What Was Your Nations Most Important Historical Event

[Tayosia]

Every country has some historical event that changed their history forever. For Tayosia, it was the Battle for Life of the Horrid Wars. In this battle Arukai, leader of of the Tayosian Rebel Force, challenged Dorkar, known as the Horrid Death King, to a duel. Arukai defeated Dorkar, bringing an end to Dorkar's evil reign and ending one of the deadliest wars in world history. This put an end to the monarchy and put us on a path to becoming the republic we are now. That was my country's most important historical event, what's yours?

[Aloia]

Aloia's most important historical event was the Uppsala Synod, when the Church of Aloia formally adopted the Augsburg Confession as its statement of faith, and Aloia officially became a Lutheran kingdom. This event led to a series of religious wars, ending in the Treaty of Eriksburg, and the creation of one of Aloia's most significant principles, the protection of religious freedom.

The most important single event in modern Owinn history was the Battle of Dunon Hill in 1898.

Erwan Mael Alan's most integral unit of riflemen, "Alan's Rifles," truly became something at Dunon Hill. The 1st Rifle Regiment of the Royal Owinn Army is still called "Alan's Rifles," and their motto is "Dunon Hill!" The Owinn Army 50th Armored Cavalry Regiment also has roots in Alan's horse troops during the war, and their motto is "faugh a ballagh!" meaning "clear the way!" which is believed to have been their cry as they engaged Nationalist forces in battle.

So yeah Dunon Hill was probably the most important relatively modern event for Shanowinn, though the 1898 Unification in general is the most important series of events.

This could go to two events:

1. The Collapse, when the Earth became uninhabited and transformed into its current waterworld state. While it has calmed down, indeed resettlement efforts are ongoing, it will likely never regain the importance to humanity it once held. The Republic was formerly the Lunar Authority, a multi-nation scientific outpost on the Moon that eventually grew large enough to develop a culture and gain a seat in the U.N. When the Collapse began, the Lunar Authority was swamped with refugees. While much of humanity perished during the Collapse, significant amounts made it to the Moon. Massive overcrowding was the result. While this has since been rectified with the construction of thousands of new Lunar Compounds, it is only now that Earth can be resettled that the Moon may actually once again be free from overpopulation. The Collapse destroyed the nations of Earth, essentially annihilated the world economic system, and directly led to the dominance of the Republic over most of humanity as well as the unhindered implementation of its radical economic policies.

2. The First Incursion, when a hostile alien presence emerged from the Outer Solar System and assaulted Mars during the height of the Solar War (though it was actually a war over Mercury) between the New Earth Republic and the Martian Eugenocracy. While the Incursion was eventually defeated, it required the joint efforts of the Republic and Eugenocracy and effectively ended the Solar War. This led to the current New Cold War, where neither polity is willing to engage the other for fear that a new Incursion will occur during the war. Indeed, two more Incursions have occurred since then though they were more easily repelled due to prior experience. The Outer Solar System has also been written off as hostile territory, as it is full of aliens, and the Asteroid Belt is considered the furthest extent of human civilization. Since the rise of the Alliance of Free Cities on previously-Republican Venus, they have emerged as a third faction as well. Though they lack the sheer power of the Republic or Eugenocracy, they are powerful enough to act as kingmaker and are a permanent wildcard. Neither the Republic or Eugenocracy is sure who the Alliance would side with in a new Solar War.

[Brellach]

The signing of The Compact in 1056 A.D. between what is now the Holy Queendom and the tribes who live within is the single-most important event in Brellachi history. Known within the country as 'The Arrival of She Who Was Sent by Her to Save Brellach', the event brought a permanent end to hostilities between urbanised Brellachi and the tribes, established the Holy Queendom as a unified nation, and established the position of Divine Queen.

[Irona]

The generally accepted most important historical event for Irona as the creation of 'commonlaw' in pre-history. Nobody is quite sure how commonlaw became so widespread over so many different Islands and nations while suffering almost no variation from one end of Irona to the other. There are however dozens of different myths and legends coming from all regions of Irona as to it's creation. Common Law formed a basis of legality through out Irona's history despite Irona being such a patchwork of cultures and religions it also helped to create the identity of Irona and the joining together of all the nations that followed Commonlaw became an ambition for many throughout history.

[Tarlanita]

Tarlanita's greatest moment was its unification during the foreign invaders conflict known as the war of 7 tribes. This war united the seven tribes and started the first midas dynasty.

[Helltank]

The Subsumation, in which the Supreme Overlord led a 1 day revolt that allowed him to permanently seize control of the old, crumbling Republic.

The Toknapan Tsunami, in which the east of Toknapa started to fall into anarchy and was subsequently sank by a WMD.

[Riechelburg]

The 1922 secession of states from Germany which led to the formation of the Commonwealth, and independence.

