I am trying to solve the issue of firing ports with FAMAS style surrender handle.

As surrender handle is mandatory, it must stay. So how do I make firing ports work with it?

A slightly longer barrel so you can stick it out?

Maybe have the firing ports have a tubular extension that serves to clear the handle from the wall of the IFV?

Would probably make using them a bit more awkward though, but I dunno.

Well like I said the gladius is probably the most versatile sword in terms of everything, combat/labour/food, that you'll come across. I might just use it later on too.

Sevvania was founded in 1885, and didn't really have a standardized fighting force until the turn of the century (which is when they adopted the Mosin). Prior to that, I guess they used whatever civilian rifles were on hand. I'm not sure of the specifics, though. Does anyone have any ideas?

Pretty much all the cool mid to late 19th century guns were availble to civilians so you could have a fun mix of everything from spencers and winchesters to martini henrys to early remignton lee rifles.


Of course Palmer-Burton Magazine Muskets would also be availble in large numbers to any civilian market that had people who wanted/were allowed them:

These are good suggestions though, I'd not previously considered the Martini-Henry. I could probably take some of those and convert them to grenade launchers when WWI rolls around.

Fun fact. Civilian firearms ownership in Purpelia only really declined when stricter laws were introduced in the late 19th century. That's also when half of my firearms industry died leading to me having to import a foreign cartridge for the model 1890 rifle.

I was considering firing port weapons.
Then I was reading combatreform.
Then I read more on firing port weapons.

But now I'm thinking of maybe just giving the IFV an extra belt fed MG or two, with remote mounts.
With the ability for the MG to be dismounted easily and used by the section.

Or dedicated firing port weapons. Not sure yet.

I am considering restructuring my section again too.
