civil ceremonies after the end of the Triofan revolution, of has grown into one of the most prominent secularist faiths in Triofa, next to southern-based Religion of Humanity.

UAFV ATLANTIC COMMAND COMMENCES WARGAMES

NEODELPHIA (TRIOFA) - The Atlantic Command of the United Armed Forces of Victoriala has officially started its deliberately announced wargames near the Rockall Territory, with 17 of the 37 armed forces under the UAFV's coordination participating in what might be the largest military exercise in the Commonwealth's history. The exact numbers of the wargames' order of battle wasn't disclosed for security reasons, yet Arna Regina, one of the current directors of the UAFV, said that the war games were done in anticipation to the much expected Union Day military parade, to be held at Villenocte in November 11 to 12.

"The Rockall Administration is very keen on the performance of the participating forces," says Regina, "the wargames are not just a mere friendly competition, this is a review of their necessary defence capabilities. Where they will lack, we must ensure that all of our abilities shall ensure our sovereignty as the Union Day comes."

The exercises shall conclude by November 3.

4INTERN-ANTIFA RIOT APPREHENDED BY STATE POLICE
Fourth internationalists and Antifascists clash again, this time in Volonia

VYSEHRAD (TRIOFA) - A confrontation-turned-full blown riot between the Fourth Internationalist Front for National Salvation (Fronta pro Národní Spásy, NAS) and the Antifascist Action - Volonia Chapter in the city of Vyšehrad, Volonia has been suppressed by Volonian State Police, PRAVADI reports.

There are about 30 injured during the riots and subsequent dispersion, 12 of them civilians. About two rioters died (Antifa) during the chaos. 400 Individuals, about 280 of them Fourth Internationalists, were arrested for violating public peace and destruction of property. Vladibor Haclav, leader of the NAS, was among the arrested. However, the arrested Antifa claim that the Fourth Internationalists started the conflict, and were only protecting themselves. Many witnesses, along with video evidence posted throughout Vine and Twitter, seem to support the Antifacist Movement's story. Video evidence also show some State Police being particularly brutal in their apprehensions, including a police vehicle being used to run over some rioters over the chaos. Currently, the State Government of Volonia has instituted a state of temporary emergency in Vyšehrad immediately after the dispersion of rioters.

The leadership of the Antifascist Action - Volonia Chapter, Konstantin Dvorak, called the methods of some police during the riots as "excessive" and "outright unjust" in twitter. He has also called for the freedom of the Antifa protesters, whom Dvorak said "were only defending themselves" against the NAS' attacks.

"The Vyšehrad riots are just another strike against both sides of militant extremism", says Wikus Thorvaldsen, professor of Cultural Studies in Volonian Polytechnic University, who was among the witnesses of the event. "It should be very clear at this point that these sorts of activism, whatever intention and value, are nothing but acts of utter irrationalism at the cost of everyone else."

As the city of Vyšehrad is currently in a state of emergency, other political groups, some of them paramilitaries, have offered service right after the conflagration. "Disorder within the State is particularly rampant as the year ends," say Mihaly Teoforov, spokesperson for the Perpetuist State Stability Force. "It is imperative for the good citizens of the nation to take part in maintaining the nation's peace, lest we have more people put in danger due to these emblems of barbarity".
