Entrecaseaux declares hostilities with Euphemie, voices support for CS

Lee, Federal States of Euphemie - The Federal States of Euphemie, fighting an increasingly one-sided conflict with the Continental System as well as a breakout of near civil-war has had the odds shift further out of their reach: Entrecaseaux has announced the opening of hostilities with the destabilizing nation, citing "sponsorship of extreme breaches of sovereignty in neutral countries, unprovoked aggression against multiple countries and an inherent recklessness to the well-being and lives of it's citizens". Leadership spokesmen who announced the opening of war between the two nations specified that they were at liberty to say only that "fair numbers of military assets will be deployed to Ophir in the coming weeks". Anaylists have predicted that these assets consist largely of naval vessels with some additional troop assets.

Militants Take a Dozen VRM Hostages

The Valaran Royal Marines (VRM) suffered a devastating blow yesterday evening in Schömberg, as the Lotschen Liberation Front (LLF) managed to first seriously damage, and then hijack a Patrol Craft (PC), capturing some six hostages. The situation is as of yet unresolved.

The setback occurred in what was supposed to be the ‘final offensive’ against the LLF in Schömberg. The terrorist organisation had been losing ground, though far behind the optimistic predictions made at the start of the operation. VRM casualties have also been high, and the Branch’s shortcomings have received unusual attention in the press and on social media. One of the recurring issues faced by the VRM has been the lack of heavy weaponry. This has lead to the use of Valaran patrol vessels as fire support.

As part of their deployment to Schömberg, the Valarans were assigned to advance along the river, and ultimately bisect LLF positions. This advance was supported by Bay-Class PCs and Kivi-Class Offshore Patrol Vessels (OPVs), who acted as gun platforms. One of the Bay PCs used was the Arakni, a ship with over thirteen years of experience in patrolling duties, including several stints opposite Kirana. She is armed with a 25mm twin barrelled AA gun and two 12.7mm Machine Guns. This paper understand that she was fitted with several more weapons during this combat, including a Kalant Mk-IV Missile Launcher, as well as unconfirmed reports of rigging an 120mm mortar on the aft deck, and acting as a base for ATGM squads. Like all Bay-Class Patrol Craft, the Arakni was due to retire from military service, and instead by sold to private buyers.

As the Arakni came close to the western bank, it was met with a volley of missile fire. Although most shots missed, at least several hits from RPGs occurred, one striking near the command deck and blowing through a window pane. Another holed the vessel near the waterline (causing a small leak) and two more fell close to the 30mm Gun on the fore-deck. Despite the storm of fire and the damage, the PC was more or less weathering the onslaught. The Arakni’s commander began to focus fire on the bank, determining that most of the battery was coming from two ruined buildings. He also directed mortar fire on both buildings. However, during a second volley of RPGs were being fired, three ATGMs were also launched at the Craft. One veered wildly into the water, fizzling out in a cloud of steam. A second disintegrated on launch, apparently hit by a stray round from the 25mm gun. The third, however, caused a direct hit on the Arakni’s starboard hull. The warhead failed to fully explode, likely as lightly armoured boat did not provide enough resistance. However, it caused a 1m-by-0.7m hole in the hull, and nearly went through the entire craft. As the boat began to list, and had suffered 5 direct hits, the commander retreated.

Although the Arakni suffered the worst damage, these events are not unusual occurrences in the battle to reclaim Schömberg. A leaked extract from an internal report said that all of the Patrol Craft had been “riddled with several hundred bullet holes” and that the VRM had taken to stacking improvised armour on them. Ancillary reports also suggest that RPG and ATGM fire is regularly directed at the vessels, since they are obvious targets and relatively open. More common, however, is mortar attacks, since the source of these cannot easily spotted without radar.

Other complaints are that the Bay Class are fundamentally unsuited to their roles. Their 30mm cannons are too light, and there are insufficient stocks of missiles to operate a continue bombardment. Meanwhile, they are simply too vulnerable and too unprotected. In contrast, the Kivi OPVs are able to shell LLF positions from a safe distance with their 76mm Naval Guns. However, the Bay Class do have unique uses — their speed is unhindered by debris (though the LLF has tried dumping rubble into the river to create barriers) and they can respond to attacks more quickly than other vehicles. This speed also allows them to dodge a lot incoming fire, and the clear field of fire also makes them more deadly to the LLF. Hence, both the terrorists and the boats have taken heavy damage from each other: 36% of Valaran casualties occurred on PCs, though wounds tend to be lighter — only 8% of the VRM’s fatal injuries happened on the vessels.

