All seats belong to the Union of Tegradian Communists, however each representative in the People's Assembly must be voted in by members of the public aged 16 and over every 5 years via provincial elections. Other political parties are allowed to operate (unless they are right-wing), however they may not ever hold any seats and are tightly regulated. Each province nominates 20 candidates who get a seat. For any law to be passed it needs to have a 50% approval rating of the People's Assembly. Moreover, when the presidential elections arrive (every five years), which ever candidate receives the most votes from the People's Assembly assumes power.

The Union of Tegradian Communists is a Marxist-Leninist political party, adhering most closely with the policies of Tito. They are self-described "Tepanovists" (in honour of the founder of the PSRT) which, according to the constitution, is the most revolutionary ideal and theory.
