Faceless are not officially categorized as a warlike species, although we are known for our somewhat bloody history. The Faceless themselves can become quite violent once irritated, which led to a multitude of small and large wars throughout our planetary timeline.

While the very first "war" ever fought between Ythijen phenotypes has been lost to time, it is widely assumed that war has always been a defining trait of our societies, back when the ancient Krith civilization waged war on neighboring city-states in an aggressive expansion series, until they were wiped out too.

Skipping into the medieval and industrial eras, the Jiren and the Firsonnin were historically known to hold a bitter hatred towards one another, which begun when the Firsonnin started poaching Jiren individuals for their resilient scales. A nuclear war was also held between the Imoya and the Koyt, although the damage caused has since (mostly) resided.

When we invented our first FTL drives, we begun our interstellar empire in a relatively neutral, isolationist manner. Then, we got a bit picky with our dwindling resources and realized we had to subjugate a few minor races here and there to keep the entirety of the YC alive.

Today, the only "wars" we are involved in occasionally surround skirmishes with galactic pirates and small empires.

World Spore War I: Was neutral until in the latter half of the war, when Britannia (not Hammer Britannia, a different Britannia in our canon) started to take over our country. We eventually pushed them out, and with our navy, we wiped out some territories of the Britannic.

[Zhouran]

Considering Zhouran's history spanning several millennia, there's too much wars from ancient and medieval times to list. With the Zhouranese People's Army, having been conducting various military expeditionary operations abroad and overseas military-operations-other-than-war (MOOTW) every year for decades since the 1960s & 70s, there's also too much wars to list as well. However right now due to the global shift to unconventional asymmetrical warfare, Zhouran has been recently involved in military operations in Nigeria and South Sudan against insurgents and rebel groups, while anti-piracy operations in places such as the Gulf of Aden, Gulf of Guinea, and the South China Sea have been conducted by the ZPA Navy for several years now.

[Nantuvia]

Our nation was founded in 1305 CE and has always been itching for a fight at all times. Here is our long and crazy history of war.

1305-1338: The Great War of the Portivian Plain - Victory - In 1305 a man by the name of Gaius Nantuvius, a resident of the nation of Portivia, gathered up an army and declared independence from Portivia along with about 15,000 men (population of Portivia was roughly 57,000 although accounts vary). Nantuvia, over the course of the next 33 years, just kept taking more and more and more of Portivia until they had gathered every last province. This was the beginning of Nantuvia, with Gaius Nantuvius being named the first Grand Emperor.

1436-1437: The Portivian Revolution - Victory - The last remaining Portivian loyalists, of which there were about 10,000, had suffered great persecution under the Nantuvian Regime and eventually decided to try and fight back. They fought valiantly enough but were fairly easily crushed within a year.

1482-1606: The Great Clif-Nantuvian War - Victory - Nantuvia in 1482 provoked a neighboring Empire, the empire of Indiclifia, into war by announcing its superiority over them. Nobody could have guessed that this would lead to a conflict that would span 124 years, one of the longest conflicts in history. It was a drawn out war of attrition where territories were constantly being gained and lost, with nobody having the obvious upper hand until 1603 when Nantuvia took a big Indiclifian military sector, Terrentia, after the Battle of Fort Terrens. This is one of the greatest battles in Nantuvian history and one that everyone has heard about within the country even to today, and from there it was all downhill for Indiclifia. The last remaining province of Indiclifia surrendered in 1606 and Nantuvia's territory was nearly tripled through the conflict.

1672: The Battle of Klicindra - Defeat - The Nantuvian port city of Klicindra got ambushed randomly by a band of about 16,000 pirates. The city was lost by Nantuvia, but that didn't exactly last long because....

1672: The Rape of Klicindra/The Dark Year - Victory - This battle could only be described as one thing: gruesome. The pirates had taken the city of Klicindra and it's fair to say that Grand Emperor Farintius Rex was PISSED. The pirates could have been expelled with three Nantuvian legions but Rex's anger was so great that he sent 1500 legions to the city (Nantuvia had 1700 legions to its name at the time, and it was one of the largest militaries of the era). 1500 legions was about 7.5 MILLION soldiers. For 16,000 pirates. 7.5 million soldiers. Fair to say that the pirates were handily defeated, but that would be an understatement.

First, all the pirates were killed obviously. Not one survived. Second, all of the pirates were skinned from head to toe. Third, they were all impaled with spikes and put on display outside the city gates. Half of the city was also set on fire in the ensuing chaos. It was a ROUGH day to be a pirate or a resident of Klicindra. This battle resulted in countless revolutions throughout Nantuvia, which were all crushed but were also too plentiful to mention, and it has been widely regarded as one of Nantuvia's biggest mistakes because it annihilated the Nantuvian economy because it had to spend so much on crushing the revolutions.

