Yeah and all those swords have big ass engines right in front of the gaurd and most of that weight being infront of the hand.
If you are going to chain sword you really need to 40k up and have a straight handle mounted more centrally.

That's why the Swiss did their K31 sniper conversions with a canted mechanism. Another would be the idea that the rifle is designed originally as a single shot side feeder that gets converted to magazine use. Or maybe the army doctrine is that it has a magazine but troops are supposed to single feed it unless ordered to WW1 style. Etc. etc.

The K31 sniper was canted only as much as was required to clear the scope and magazine cut offs already existed on rifles not set up as wierdly as possible.

To add:
There were three K31 sniper versions
Two used no canting of the action, the ZfK-55 (Zeilfernrohrkarbiner) did; the other two perminatly mounted the optic to the left of the receiver.
The K-31/42 had a 1.8x20-something optic, while the K-31/43 had a 2.8x20-somthing scope.

Having fired, and reloaded, a Johnson, can confirm for awkward AF.
Honestly it was easier to load single loose rounds.

For a time when pinfires were a thing. Would a pinfire rifle using a round where the pin is in the center of the rear of the cartridge as opposed to sticking out the side make sense? So basically like a centerfire but with its own firing pin. Also for bonus points the rifle would be a conversion from old needle guns with the thin needle being swapped for a thicker wider thing that strikes the firing pin built into the bullet.
Purpelia does not reflect my actual world views. In fact, the vast majority of Purpelian cannon is meant to shock and thus deliberately insane. I just like playing with the idea of a country of madmen utterly convinced that everyone else are the barbarians. So play along or not but don't ever think it's for real.

In all seriousness, possibly made so you can more easily dig while flat on your stomach?

It's a machinegunner's shovel, made short so it will allow you to squat behind the machinegun without dragging on the ground.

But wait; there's more!

The Kps m/28 (top) and M/28L (Later M/28E) were the standard Submachineguns of the Dnieguan armed forces from their adoption in 1928 until 1968.
I have no particular information on them at the moment besides they fed from a 36 round detachable box magazine and had a fire rate of 650 rounds/minute; the folding stock version weighed a nice light 2.95kg, while the fixed stock version was a hearty 3.6kg (and is actually shaped after the BREN gun)

Also, so reviewing a more conventional section layout, I am considering this:

Command Team:
- Section Leader w/ rifle
- Assistant Section Leader w/ rifle

Assault Team:
- Rifleman w/ rifle
- Autorifleman w/ IAR
- Grenadier w/ Rifle and UBGL

Assault Team:
- Rifleman w/ rifle
- Autorifleman w/ IAR
- Grenadier w/ Rifle and UBGL

Weapon Team:
- Gunner w/ IFV gun or LMG
- Driver/Assistant w/ rifle

Structure is the same regardless. Section leader or assistant section leader takes over teams as needed, depending on situation. If mech/armoured infantry vehicle crew is weapon team.

Heavily based on RL CF in practice structure.

Idea is with IFV, SL can take command of either IFV or dismount portion, and ASL can command the other, depending on need. If IFV is of less use, both can take an assault team. If it's light infantry, one can take the MG team and one both assault teams. Or any combination.

My only two notes:
1: Tears of the Sun seemed to have a rather strong religious undertone. But if you can ignore that win.
2: Only the original Red Dawn.

Tears of The Sun tries to be too emotional and shit. Like they go in slow motion and cry and stuff 10 seconds after hundreds of enemies just got cooked with napalm.

Also that guy who falls over when his wooden legs gets a hole through it from a bullet. What.