After being hit, the Arakni reversed back up the river. However, for unknown reasons a fire started, spreading to the engine room. The Captain ordered the ship to halt, and cut the power so that the engine would not explode. However this trapped the ship some 130m back from where it had been hit. Worse, the vessel began to list, as water began to enter through the hull. LLF gunners, seeing the Arakni immobilised, listing, and on fire, began to target the damaged vessel. For most it was at the extreme edge of their range, and so despite dozens of missiles and thousands of machine gun rounds being fired, mostly hit the water harmlessly. However mortars and a light artillery piece began to open up, with several mortar shells causing glancing hits to the hull. In total, it took thirty-seven minutes for a Tug to arrive, and pull the Arakni out of the combat zone. Covering fire was also provided Ljóra Gunships, which were able to target LLF positions as they opened up on the stricken ship. In the overall engagement, four Valarans were killed and fifteen wounded, out of a total of thirty-two persons on the Vessel.

Once moored at a nearby drydock, the crew of the Arakni helped battle the fire for several hours. This was successfully contained, and the ship was saved, with several exhausted crew members staying on as a skeleton crew, in case the fire restarted. They clearly thought the worst of their ordeal was over. However, the LLF were not done with the Arakni.

At 03:13 AM, it appears around a dozen LLF members boarded the Arakni. They seem to have either swum the entire distance, or used a boat for part of the way. At least one LLF has washed up on the bank of Salza, apparently having drowned in the currents. Once aboard, they started a brief gunfight with the crew, taking most of them hostage. At least two of the VRM were wounded in the fight, and a total of nine personnel have been taken hostage.

The response is uncertain. VRM have surrounded the vessel, and it is hemmed in from all sides by the other PCs and OPVs. The government has promised ‘no negotiation’ and ‘firm action to seize the hostages, if [the LLF] do no surrender.’ There are unconfirmed reports of special forces being flown in to plan a rescue operation, or for the use of sleeping gas and snipers to take out the terrorists, but no details are being released and journalists have been excluded from the site. The VRM have no doubt they can rescue those on board, but this marks a new horror for the troubled Lotschen expedition.

A rather un-noted vote in the Donnish Council Chambers in Bögt recently affirmed the pursuit of arming the Donnish Military with nuclear weapons today with a reported 26-99 vote in favor of creating a Nuclear Weapons Program. The 26 who declined were all Conservative Council Members with one Liberal Member with a loud history of preaching against war and violence in a bid for pacifism. While those who voted for were a reported coalition of Moderates and Liberals. The Military Council unilaterally voted for the measure which, strangely enough, was proposed by President Keenes themselves. Executive Proposals not been done in nearly 2 decades.

Keenes had nothing to say on the matter and dismissed reporters upon questioning about the meaning of this sudden change in Donnish Military Doctrine. Any and all military contacts that we had contacted about this quickly hung up on us upon bringing up the topic and said that "A press briefing will be held relatively soon on a currently undecided date and time concerning your topic." The entire thing has been kept under hush-hush until recently when the vote passed it appears, without notifying at all the press.

We spoke to the conservatives who had rejected the vote for as to why they did so. All of them, more or less, had answered us saying that "such an action (a nuclear weapons program) is largely against the fundamental teachings of the Mountain God and puts us in a position that we are positive will backfire on Keenes and the people of Donner Land." or have all stated that Donner Land is not ready for such a position in the world as a Nuclear Power.

On religion, to readers who are not familiar with Donnish Mythology, its largely taken at face value that "The Mountain God" looks down unfavorably on Nuclear Weapons. As they are seen to ruin the land that he had worked hard to create and ruthlessly destroy life on a mass scale not tolerable. Of course, wars happen and people die, but between wars, it is taught that there is a time to rest and recuperate the losses. Nuclear Weapons do not allow such a thing and they permanently doom land to inhospitable conditions.

That is if they are used, of course.

This is a huge change in doctrine for the Donnish Armed Forces, who have not seen Nuclear Weapons as particularly useful in the years before. Now, however, thanks to Keenes influence and the changing of the guard in the "Brass", there seems to be a large shift in doctrine on Nuclear Weapons, in the past seen as an Offensive weapon which "Does not make sense for a defensive military." as one general aptly put it in 2012. Now, however, as the Donnish Government becomes more outward, the military changes too.

