This alloy might be my direct replacement for steel in lead-free bullets, since it's got a density just 1g/cm^3 short of lead.

A few questions:
1) Feasible as bullet material Y/N
2) Can have the potential to replace steel Y/N

A few more unrelated:
1) What were the issues that the M4/M16 faced when firing M855A1?

I'm pretty sure hardened steel is close to 1k vickers harness and that's only around 260 so you be the judge.

Do NATO greentips use hardened or mild steel?

Nah, everything Vlad the Cool Guy did regarding pikes is pretty much true. If I'm correct the people he piked often lasted for days on that pike before death, without lubing.

Its debatable.
Perforation of the anus and the intestine, among other things, is liable to make you hemorrhage to death, or go septic quite quickly. LoC is definitely a significant factor and I would say you're just likely to die from sudden, massive trauma all the same. I dont know the specifics of the poles that Uncle Vlad used, but as far as I can figure (from experience) it would be a crap shoot. I can not say for certainty that 95% of the population would live/die through it, because it would be way more varied than that.
But I would say a great deal of it is probably exaggerated by people who really did want to believe, you know, there was a dude out there this edgy, and just took the myths and legends at mostly face value.

The sight of 20,000 corpses would have been a significantly large city, probably a pretty significant percentile of Târgoviște, if not ALL of it, given its historic population growth/declines. By my estimate that would be 1 in 25 of all of Wallachias population.

This is a young alloy. It has potential to be as boner-hard as Erik Everhard, if done right.

I guess I might want to search for a titanium-zirconium-beryllium-molybdenum alloy, if I can find one.

The question of NATO greetips using mild or hardened steel: it's also my question, and even then what specific grade of steel are they using, ex. 2800 Maraging?

I'm not NATO, but I use greentips with hardened steel U12A, similar to 5.45 7N22.

Meanwhile I am thinking of nanocrystalline steel greentip ammo right now. Nanocrystalline steel penetrators Y/N?

We all know that doctrine, production costs and all sorts of other things prevented the american army from using the BAR as a replacement for every rifle. And I am inclined to say they were right. But if you will let us delve into the hypothetical. How would an army whose squads are armed exclusively with BAR's perform in WW2? As in just take your average american army and every time you read "rifle" replace with BAR.

I'm of the mindset that a lightened BAR like the Colt Monitor could have functioned as a service rifle well into Vietnam and negated the need for a "transitional" post-war service rifle like the M14.

@Crookfur: The mag definitely changes the aesthetic. The lack of magazine in the first image was one of the things that was confusing me. "Is it fed from the right side? Does it have an internal magazine?" Mag through the grip sounds like it'd be pretty sweet, though.

It's a little over twice as expensive as copper, almost 7 times more expensive than lead, and about 18 times more expensive than steel. On the bright side, it is half the price of tungsten.

There are 2-3 small arms that kind of qualify, which have seen limited use with special forces.

How is 7mm micro caliber? 6-8 mm is basically the standard for the past 120 years.