[Keralia]

It could be either of the following:
*In 643, three states (the Kingdoms of Dupay, East Roria, and Villabeytia) unified to form the first 'stage' of Keralia,
*In 1554, after the abolishment of feudalism, even more petty states and allodial estates were absorbed into the Grand Principality of Keralia, thus extending it,
*In 1845, Keralia was officially recognised as a kingdom, and
*In 2015, HIRM The Emperor of Ferrodwiyin, together with the House of Grabe Council and the Ferrodwiyinian Council of Ministers, officially handed over to HM The King the administration and power over its territory.

[Rossyn]

• 381 AD: Rossyn splits off from the Roman Empire after its conversion to Christianity. It remains under Roman Influence, but Polytheism remains the primary religion in Rossyn. Many polytheists and traditional Romans immigrate to Rossyn to create a "Roman Homeland" amid Italian, French and Spanish divides.
• 476 AD: The Roman Empire collapses. Rossyn becomes a completely independent nation for the first time in its history.
• 873 AD: Rossyn seals its border shut due to the growth of Islam and Christianity, in order to preserve its old religion, culture and language.
• 1873: Rossyn finally re-opens it borders, and finds a whole new world of technology, culture and religion.
• 1928: The Rosyni monarchy is disestablished, and now operates as nothing more than ceremonial.

It's difficult to pick just one.

1650: British explorer James Anoll discovers Anollasia, colony of British Anolland founded

1686: Treaty of Anollasia signed, unification of both Anollands to form colony of Anollasia

[Soviet Polsol]

7 November 1917: Great Socialist October Revolution. The workers, peasants, intelligentsia, soldiers and veterans, led by the great Lenin, overthrew the capitalist government and established Soviet Polsol. Glory to the Leninist Party of Soviet Polsol, inventor and organiser of all our victories!

Probably the Lairendorian Civil War, in which the Republicans fought against the Monarchists with the goal of establishing a republic, which they succeeded in doing.

Either the development of rift generation technology, or the colonization of Tempest.

[Fatatatutti]

Every country has some historical event that changed their history forever.

Well, the "revolution" of the late 1800s prevented our history being changed forever.

In the mid 1800s, Fatatatutti was a stopover for whaling ships in need of fresh water and food. Toward the end of the century, we became a popular destination for white planters hoping to grow pineapples, etc. for export. However, the planters were not happy with the "relaxed" attitude of the Fatatatutian workers, so they brought in cheap labour from China. Unfortunately for them, though, the Fatatatutians insisted that the Chinese workers should have the same rights as they had. The planters responded by attempting to set up a monarchy with a puppet king controlled by themselves. That ended badly for the king. When the native Fatatatutians ignored his "rule", he tried to use mercenaries to force their compliance. In the resulting scuffle, the king was accidentally killed and eaten.

So, to this day all Fatatatutians, whether native or immigrant, maintain their relaxed attitude toward work.

[Russo-Byzantine Empire]

The victory of the Russian Empire over the Ottoman Empire in the War of Restoration in 1855, after which Tsar Nicholas I crowned himself Byzantine Emperor, leading to the formation of the Russo Byzantine Empire.

[Rhodevus]

History being such a long thing, there have been many events in Rhodevus's history that can be classified as important and even nation-changing. None can be classified as more important than the next, because without each of them, the nation Rhodevus, as it is seen today could never happen.
These events include
The Failed Rhodeve War of Independence, which showed the Rhodeve people that they would need to use diplomacy to achieve what they wanted, over war.
The Rise of the Rhodeve Empire, bringing the Rhodeve people to the forefront of technology and trade
The collapse of the Empire, bringing democracy to an end in Rhodevus and the rise of the monarchy
The communist/socialist threat, which helped determine Rhodevus's policies of social capitalism and a finalization of peace over war policies
The Rhodeve civil war, which lead Rhodevus to become unified in the face of oppression. As unified as it had been since the world wars.

Each event was an important historical event in Rhodevus's history.

[Nusantara Republic]

The most important event in Nusantaran history would be the Declaration of Union between Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, Philippines, Papua New Guinea, and East Timor, which marked the formation of the Republic of Nusantara / Nusantara Republic. The Declaration was signed by the 7 nations/territories in 1st December 1949 at Manila, Philippines.

And the Creation of the Catholic Empire of Menavolosia the very Next day.

A presitgeous day was the Regaining of the Caucasus and the Diplomatic Victory against NPE.

[Rentalla]

The reclamation war. In the early nineteen hundreds the Kingdom of Rentalla was conquered by a neighboring communist country. After a decade of oppression, and genocide, the Rentallan people rose up. it wasn't until the nineteen thirties that the war was over, but in the aftermath Rentalla become a major power on the world stage.

[Gandoor]

Either the Gandoor Revolution in 1902 that established our current government or our government's victory in the Gandoor Civil War in the 1950's, which ensured Gandoor would remain one nation.

[Noralia]

The Noralian Civil War (2008-2011). This surprise war left a mark on every Noralian living today. It is one of the reasons why the Noralian government always pursues a peaceful solution in every conflict, yet having a sufficient military in case the pursuit of a peaceful solution fails.
