What would be a suitable (if any) replacement for the G3A3 rifle currently employed for the Greek national army?

1. Why does it need replacing? It's a perfectly sensible rifle.
2. Any assault rifle used by any major military, preferably one chambered in 5.56 and using STANAG magazines.

I just thought old = bad, but I am obviously quite wrong on this side here. And, I will have a look at those, thanks.

To be fair, there aren't any upgrades to make. Either the G36 is as close to perfect as an infantry rifle can be, or it's irredeemably bricked. No amount of upgrading will improved it regardless.

It is morally torn between spending money on the armed forces and purchasing HK416s, or keeping a "bad" rifle and letting the body bags stack.

It wasn't made in WWII. It is for eating up interwar tanks and doing significant damage to WWII tanks.


What about a sabot for WWII? Is making a gun use sabots as simple as just putting a new cartridge in the gun or does it need rechambering and stuff?

One thing that's kinda odd about this is that early tanks didn't have much in the way of armor, so it didn't take a whole lot to penetrate it. Most of the anti-tank rifles of the interwar era seem to be between 7.92mm and 13.5mm.