Some people choose to join the fight against Euphemie in a myriad of ways, some by enlisting, others by mounting bikes and taking the fight directly to the Euphemians. Such is the case for the so-called "Biko Biker Gang," a nationalist group of ruffians and ex-military vigilantes that, with support from Duirel, have already entered the city of N'wengo and begun to clash clash with Euphemian forces still in the area. Prime Minister Enfield has stated that the Biko Biker Gang, "although their cause is noble," should "either wait for TAFOR to deal with the threat themselves or enlist themselves, rather than jeopardize the safety of the local people," he stated in a Parliamentary debate yesterday. Turmenistanian National Police forces have advised against engaging directly with enemy forces, though getting the Biker Gangs to comply with the rules seems to be quite difficult.

New Rome – Around 0430 this morning, the Cohort CIC Aerium dropped onto Lepidus Island. A couple hours later, forces came from the ocean, supporting the airborne forces. The forces quickly took occupation of the uninhabited island.

In a press conference after the operation, the Minister of War announced that a surprise training operation had just been completed and was successful. He also announced that the island will be militarized, and a joint military facility will be built on Lepidus. The Minister of War concluded the conference with the following statement: “There are foreign powers on Roman soil. They would do well to think about leaving. If not, the National Gladiatorial League would love to have new contestants.”

The military is now preparing civil engineering cohorts for deployment to Lepidus.

The 2018 Elections are finally beginning in the Kaiserreich of Reutoa. The main candidates are the incumbent Chancellor, Count Leopold Schechter and the Leader of the National Freedom Party, Dietrich Rottmanner. Both announced their Candidacies yesterday at different times of the day. The Leaders of the Republican, Socialists, Democratic Christian and Soviet parties have announced no intention of running. The Understanding is that the Soviet party is still under investigation for the attempted murder of the Crown Princess, and that the Socialist and Republican Parties are standing with them in solidarity. The Democratic Christian Party is currently split and cannot decide on campaign policy, so the Leadership has announced that they will be stepping back to rework their Party.

This is worrying to some Experts as Mr. Rottmanner, current Member of the Reichstag and former Minister of Defense is the only other politician in the nation with enough support to challenge the Chancellor. Mr. Rottmanner has been described as cold hearted and ruthless. There are also legal cases filled against him for corruption (as well as some believe he is responsible for the Murder of a news reporter). Mr. Rottmanner has denied any involvement in the Murder and claims he is against corruption and has said he is a more then ready to answer any questions anyone has for him. Chancellor Schechter has said this is a perfect reason for the people not to vote for the National Freedom Party, whom he calls "Fascists with another name."

The media in that country and independent Urranese news organizations in both Lochsten and the Volcano Islands have reported that a joint Urranese and Portean task force have launched an attack on the former Rattean territory with forces from the sea, land, and air.

About two hours ago we began receiving reports of cruise missile and artillery attacks on military and government targets across the country and especially in the capital of Oberstaufen. We received no warning from the military on this matter. This is a complete and total surprise attack, as far as we here at UCN are concerned. It seems that earlier this evening the Urranese Embassy in Ratte tweeted that they had received reports of the potential for what it called "some form of impending attack" on Oberfaust and urged citizens and those of allied states to stay away from the government district, but, according to social media that we're following now, many took this to mean a potential terrorist attack.

We were unsure what was going on until about ten minutes ago we received reports and the military has confirmed that Urranese and Portean armor and infantry have indeed crossed the border from Esgonia and the FAP in at least three places. It's being rumored, but we have been unable to confirm, that Urranese Marine forces have conducted an amphibious assault on the country from the Volcano Islands. Civilians are being urged to stay inside until further notice. It seems that Urran and FAP are intending to annex the tiny Ashai nation.

ASHAI -The LJFC continues to monitor a situation coming out of Lotschen. Earlier this morning at around 0200, an unconfirmed number of troops from the Free Asian Ports and Urran moved assets from the border of the Esgonian Federation into the country of Lotschen as well as launch an unknown number of missiles from ships nearby. Rattean planes from airbases located near the former province-turned-nation have been deployed to enforce a country wide no-fly-zone over Lotschen. All civilian and military aircraft alike will be turned around.

"We do not have the intention of undermining the integrity of our allies, but we will not allow the possibility of indiscriminant bombing to take place and give more legitimacy to LLF" said GenLt. Luca Theissen, current commander of the Lotschen Joint Forces Command. "The Invasion of Lotschen undermines the mission to quell the LLF, We are here to squash an insurgency, not grow it."

The No-Fly-Zone will in no way divert or affect counter-terrorism operations that continue to take place against the Lotschen Liberation Front, who continue to lose heaps of manpower as a result of direct conflict every day.

