The legality of adultery in Thermodolia depends on what your definition of marriage happens to be. In Thermodolia the state doesn't recognize marriage at all, believing that marriage is a purely religious construct. So in the eyes of the state adultery is legal but it can be grounds for divorce. While in the eyes of the religion you happen to belong to it may be illegal.

Officially, adultery is neither legal or illegal; in short, the government has yet to take a stance. So it really depends on the people. For the conservatives of the nation living in the cities and many in the government (especially those who are members of the Church of Tolmakia), adultery is frowned upon and discouraged. For the rest, it does not matter.

Seeing how marriage itself is abolished in Sidh society, adultery is simply non-existent.

Of course, it is still possible to cheat on one's lover, but there is no law against that. Not to mention that cheating on a Sidh can be rather hazardous to one's health sometimes. Infidelity, being a personal affront, is also legal grounds to challenge the offender to single combat.

Aquairia stepped out of the bedroom centuries ago. Now the culture in Aquairia has long since taken a look on sex as being open and as long as all members in a relationship are aware of interactions outside the relationship it is ok.

Technically, adultery is illegal and is a religious crime (Tanshi government having a lot of Christian religious influence). However, observers note that it is rarely enforced by police authorities.

Not, at the bedroom, but often at the courtroom. Angry wives and husbands often file the case at their spouses at suspicion, with 98,756 pending cases of adultery by May 2015 still to be fixed up by the court.

The criminal punishment for adultery is lenient and lax, contrary to the expected stoning, with the adulterer just given a loose punishment of a counsel and sermon of a clergyman, to house arrest (with the spouse in the house, of course), to monetary fines, to 1, 2-4 or 3-6 months of imprisonment.

“In the Egoist Empire of Egotistan, marriage isn't an official government-defined voluntary association of contract. I do not feel the need to legislate personal relationships and the property which may or may not move between the multiple parties involved. Therefore, adultery is not legislated either, so it is neither a crime nor a duty. Encountering adultery especially as the latter in a modern society would be mind-boggling. This results in that all marriages are allowed as well, as they are not limited or enforced by the empire in any way.”

Adultery is illegal & one of the few grounds for divorce. Unrepentant adulterers are forbidden from eating with members or voting, & if they advocate for adultery they're not even allowed in the same room as an assembly meeting in progress, lest they spread their cancerous views.

Adultery is practically nonexistent in Vihenia. Legalization of Polygamy and wives that are so sexually powerful often proven too much for our men to even dream of dreaming of dreaming of dreaming of thinking of considering having secret affair with other women.

Adultery is a serious criminal offence within the Realm and carries serious penalties. The most usual punishment warrants the immediate dissolution of the marriage and the payment of a given amount to the spouse as well as a prison sentence of anywhere from 30 days to 6 months, with the penalties even higher if a child is born to the adulterous pair. Children born to adulterous couples are taken in by the State. Fortunately, a low sex drive combined with a high sense of honour and loyalty among Nocts makes adultery an extremely rare phenomena. These laws were enacted partly as a result of the disgust Nocts have for the very idea of adultery, as it disrupts social harmony without doing anything beneficial for anyone.

Adultery is not expressly illegal (nor expressly legal leaving it in a rather gray area in the Law) in the Roman Republic its being committed (by either party) is however grounds for divorce.

Adultery is illegal but only applies to married couples. Violators may suffer upon pain of heavy fines to imprisonment of no more than two months. Multiple violations results in low-count floggings. Further speaking, divorce remains illegal in the country, but civil divorce is legal.

Civil Divorce is defined as two spouses living separately.

Adultery in our law books is defined as sleeping with someone you are not married to despite already being married.

Fornication is also illegal in the country with high fines. Multiple offenses results in low-count floggings.

Adultery is illegal if a husband cheats on his wife, if only because in our nation, a husband is legally the slave of his wife and is considered to be her property. Punishment can range from a slap on the wrist to castration.

However, if a female wishes to commit adultery, it's perfectly legal.
The Queendom of Bayonetta is a virtual absolute monarchy ruled by Bayonetta where females rule and men are considered inferior and systematically oppressed. Our population is capped at 117 million.

While not illegal, most cases of adultery are seen as provocation of the cheated-on member of the relationship.

In short, it's not illegal, but most likely, if the person who's been cheated on acts out and attacks their significant other or the person they're with, it won't result in a criminal conviction unless it's extreme, since it's considered an act of provocation.

Orderian military law expressly forbids service members and their spouses from engaging in adultery, and social stigma in the nation makes being a "jody" almost as bad as being a Communist.

Additionally, adulterous behavior is used in character judgement.

Marriage in Themiclesia is a financial and familial (of the families of the spouses) union, and does not encompass a sexual commitment to each other. Hence, the concept of adultery is inapplicable. However, children are still divided by legitimacy, with legitimate issue haveing priority in inheritence. Though any children begotten by any one spouse is automatically a member of the family. If a child is thus simultaneously born into two families, the male parent's family has thr prior claim.

It's not illegal by any means, indeed the government hardly has any say in consensual marriage, but socially it is generally frowned upon.

Legal, but frowned upon and grounds for divorce. And if the husband or wife catches the couple in the act and kills them, he or she is likely to get a second degree murder conviction rather then a first degree one that means the death penalty. Juries won't let the killer off but rarely want the killer executed as they can see why he or she acted like they did.
