Automobiles in your nation

Postby Li Qing » Sat Aug 08, 2015 5:32 pm

What is the leading car brand in your nation (if you even get around with cars)? Are hybrids/electrics common?

In Li Qing, RL (real life) car brands from foreign countries are most common, particularly Japanese ones as well as cars imported from Muralos (one of the regional economic superpowers). German ones are popular among the elite too. As Li Qing is a very environmentally friendly nation though, public transport is just as favored as private cars; diesels, EVs + hybrids can also be seen on the nation's streets, as batteries + charging infrastructure are extremely well-developed in the country. The Honda Accord Hybrid is the most popular low-end option, the Mercedes B-class is common in upper middle-class households, and celebrities are seen driving Tesla Model S cars.
Li Qing has one main national car brand, which was a branch of the former Chinese state-owned company "Hongqi" (literally "red flag.") This brand is simply called "Guochan" (nationally made). It's not a stupid name though- after all, the name of the RL car brand Nissan is similar; it literally means "Japanese made." A modified Guochan sedan (in fact, an electric vehicle) is used for the President's appearances in other countries.

All Arcadian cars are fully electric. With the advent of clean, cheap power generated by our advanced Arkadium-type reactors, we have fully replaced all of our fuel stations with electrical charge stations. And with advances in battery and power regeneration technologies, all but the most cheap Arcadian-made cars are superior in terms of range compared to their gas-guzzling counterparts. We have multiple automobile manufacturers, with Skaren Industries proving to be one of the most popular for their combination of luxury, reliablity, range, and affordability of their vehicles.

On another, unrelated note, we also have an extensive trans-nation subway and bus system. It's very, very efficient.

Automobiles are very prevalent in Ventalia, with a variety of powertrains available. Compact cars with diesel engines are the most popular, followed by small SUVs. This is more about practicality than price, and many premium small cars exist on the market.

It should be noted that while public transport and bicycles are actually the most popular forms of transport in urban areas, there are some 550 cars per 1000 people in Ventalia. Many urbanites own cars even though they might not drive them on a daily basis.

The most popular vehicle in Ventalia is the Bonn Stella, a compact (C-segment) automobile produced by Ventalia's Bonn Motors SA. The 5-door hatch is the most popular variant, outselling the 3-door hatch and sedan models. Most have one of the sub-2.0 engines. In the countryside, however, older large cars and pickups tend to be more popular.

Bonn Motors SA is Ventalia's largest domestic brand and has enjoyed modest export success. The company has been hugely involved in the R&D of electric and hydrogen vehicles; most models have electric and hydrogen engine options alongside standard gas and diesel options.

Fossil fuel is banned, so we only use and produce electric, hydrogen, etc. cars. Pampa is the leading car brand, which is produced in Anollasia.

We pretty much have all the standard Japanese or Korean cars in our nation. Hyundai, Toyota, Honda, etc.

But they're hovercars instead of rolling on wheels. It's pretty much just like normal cars, but they hover and they're entirely electric or solar powered.

Automobiles are very common in Adab. The most popular brands are German: Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen, and Audi. Among the Japanese, Toyota and Honda have made quite a significant foothold here, although not enough to beat the German brands. They do dominate the luxury market through Lexus and Acura, respectively.

Most people in Halfblakistan either can't afford a car or choose not to own one, insted opting for a bike, motorcycle or the nation's extensive public transit system.

Domestic Halfblakistani cars, though, are widely regarded as terrible, and are noted for their poor craftsmanship. Selim Wolker, the nation's President, is a notorious pedestrian who dislikes driving. The "Spirit" electric car for example -the most common domestic car- is a four-door sedan that is known for its battery dying after little more than 100,000 km. Most who can afford it opt for foreign imports.

Automobiles are a rarity in Brellach, a reasonably poor (by international standards) country with an excessive, faith-influenced zeal for environmental protection. Current estimates place car ownership in Brellach at less than 2 per 1,000 people, and many of these are jointly-owned between families and even entire neighbourhoods, with their usage - and thus expenses - being shared. Most of these vehicles tend to be imported from abroad, and are invariably off-road capable due to the poor nature of Brellach's limited road network. This tends to mean differing numbers of old Jeeps, Land Rovers and the like.