A sizeable portion of land in the Aratoas island has become land to be officially leased by the Rattean government for 20 years for which a period will be available for renewal. Construction of a major Dominion air and naval base has begun on the north-eastern peak of the island facing the realm of Helghan. A Helghast carrier group continues overwatch of the island which is officially under Vanquarian provincial administration. It is reported that Vanquarian military assets including manpower will now be diverted for a war in the northeast against the Modenian terrorist regime and their sponsor states.

Unionist ships leave Aaratoas, head to Modeno

After the Rattean surprise leasing of Modeno, the Unionist naval group stationed in the island set sail early this morning towards Modeno, a nation currently engaged in a brutal war with neighbouring nation Liverpool.

While it is too early to speculate, many believe the stop is being made to restock for the long haul home, as the island is temporarily under Vanquarian control following a historical - and controversial - deal with Rattean authorities. While just as many speculate the true reason of this course change is been doing to assist Modeno with the ongoing conflict and apply political pressure, it is too early to tell wether this is true or not.

Hesseren Expresses Concern about the Future of Union Relations

Astaria, Valaran — Prime Minister Hesseren gave an address at the Veldaron palace today, outlining his opposition to the Urranese-Portean invasion of Lotschen. He condemned the violation of Lotschen’s borders, stating that “this is an action entirely at odds with the guiding principle of national sovereignty. There can be no justification for this; any attempt at providing one will be nothing more than a paper shield, designed to mask injustice.”

The address was short and concise, and Hesseren was characteristically blunt. The Prime Minister explained his condemnation on the grounds of an “absence of any justifiable grievance”, a lack of any attempt at diplomacy, the excessive force used during the opening assault, and the “blatant disregard of Lotschen’s right to sovereign existence.” He expressed concern about the humanitarian situation, noting the potential for terrorism, and expressed doubts on the“future existence of Lotschen as an independent territory, given this fait accompli.” Hesseren also announced that he had summoned the Urranese and Portean ambassador to explain Valaran displeasure to both. He finished with a request that “Urran withdraw its military presence immediately,” to prevent further casualties.

Hesseren took more questions than normal. Asked whether he would support the Rattean No Fly Zone, Hesseren seemed uncertain. “This is a developing situation. We will have to look at our options.” He added that Ratte “is right to in its desire to limit civilian casualties, and the damage to infrastructure that airstrikes may cause.” He also expressed fears that violations of the No Fly Xone may lead to escalation of hostilities between ostensibly allied states.

Questions also turned to the Lotschen Liberation Front (LLF), the Terrorist Organisation that Ratte, Valaran and others are fighting in Letzbourg. Hesseren expressed concern about the impact of the invasion: “The likelihood is that this will significant boost the LLF. The invasion will do much to destroy Lotschen’s state institutions. At the same time, this is going to presents Lotschen’s population with a genuine foreign invader. [The LLF] will capitalise on this.” He added “I fear this undoes all of our hard progress against the organisation in Letzbourg.” He nonetheless reiterated Valaran commitment to ridding the City of the Terrorist organisation, stressing that “nothing has changed to the VRM’s mission.” He is expected to authorise additional deployments shortly.

The hardest question put to the Prime minister concerned the cohesion of the Union, asked by Katie Farr of the VNC. This followed several setbacks to the Alliance, including the apparent Dominion Victory in Aratoas, and the possibility that Ratte might open fire on Portean aircraft. Hesseren appeared to grimace as it was mentioned, conceding that “Going forward, it will be difficult.” He stressed that the Ports and Urran “will remain international partners, despite our differences today.”

The Union has already come under increasing tension, with reports of bitter recriminations between member-states over Aratoas. Reports have surfaced of Portean ‘fury’ at Rattean ‘capitulation’. Meanwhile, despite issuing strong rhetoric, with many member states exhibiting mounting reluctance to face off with the rival alliance. This has lead many commentators (including our own Elric Dara) to suggest that the Ratte was essentially abandoned by the alliance, and left to face the Dominion alone.

The Prime Minister refused to address the situation in Aratoas directly, though noting that “the Union must do more to present a united front. Without a basis for unity, the alliance will struggle to maintain cohesion in the face of mourning threats.” Asked if he meant Halfway islands, the Prime Minister agreed that this was “another potential flashpoint” and stressed a commitment to its defence “though we prioritise peace and stability.”

