Antarctica isn't actually that huge, it just looks that way. It is only 14 000 000 km2 compared to the 24 000 000 km2 that North America has, with 565 million. Russia (the largest country by area) has 17 000 000 km2, with only 143 million people. It really is not that big, and quite inhospitable.