1783-1790: The War of Valkomnia - Victory - This war was fought between Nantuvia and a nearby country called Yandun over a disputed territory, that being Valkomnia. Valkomnia was an important territory because it was bigger in land mass than either of the participating countries and had an abundance of natural resources. The war between Nantuvia and Yandun was relatively short but it was very hard fought and Nantuvia barely managed to beat Yandun on August 2, 1789 at the Battle of Valkom Port. With Valkomnia claimed by Nantuvia as it's new colony, and with it coming a large amount of new military recruits, Nantuvia was also able to commence an invasion of Yandun and claim it as a colony as well after defeating them at the Battle of Clitarn (Yandunian capital) on June 1, 1790.

1802-1806: The Invasion of Nanmaldon - Victory - Shortly before Yandun was defeated one of their territories, a military district called Nanmaldon, declared independence from Yandun which the Yandunian government quickly allowed knowing that hope was lost in the war against Nantuvia. As such, when Yandun was defeated Nanmaldon was independent, had a military presence, and shared a border with the sea. After ten years of internal debate within Nantuvia, Grand Emperor Jonius Sandoval declared war on Nanmaldon. Admittedly, Nanmaldon put up a valiant effort against Nantuvia, but the Nantuvian military was ultimately too strong with the two new colonies and Nanmaldon finally crumbled in July of 1806. For their efforts, which were shockingly commended rather than punished by Jonius Sandoval, Nanmaldon got to be it's own colony and became Nantuvia's most important colony militarily and politically. With Nantuvia's military might proven, the rest of the 19th and early 20th centuries proved to be rather quiet for Nantuvia as other nations feared its power.

1939-2005: The Great Colinian-Nantuvian War - Draw - During World War II, the nation of Coliniana pledged its support to the Allied Powers so long as they did not have to fight, as they delivered weapons and supplies to Great Britain and France via aircraft. On their route to deliver to these countries, the planes had to fly over the Nantuvian Empire, and on September 3, 1939, a Colinian plane malfunctioned and crashed into a Nantuvian military base located in Nanmaldon. Nantuvia demanded monetary compensation for what was lost in the crash, but Coliniana pleaded saying that they had no economic resources to spare. Enraged by this, Nantuvia declared war.

Given that Nantuvia and Coliniana are located fairly far away from each other, combat between the two countries was very difficult and consisted of mostly naval battles. These naval battles proved to be far more deadly than a ground battle, and it basically became a war of who could continue to fight for the longest. Aside from each country occasionally taking a small island possession from the other, nobody really ever gained the upper hand. By 2005 the total casualties of the war had exceeded 100 million and there was still no end in sight after nearly seventy years. When it seemed like the war would go on forever, Colinian Diplomatic Consul Daniella Anders came in. After somehow negotiating a deal that satisfied both nations, she nearly single-handedly ended the war.

Well, since we started out as the Hamidi Beylik in the 13th century on a little warlord state the size of a modern sanjak and today span several continents this is going to be quite the list. I'll start here and move it to a factbook later. Good idea, might write down a consecutive history of the Imperial conquests.

The Warlord Era - Ey Gâzîler!

ca. 1270 - Hamid Ghazi and his family establish themselves as independent from the waning seldjuk empire, as do many other former beys under the seldjuks. Anatolia is parted in about a dozend "beyliks", among the new rulers is also Osman Gazi in the north-west and Hamids cousin Teke in the south. The rivalry of Hamid with his cousin will dominate the next decades, but they maintain an insecure alliance for about the first few years.
Of the history of these early days only few sources remain, the official records establish Hamid as a wise father to his men, fierce warlord and shrewd and ruthless general.
ca. 1265 - Hamid and his sons Abdul and Ertugrul capture Isparta after a long siege. The small fortress of Isparta now secures the Haminid rule and ends the nomadic life of the tribe. Much the same happens in other beyliks, with more or less success. Teke however watches his cousin with mistrust: the Teke Beylik has flourished the last decade, the port of antalya and the fertile coast generating good revenue and the troops of Emir Teke are numerous. They see their Haminid brothers as backward mountain nomads, bearded and braided barbarians... the barbarians having defeated a fortress however is worrying.
ca. 1280 - Storied have it that Hamid insulted teke at a feast,. the official chronics say it was the other way around, whatever reason it really was the war began supposedly in 1281: The riders of hamid start their destruction of the Teke fief. The Emir assembles his rather proferssional army to get rid of the attacking barbarians.
1290 - conquest of the Teke Beylik and capture of Antalya.

Hamid Ghazi and his warriors storm his cousins' fortress of Antalya and capture the first sea port of their state. Hamid himself, already over 60 years old, leads his last campaign and is crowned as Emir of Antalya. The founder dies a year into his rule, leaving his state to his favourite son Abdul.