A second follow up question concerned the Dominion’s invasion of Modeno. An increasing number of international partners, including Valaran and its strong ally Donnerland, have threatened a military response. However, member-states of the Union have been noticeably absent from the growing coalition. Most have simply ignored the situation; a few have conducted (largely token) gestures of support. The question posed was therefore asking if Valaran now found itself in a similar situation to Ratte, abandoned by its Union allies. Hesseren rejected the notion, noting that “we did not invoke our mutual-defence pact” as “there was no grounds for formally involving the Union.” He appreciated the gestures of support, but emphasised the prioritisation given to PACT.

On an unrelated note, the Portean government released an announcement that it will share governance of Axel with Valaran and Urran. The city and its surrounding area, a recent Portrean enclave in the northern Grey Sea, will become jointly administered. Each of the three nations will govern a zone of Axel, with the Valaran zone bordering Kirana.

Royal Army and Republican Front hold Joint Diplomatic Conference

As foreign threats increase and our nation is to be encircled, can unity be achieved?

Port Cloq – When it was declared last week that the Royal Army and Republican Front where willing to hold a so-called "Joint Diplomatic Conference" last week, it didn't receive much press attention, being labbeled by many journalist as a "minor event" among the numerous large scale wars and conflicts going around in the world. Yet today, media internationally was suprised at the willingness reported of both sides to unify their country against it's foes. Handshakes were initially shaky aboard the recently decommissioned Aircraft Carrier "Atalanta", which was chosen as a neutral but respectable place for such a meeting. Present where both the most notable head's within the Front, and the most notable staff of the Royal Army, as well as the entirety of the Provisional Government's Board of Presidents, and it's diplomatic and military staff.

The first of three opening speeches was held by President Maitland of the Provisional Government, who had only recently secured his position again due to his management of the IADA aggression against the Isles. Maitland noted this as a decisive event in making him realise how weakened and splintered their defenses were, even going so far as to say that "only the stupidity of IADAs leaders is what maybe saved us that day; and helped us in destroying them".

Second speaker was General-Secretary Anne Smythe of the Republican Front. While she stressed that the conference was not the place for the dogmatic debate among the Republicans, she admitted that it was the time: "While the atrocities of the Royal Army are not forgotten, we shall also not forget their recent deeds".

Since Colonel-General Leighton was sick during the conference, his speech was instead delivered by Lieutenant-General Noyens of the Naval Intelligence Department. Noyens reviewed the most recent diplomatic events within the world, and brought to everyone's attention a threatening detail: "We are about to be in a situation in which we have enemies on all sides. The CS and GRCS are carving up Ophir, the Union is threatening us from the North. As President Maitland has already correctly stated, every of these empires is a threat, each of them is aiming to subjugate and conquer. They might be friendly now, but they are just waiting to stab us into the back when the moment is right. This must be prevented".

The conference, proceeding for three days, was mostly held in secret, with a few further addresses to the media, which mostly aimed to explain the current security situation the Isles were in towards the populace. It was not until the third day that results were presented. The conference identified five fields that the Isle'ish diplomacy was lacking in:

[*]A clearly centralised diplomatic corps. While the Provisional Government possess a diplomatic corps, its efforts are constantly being undermined by individuals interacting with foreign governments.

[*]A clearly centralised economic, labour and fiscal policy. Individuals ignoring the policies dictated by the Provisional Government was threatening to the Isles's capability to engage in trade wars.

[*]A single unified self-defence force. While the Royal Army has voluntarily taken over the role of defending the nations, many militant factions are ignoring what is in theory mandated to them by membership in the Provisional Goverment: Participating in the defence of the nation!

[*]A single unified intelligence community. The only sizeable intelligence force within the Isles, Royal Intelligence, has been mostly operating domestically to identify a potential enemy within.

[*]An overhelming national war support. In his finishing speech, Maitland noted though that he saw improvements in this within the latest IADA aggressions.

While no concrete action plan has been negotiated yet, many observers presume that the Isles shall soon get to work as the problems have now been identified. It is of course our honour as proud Isle'ish to participate in this!

Government Demands Fronsland, Ocean States to leave Roman Islands

New Rome – In a joint press conference, the Caesar, Minister of War, and Senate Praetor have stated the goals of the Humanitas Primus Party for the next several years. At the forefront of these goals is the reclamation of islands that are historically Roman. These include islands that were taken by foreign colonialist powers when this great Roman state was weak. These islands, claimed by Fronsland and the Fish People, both have been in the eyes of the public recently as citizens, both active duty and retired, demand that they be claimed back to their rightful owners.