Intranational travel is more likely to be accomplished by rail, and for shorter journeys most people still rely on animal locomotion.

the most popular brand is the Crusader jvpp0100 or the Mercenary class. very popular with the citizens of the nation, as 2 in every 7 people own cars. and you have a 70% chance of seeing that car painted in fantastically eye pleasing colors. if you don't drive that, you are either too young or too old to drive.

Cars are quite popular, the auto industry is essential to our economy and car culture is huge. A huge custom car scene exists as well, with many niches, from ultra lowered cars with extended exhausts, extreme negative camber and cartoonish body modifications to expressway racers that sometimes push into four-digit horsepower ratings to snotty econoboxes modified into rally cars for late night mountain pass racing.

What would you expect from a country that requires proficiency with a manual transmission in order to qualify for a driver's license (barring a physical disability preventing one from operating the clutch pedal)?

Trelatcheans are very accustomed to motor vehicle traffic, and has not lagged behind the rest of the world when it comes to it. Automobiles are the number 1 form of transport, just behind rail.

Despite the excellent public transport system in Estrago, cars are a crucial means of getting around, especially in the more rural, less densly populated areas.
In the past the most common car brand was the domestic manufacturer Gallea. After the company stopped making cars (turning towards busses and lorries) forgeign cars became ever more popular.
At the moment most new cars registered are Volkswagen. Other popular manufacturers are Audi, Volvo, BMW, Mercedes, Toyota and Subaru. American cars often are not allowed for sale due to their poor fuel efficiency or lack of safty systems.

The most common car is the Volkswagen Golf. Generally speaking the hatchback is the most popular type of car followed by the estate car and the (compact) SUV. The estate is loosing ground to the SUV, though.

Most cars in Estrago have petrol engines, because fuel taxes on diesel are higher than they are for petrol. Hybrid cars are very rare, mainly because there are no financial incentives to buy one (no tax cut, etc.) Purely electric cars are even rarer, because cars are legaly not allowed to carry batteries of "substantial" size, hence all electric cars are small and have low range figures.

Auzkhia invented the car (thanks to two brilliant engineers from Württemberg), and Auzkhians love their cars, if not they take the bus or trains.

The bestselling car is the VW Golf, and the models from Ford, Opel, Renault, and Fiat. Auzkhia's most well known marques are VW, Skoda, Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, and Alfa Romeo. Many smaller ones exist like Gräf-und-Stift, KTM, and Steyr.

Auzkhian cars are usually compact hatchbacks, and sometimes bigger sedan cars, mostly because cities still have medieval roads, despite 19th century wide roads being built.

Earl Automotive Limited, headquartered in Odin, consisting of the brands Earl, Quaker, Hermes, and Muntz.
Unified Motor Company, headquartered in Odin, consisting of the brands Lafayette, Silverhare, Swain, and Lassiter.
Patridian Motors Corporation, headquartered in Llanview, consisting of the brands Wannamker, Cortez, Swashbuckler, and Stafford.

It's worth noting that no cars manufactured in Patridam would be considered smaller than midsize by international standards, and that no cars have engines of less than six cylinders.

Most people in the ISA outside of the elites and royalty can not afford personal cars so they either ride the train, bus, bike, or walk to work or where ever they need to go.

But the elites and royalty drive the IA "Imperial Autos" model High U compact car this is mainly in the major cities. The IA is the north American branch of Hyundai Motors and they work in conjunction with Honda and Mercedes Benz to develop the High U.

High U a small compact car used by the elites and royalty of Imperial States America most High U cars are made in Japan and North Korea and that's why they look so advanced compared to 99% of the domestically produced vehicles in the ISA and shipped to Canada where they are then shipped by rail to the ISA market.

Well, we're Germany. You have a lot of native produced cars to choose from: Mercedes, Volkswagen, Porsche, BMW, Opel (GM subsidiary), to name a few. We also import cars from many other brands. Toyotas and Hondas are not that rare of a sight. Fords can be seen on our streets as well. Most cars a gas powered, with the exception of Smarts (produced by Mercedes), which are seen more often in cities and not as often on the Autobahns. Tesla's are present but rare.

Because of Fatatatutian culture - e.g. there is no tradition of private property ownership - some features such as door locks are left out of the new parts. The typical engine size is 500cc.
