The difference is rather stark, much like the difference between a UAZ-469 and a BRDM-2.
SO, what must I use in an infantry BCT? A Humvee or a Commando?

Skirmishers didn't use darts, legionaries did. I just give mine a heavy javelin too because fuck it, short range blamo, walking stick and half assed spear.
The string doesn't really need to be drawn

You are under no obligation to change the design based on this criticism, but continuing to argue in the face of facts will not bode well for you. Further, if you are unsure as to a design element, ask. If someone asks and you do not know the answer, don't respond. Speak on subjects you know, don't attempt to bullshit. Finally, there are plenty of people in this thread, both new and old, who have knowledge regarding a vast array of military technologies, try to learn from them. Dispute if you will, but be prepared to use facts to back up your claims.

B) Pin the fucking cloak at the shoulder or do what legionaries did, anything but the ridiculous Superman cape.
C) What is seriously going on with the javelin and those darts? They look ridiculous to throw and it looks like you're trying to make them both skirmishers and heavy infantrymen.
D) He's not going to be able to tie his armor together if he doesn't have any thonging to do it.

Alright, so seriously, vambraces weren't ever actually used in the ancient world? When did they come to be a thing? This is actually pretty interesting to me now because I'd figure that the arms were also covered. Why weren't they used? Were they simply too hard to make, or just no one thought of it?

Vambraces started to be worn by knights during the transition to full plate armor, so about a thousand years after the ultimate fall of the Roman Empire. They weren't used for the same reason modern soldiers don't wear doorknobs slung off their shoulders. There was no point and they served no purpose.
Although there are a couple exceptions. The one that's coming to mind is the Romans making slaves wear a specific wrist cuff, but I can't get any more detailed than that.