In his speech the Ceasar spoke to those nations with the following statement: “The state of Fronsland has held on to the Roman island Antonius for too long. It is time that it is returned to its rightful owners. Leaders of Fronsland, remove yourselves from that island immediately. As of noon today, the Novus Imperium Roman claim it as their own island once again. Keeping nonauthorized people on it will be seen as an act of war, should they stay on after the undisclosed evacuation period.”

This statement was applauded by all citizens. Popular opinion of this statement is high, though not as high as the statement made toward the Manatee Maters: “And now, to the group of animals who think themselves a state. It’s honestly cute that you think yourselves a nation, on our level. You have taken our island Octavianus, bastardized it, renamed it to an abdominal name, Zamada, and have subjected and raped innocent Romans there. You are next. Evacuate now before we make you.”

The NIR continues to build its new base on Lepidus Island, which is extremely close to Antonius. With the air strip near completion, long range bombers and fighters are expected to be stationed there. A naval port is also planned, though will take more time to build than an airfield.

Citizens marched in the streets after the press conference protesting the subjugation of these Roman islands by outsiders. A slave brothel was flamed during the protest. No one was arrested.

This a bright new chapter for the Roman people.

Hanajima Summoned to Parliament, Condemns Dominion

Prime Minister Hanajima and Defense Minister Zhou were summoned before Parliament to explain the Urranese invasion of Lochsten, but deflected questioning to give a spirited defense of democracy and condemn the Dominion.

What was supposed to be an inquiry into what lead to the Urranese invasion of the former Rattean territory went south when Hanajima derailed MP Koji Himura's line of questioning with a shocking apology and a defense of the West.

"I would like to offer apologize to the committee, but foremost, the Urranese people and the global community at large, but silence was necessary to protect allied troops." Hanajima began. The PM then went on to attempt to justify the invasion by claiming that Lochsten's very existence is a threat to the Union and that Urran and the FAP stand by their view that its succession from Ratte was illegal.

Dodging questions from other MPs, Hanajima went on to condemn the Dominion invasion of Modeno and Aratoas. "We stand by our allies in Valaran and Donnerland. I am determined to commit Urranese financial, material, and military assets to whatever course of action the Valarans and Donnish choose to take against the Dominion. Vanqueria and its allies represent the largest threat to freedom and democracy in our day and age. I hereby ask Parliament to issue a condemnation of these unjust invasions."

Hanajima's remarks caused such a furor that all other questioning was shut down for the day and our sources tell us that Parliament has indeed issued that condemnation.

The Urranese Parliament and public seem to be heavily divided on the issue. Both anti and pro Hanajima protests have erupted across the country and some MPs are calling for the PMs impeachment.

Ms. Hanajima has certainly earned her various nicknames for her unyielding personality including Iron Lady, Woman of Steel, and Wolf of Mibu.

The conflict in Lochsten is continuing. There have been no reports of casualties. We will update you as the conflict continues.

ISCF to intervene in the Imalakian Civil War.

Officially revealed at 1120 this morning, Anowan chairwoman of the ISCF Gudridur Steinfinnursdottir has announced that the ISCF intend to intervene in the Imalakian civil war both in a humanitarian and security capacity. The nations of Military Republic of Donnerland, Union of Autocratic Empires, Valaran Empire, Oceanic State, Esgonian Federation, Constitutional Republic of Urran, and TUI are all the confirmed nations to be sending support to the Imalakian people until such a time where the nation has stabilized, and ISCF council members do not find reason to remain in the state for security reasons.

At the moment, dedicated number cannot be confirmed for any involved state, but Chairwoman Steinfinnursdottir has informed the press that elements of the 1st Army and Army Medical Corps previously en route to the FSE, as well as Naval Strike Group 3 and the 2nd Engineering Division are being re-tasked with aiding and stabilizing the Imalakian State under the ISCF banner.

Though many in Anowa are skeptical of such an approach and it's goals, it's noted that most members of the Active Service we've spoken to today have been somewhat approving of such a stance.

35 people have been confirmed dead in an tactical ballistic attack on the city of Mari located in Western Federation of Sishai. Local citizens reported seeing an unidentified object flying towards them at high speed before impacting a building and entirely leveling it "I thought it was a fighter jet from the military but when it landed it caused a big boom and blew up that building" says Abu Kareem, the local police chief.

