What is the Coalition of Pony States?
The Coalition of Pony States is a forum roleplaying group that is dedicated to roleplaying all things My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic in the NationStates setting. We welcome all kinds of show-based and pony-populated nations in order to create a cohesive setting and a friendly roleplaying environment that incorporate characters and elements from the show.
More broadly, we are a Fantasy Tech roleplaying group which recognizes the existence of magic and fantasy creatures (primarily those encountered in the MLP series, but beyond that as well), also affiliated with such FanT groups as Mystria and Screw Realism. We welcome all sorts of creative fantasy roleplayers seeking to emulate the MLP experience.
Our primary goal is to provide a friendly roleplaying setting that isn't constrained by notions of hard realism and aims to create fun roleplay experiences for MLP fans and fantasy afficionados alike. If ponies and magic are your thing, you're always welcome here.
What is our tech level?
Our default tech level is Modern Fantasy. That is to say, we're running MLP and fantasy themes set in a modern technological and geopolitical setting: ponies with guns, nukes, computers and representative democracies.
We however welcome players of all tech levels, from past to future. Doesn't matter if you're a medieval kingdom, a modern democracy or an interstellar empire; we'll find a way to work with you. The only requirement we have is that you recognize the existence of fantasy creatures and magic and subscribe to the group's goals and rules. We look for fun roleplay opportunities not limited by tech level or notions of hard realism.
What is our stance on MLP canon?
Canonical Equestria exists within the CoPS universe and all events have taken place as shown in the show. Though we're willing to accomodate alternate universe scenarios if they can make for interesting roleplay. Other independent nations exist around Equestria, engaging in diplomacy, trade and warfare. Canon characters exist, like Princess Luna, and if you want to incorporate one into your canon, discuss it with other players first, though we encourage the usage of original characters and settings.
Most roleplay is to be centered in the Pony Lands region though we welcome players of different regions and nations. Currently we're in the process of revising our established canon so your nation can have a major impact on group canon and history. We are always supporting of all forms of worldbuilding and roleplay.

(Don't bother with filling this form like you're at an exam. We are inclusive and will consider all cases. This form is merely there for us to learn something about your nation and help create roleplaying ideas and opportunities.)
Rules:
1) Follow the forum rules, this goes without saying.
2) Treat your fellow players with due respect. Be inclusive. Friendship is magic and all that jazz.
3) Be courteous in your roleplay; don't write stories "to win", wank or godmod. Follow the roleplayer code of honor at all times and aim to provide quality storytelling.
4) This is a roleplaying group, not just an MLP fan club. If you just want to discuss the show or join only because you're a fan, this thread might be the right place for you instead. We are looking for roleplayers who are willing to recognize and roleplay the existence of ponies and various show themes.
Our 24/7 IRC channel: #nscops at http://irc.rizon.net. All applicants, members and guests are welcome to drop by to chat. Since most of RP discussion and OOC chat takes place on the IRC rather than NS-side, we encourage all comers to frequent the channel.
If you're new to IRC, simply use https://client00.chat.mibbit.com/. Pick Rizon as a server from the drop-down menu and then connect to #nscops. Or you may use any other client to your liking (we personally recommend kVirc).
Recommended threads for worldbuilding and nation maintenance:
- The Celestial Chronicle: News thread, formatted as a website that collates various news pieces from around the pony world. Feel free to post any kind of news articles about ongoing events in your nation.
- A Day in the Life: Free-form thread for all kinds of short stories about your nation. If you have a story idea that doesn't warrant its own thread - be it a day from the life of your average citizen, for example, any historical event or worldbuilding piece, or an introduction for a new character you plan on using later - you're welcome to post it here.
