1. What is the license plate format?
##LL ###-##; ##L ###-###.

2. What is the color scheme and font?
By standard black on white, but it may be customized. The font is Kenteken, the plate font of a fictitious country called the Netherlands.
It always carries the flag (Royal Standard) as well as the country code SJ.

3. What do individual characters mean?
The first two digits indicated which Fief ("federal state") the car has been registered in. The rest is random.

4. Does a car have one plate for its life or does it get reregistered?
Usually, plates are assigned to a vehicle owner, not the particular car - thus, unless in very rare cases, a plate remains for the entire life of its owner. This does not change if the owner moves to a different part of Shikonjima.

5. What can be found out from a plate number?
Only the territory it was registered in.

6. License plate sizes:

New series: L ####

2. What is the color scheme and font?
Old series: Black on white, Helvetica bold. At the left is the Purpurian emblem, and at the bottom is the nation name in Latin: REGNUM PURPURIAE.
New series: Instead of the full nation name, the ISO 3166 code for Purpuria (PP) appears under the emblem. The font has been changed to DIN 1451 Narrow. The border is now purple.

3. What do individual characters mean?
The number is a simple count of all cars registered up to that one. I.e., 555 is given to the 555th car. With the new series, a letter was added to track the year, starting with A for 2019.

4. Does a car have one plate for its life or does it get reregistered?
One car will always have the same plate, but a plate may be reused once the car is retired from the road. There is a quota on the number of new plates given out each year, to limit the total number of cars in use.

There are no license plates, auto registration or drivers licenses in Libereco kaj Paco. However, drivers can use non-unique vanity plates with a custom word/phrase for aesthetic purposes, which can use any color and font. Vanity plates for buses generally contain the bus route abbreviation and vanity plates for vans and trucks generally contain the company name or company industry abbreviation.

Personal automobiles are largely obsolete in the capital; Party members and tourists are ferried by a network of monorails, metros, and self-driving taxis. In the colonies, only Party members may drive cars because ordinary citizens do not have freedom of movement. Since all of those who own a car are privileged officials, they are not required to register or license their vehicles. There are also no traffic police; due to the low rate of vehicle ownership, accidents are exceedingly rare.

Snakeden has completely banned cars for the sake of the environment, and so has no need for license plates. Contrary to popular belief, we do not have bicycles either due to our lack of legs. The main methods of transportation are slithering, solar rolling chairs, and simple carts pulled by pack beasts. Every now and then someone attempts to make a thing out of biting their own tail and rolling places, but they never get very far, if you'll excuse the pun.