Rescue efforts have made little progress as some responding emergancy vehicles have been crushed by the remaining rubble, it also seems that the emergancy crews do not have the appropriate equipment to assist with the efforts as our live reporter on the ground Piteh Khurshid stated "The emergancy vehicles seem to not possess any equipment to remove the rubble as you can clearly see, the emergancy crews seem to just be standing there and the fire truck lock boxes and drawers are empty and do not hold any equipment, this clearly shows signs of corruption and training deffiency" The footage seen is quite embarrasing and shows the sad array of affairs of the emergancy services of the federation. Responsibility for the attack was claimed by radical terrorist group "Al Kafir ul Haram" with a video uploaded 1 hour ago in which Uri Baba, the leader of Al Kafir ul Haram stated that more attacks like this will follow until foreign influence leaves Azenyanistan.

There are additional reports of fighting going on outside of the city between Ak Kafir ul Haram militants and Federationist troops with Uri Baba claiming that rapid advances are being made and that they will step into the city of Mari itself in a matter of hours. This claim is disputed by local commander of Federationist forces Brigadier General Ahmed Kanarm "This is a bunch of mumbo jumbo, that idiot is delusional and lying and we are holding strong" stated the General. Wether this is true or not, we will find out soon. Additional reports of explosions at several ammo depots around the Federation have also been reported.

Eli is due to make his inaugural speech on the 20th, where he will discuss his highly-anticipated decision on "rounding up all the Libs and finally destroying the hominids," set to be put in place as soon as he takes office. Members of the former Librotaniab govt-in-exile have not made a response.

Mr. Rottmanner in Lead in Polls; Government pledges aid to Modeno

Many woke up this morning surprised to see that the Leader of the National Freedom Party, Mr. Rottmanner is 10% in the lead of Chancellor Schechter in the Polls. The Spokesman of the Chancellor has ignored questions regarding this and instead commented on the Dominion Invasion of the sovereign nation of Modeno. He spoke about how the Chancellor has considered the situation and pledges to his Union allies, Urran, Valaran and FAP that "We are ready to give any naval or ground forces needed for the Defense of Modeno." The Government had remained silent on this for a couple days and now many believe the Chancellor is using his popular foreign policy to win over voters from his "Reutoa First" enemy Mr. Rottmanner.

Mr. Rottmanner called for more undecided voters to vote for him because "I actually care for you, unlike the Government in Bremenburg, who focus on sending our men overseas when we are dealing with a Terrorist group in our own Land!" When asked on his opinion of the Union Mr. Rottmanner said "They are a group of our best allies, i like them. But i hope they understand when i really wanna focus on the many problems taking place in New Wilhemlands and Eastern Reutoa" This type of stance has already been criticized by many in the Government and minority parties, but has been ignored by the NFP. The Offical results will be counted and released this weekend on Saturday or Sunday.

Devastating Magnitude 9 earthquake strikes northern Guptan State

(7:32AM) Kuchesar, Guptan State: Today, it seems as though the earth itself has been unleashing it's grievances upon the Guptan State. On May 30th, after a month of small and medium-sized tremors, a 7.7 magnitude earthquake struck in northern Gupta and killed 1,200 people while leaving thousands more homeless and left to rebuild. A week after on June 5th, a smaller earthquake hit the city of Jhangur in southeastern Gupta and resulted in the deaths of 340 people. These seismic events seem to have been the buildup to today's earthquake, it's epicenter being only 12 kilometers east of the minor city of Kuchesar. At 5:21AM today, what appears to have been a earthquake with a magnitude above 9 on the Richter scale and "approaching 9.5" struck. Recording stations have timed the duration of the earthquake, which lasted for eight minutes and fourty-two seconds. The damage from the quake has been absolute.

Local residents have confirmed that Kuchesar, the capital of the Honours State of Kuchesar-Simyurgar has effectively been completely destroyed in the aftermath of the earthquakes. Deployment of the Guptan National Army and police units from neighboring states has been ordered and currently is underway, as local authorities have been crippled by the destruction of Kuchesar. Current estimates have the death toll being at least at 7,000. In a city with a population of 56,000 however, that number is likely to increase. Mahachhatrapati S.N. Chandrakant voiced his sympathy for the victims, saying that "This is a great sorrow for the entirety of the Guptan people."

2 Hours ago the Soraught's pride opened fire on the Modeno-Liverpool Border, reportedly on infrastructure. This is a rapid escalation of operations in the area. The PACT and other forces in the area have reaffirmed their support of Modeno, and this simply cements the Donnish Government's and Keene's Administration's intent in the area for this intervention.

This strikes comes with the unusual movement and mobilization of troops in Donner Land. It's been confirmed that the 1st and 2nd Fleets have been moved into the sea outside Liverpool and Modeno and within range of missile strikes on the area as confirmed with this strike.

