[TURTLESHROOM II]

Nation: Kingdom of the United Turtles, Mushrooms, and Men of TurtleShroom

Tier: TurtleShroom has aspects of Tiers Four and Five, with small forays into Six (it would be most logical to class us as low Tier Five). Although TS has space flight capabilities and many statellites, they have never sent a creature into space. TurtleShroom does not have fusion bombs (though they are on the cusp of it) and the research into artificial sentience is illegal. Manual labor and agrarianism are sitll dominant. Computers exist and are widespread as toys, but the Internet is limited to crude file-sharing, bulliten board chat systems and first generation LAN gaming. Outside of computing, analog operations and paper are almost ubitiquous. All of TurtleShroom is electrified and all of TurtleShroom has wells that connect to some form of indoor plumbing, though (sanitary) outhouses are still common. Only the biggest cities have a central water network. Even cities use septic tanks, only the richest parts of Jonesboro (our capital) have a sewage system.

Level: Our sentient mushrooms have full and total telekenisis (they have no hands) and levitate as their locomation, putting them square on Tier Four. Most of our Haiz minority (a subspecies of humans originally engineered as docile slaves) are Tier Five and can communicate telepathically, but cannot read minds. More powerful Haiz are Tier Six, but they do not exist in TurtleShroom. Magic/sorcery/witchcraft are strictly illegal in TurtleShroom. The only "magic" that is legal to exist in TS is the telekinesis and locomotion of the mushrooms, soley because it is the only way they can move and interact. The "magic" is in fact biological and not arcane.

Type: Type Five. TurtleShroom has puppets in its region and can topple or help topple foreign states. TurtleShroom can fend off invasions by far higher Tiers by attrition and patience.

Special Notes about your civilization: TurtleShroom is home to three primary species: humans (majority), sentient turtles, and sentient mushrooms.
