The national animal of the Empire of Volzgrad is the Canis Lupus Lupus better known as the Eurasian or Taigan wolf. Wolves have always been highly respected if not revered animals in Volzgrad. This tradition dates back centuries, to the point where the first rulers of the city-state of Tsaringrad were known as Wilkrul, which translates roughly to 'King of Wolves.' The term 'wolf pack' has also been used to describe Volzgradian society due to its collectivist and nationalistic nature. Wolves feature heavily in Volzgradian coat of arms, both national and for prominent noble families.

The grendel. An adult, wild male grendel stands about five feet tall and (counting the tail) seven feet long. They are evolved from sea turtles and as such still have scales and the boney remains of a shell which is mostly under the skin of the back exept for on males on which some spikes stick out. The diet is predatory. Wild grendels use tools on the level of stone clubs in hunting. Once, as part of an army exparament some grendels where GMed for increaced brainpower (just think how much of a fighter one with an AK-47 is). The new grendels (us) where about a square foot bigger, stronger and much, much smarter. We took over the contry and now run it. Humans are simply food animals from our point of veiw.

The Black Twinheaded Eagle is a rare breed of Eagles, found only in Neo Prutenia. It is called this way because of its appearance. The Black Twinheaded Eagle is slightly smaller then ordinary Eagles, has very dark, black feathers, similar to a Raven, and contrary to popular belief, doesn't sport two heads. But, he has a gold/yellow beak, and feather of similar color and shape as his beak on the back of his head. When his head is watched in profile, it gives the impression as if he had two heads. In old times, he was also called the Axehead Eagle, as his head, naturally, also resembled the old Double Axes of medieval times.

The Black Twinheaded Eagle is a predator and survivalist, having nearly no natural enemies. He has perfect eyesight, and is able to navigate and fly in the night, similar to an owl. He is rather strong for his size, and very quick and endurable. He can easily outfly bigger birds and shred smaller ones. He tends to be more active during Night and in winter, but is perfectly capable to hunt during daylight and summer. Most biologists think the Black Twinheaded Eagle is a hybrid between Accipitridae(Eagles) and Strigiformes(Owls), so he still hasen't been classified and given a latin name. There are many wild theories as to why the Black Twinheaded Eagle evolved this way, but none seems to be conclusive as of now.

Black Twinheaded Eagles are capable of a rapid reproduction, if game if plentiful, and there are many issues regarding them in Neo Prutenia. There are seasons in each year, where hunters are encouraged to hunt Black Twinheaded Eagles to keep the population in check. As mentioned, due to a lack of natural enemies, this is a difficult and important task. There was a project underway to import another bird of prey to be his rival, but in never succeded because of many reasons, most human in nature. His diet consists of smaller birds, smaller to medium mamals and, fish, but only in spring, and oddly, snakes, and again, only in summer. He eats only prey he killed, or which is very, very fresh. His eating behavior has never been studied completely.

There is a very old tradition of keeping Black Twinheaded Eagles as companions, especailly by Hunters, descendants of the Nobility and army officers. The Black Twinheaded Eagle can be domesticated, but it takes quite some effort and time, mostly between 2 to 4 years. It is a very thankful, smart and reliable companion, but it tends to kill off any other animals in its owners vicinity, as it tolerates no competition. A weird fact is, that a domesticated Black Twinheaded Eagle still needs to hunt for his food, as he wont accept dead meat, so owners are forced to either supply him with prey animals, or let him hunt freely. This often results in a dead cat or dog for the owners neighbors. Since its establishment, the Black Twinheaded Eagle has been Neo Prutenias national animal, but currently the people are debating to replace it with the Amber Eyed Silver Wolf, as its aggressiveness, loyalty and pack mentality reminds more of a Prut then the stark individuality and selfishness of a Black Twinheaded Eagle.

Trivia - although the Black Twinheaded Eagle is one of the most, if not the most popular and recognizable animals in Neo Prutenia, there isn't a single sports team that has its name, do to respect of the animals capabilities. Sports teams can lose, the Black Twinheaded Eagle can't.

Hodori's national animal is a recent offshoot of the Bengal Tiger known as the Hodoran Tiger, because it has become the top predator in Hodori since its introduction in the 1920s.
It is also the only species of animal unique to Hodori, because it ate all the birds that used to inhabit Hodori before it was intorduced.

The Hodoran Tiger is slightly smaller and lighter than the Bengal Tiger, with a lighter-colored pelt. It is also mostly nocturnal, but is known to be active in the early morning, before the temperature and humidity reach unbearable levels. Due to the lack of natural prey, it has been known to eat people or anything else it can chase down, even competing tigers. Sightings tend to be rather rare, as it shies away from urban centers, but rural areas are known to have multiple tiger encounters in a single night, after which at least one person is usually reported missing and/or dead. According to the most recent population count, there are approximately 2,000 Hodoran Tigers in the entire Hodori Archipelago.

Of all attempts to domesticate the tiger, 98% ended with someone dying and getting eaten by a hungry tiger, with 95% having two or more fatalities and a well-fed tiger. The other 2% were failed attempts with no fatalities other than the tiger.

The Golden Boar Hawk, the symbol of Adria, is a bird endemic to the Adrian Forests, it has bright yellow-gold plumage, it is strong enough to carry a 200lbs boar of the ground kill it and then fly it to it's nest, though most of the time it hunts rabbits and other smaller critters, an apex hunter with small size, much like the Empire was in it's beginning