The next steps of the Armed Forces are unknown, but we here believe this is only the start.

- The CPD's Task Force Namenia is en route to Namenia and Modeno following a massive force buildup in order to support the beleaguered nation after the recent declaration of war and invasion by Dominion forces spearheaded by Namenia's northern neighbor, Liverpool. The expected arrival of the force is sometime next month, though details of the exact time are not being disclosed.

- International Gladiatorial Championship 1 has been temporarily postponed due to a lack of applicants. The IGL coordinators want to reassure the people that IGL 1 will still take place once a full roster has been compiled in order to provide the best possible entertainment experience for viewers. - Following a reorganization within the GRCS, there are now only two membership statuses within the organization: Member, and Associate. While this new reorganization has caused quite the stir, some member delegations are complaining of their reduction to Associate status and consequential lack of voting privileges on the GRCS Council. The Council would like to reiterate that the GRCS is a living, flowing body, and can address these issues in further negotiations. The reorganization has bolstered membership, however, with Roman Observer status in the GRCS achieved, as well as Mahárlikan status as a Partner, allowing Mahárlika to participate in economic relations with GRCS members. The GRCS Council has vocalized its support for the growing membership and the hope that it can breed international prosperity and diplomacy.

- Stockton Maddock, the national leader of Trayvik, has become seriously ill with Lynk's Disease, according to Trayvik's state media outlets. Maddock is now on his deathbed at Condor Shay Marshal's Hospital in Condorra, Trayvik, where political elites from across the country have come to pay their respects to the nation's leader. Maddock has since appointed younger brother Eli Maddock to be the next leader of Trayvik due to the elder Maddock's terminal illness. While a small minority political leaders from Trayvik seem to bemoan this development, the wide response has been incredibly supportive of the 16-year-old taking power in the nation. Remnant government officials await Eli Maddock's inauguration speech tomorrow in order to gauge what path the new leader will take his small northern nation down.

Lundinium, Antonius – After several days of intense negotiations with a Fronslandish delegation, the Roman negotiators secured Antonius Island back into Roman control. The 3 day negotiations happened behind closed doors, with no leaks on the Roman side. The final agreement was that the Novus Imperium Roman would sign a 99 year lease with Fronsland, in exchange for 100 million dollars a year. In addition, the Fronsland delegation demanded that an agreement be signed that the NIR would not declare war on Fronsland. This does not include wars where each side is called in as allies.

Fronslandish citizens were given the option to either leave or stay. If they stay, they would become subject to all Roman laws. The military also announced that there would be no path to citizens ship offered to these people. They would remain civilians.

Caesar Octavian is set to visit the island in the next several days, after the military has finished securing it. His visit will include a meeting with the newly appointed regional commander, High Legate Kaeso Nigidius Genialis, in the Governmental Palace. It is also known that a military parade will occur during the Caesar’s visit, featuring Legios IX and XII, both of which are currently securing the island.

With the easy capitulation of Fronsland, and the reclamation of Antonius, the Roman government is now focusing on Octavianus Island, currently under control by the Manatee Maters. This sub human species has held the Roman island for several hundred years. This island will fall as quickly as Antonius, as they are spineless fish.

IGL-1 Details

The 1st International Gladiatorial Championship has officially commenced! Sixteen of the best fighters have been chosen from the ranks of the IGL, the bracket of which can be found here.

The first round is broken into eight matches, with winners moving on to compete further. Matches are determined by submission or death, so it is possible for a loser to survive a match with their lives intact, but not their pride or record. This has been much anticipated in the URA specifically and the GRCS in general as popularity of gladiatorial games have risen in recent years.

There are many favorites in IGL 1. First and foremost is Chrom Averin, the reigning champion in the URA's penal gladiator leagues, having worked himself up through the various levels of leagues to his current spot as #1. Other favorites include Tyrell Lee and Kael Rothar, both early-generation cybernetic implant recipients. Lee, a career criminal and fighter, received his implants as a sponsorship program to commute his sentence and "go pro" in the league. Rothar, an ex-law enforcement officer injured in the line of duty, also received implants to regain his sight in exchange for fighting in the leagues.

While mostly Remnant and GRCS members, there are foreigners in IGL 1. Pomponia Fabiola, is not only one of three women in IGL 1, but also a Roman career gladiator sent to represent her country and continent in IGL 1. Additionally, Vacifican fighter Íomhar Aristomache has joined the first championship tournament to test his mettle and represent the non-GRCS nations on the continent of Luscios.
