Adultery, sexual intercourse by a married person outside marriage, is a civil offense (illegal but the state can't bring charges on its own) against one's marriage partners, and the adulterer voids any claim to joint financial resources, , alimony, or custody (unless superseded by proof of abusive behavior) in the event of divorce.

It is worth noting that in Czuławąng culture, marriage is, well... really complicated.

Polygyny is legal in such a way that a man and all his wives are considered one marital unit, and the relationships within this marriage are reflective of this view. If acting with full unanimity, the wives can expel an adulterous man from the marriage while retaining their union, but in all other cases, those wishing to leave must do so one by one, only getting some of the marriage's resources, his remaining wives do, and cannot remarry each other without both marrying another man. For this reason, a polygynous (read: wealthy and likely aristocratic) man's adultery, while still seen as highly shameful, is less likely to end in the man facing divorce and its consequences than the adultery of a woman or of a man with one wife.

Technically illegal, but all residents are allowed to divorce and marry a different person and the state also permits the practice of polygamy so long as all responsible parties are open about their relationships. What makes adultery illegal is that it constitutes as a form of betrayal.

Technically speaking, Adultery is banned under Asanai Law. However, in practice, Asanagi has a culture that allows for polyamorous marriages, so multiple men and women can be involved within a married unit, and their union can be annulled or changed at any point. This causes the formation of large family clans that operate as their own support organizations.

Practically speaking this means that "adulterous" members of a marriage typically leave the married unit and surrender their rights and advantages under the family clan. As such, Adultery is rarely seen or prosecuted under Asanai law.

Buscoduci, die ii. Septembris 1627

Omnibus has visuris salutem in Domino!
(All who read this: salvation in the Lord!)

In the Old Testament, we read in the first chapters of Genesis (e.g. Gen. 2, 24) that God intended mankind to be monogamous. However, Moses allowed the man to send away the woman (Deut. 24, 1) when he had found out she had done adultery. The man had to give her a letter that she could use to prove that she was allowed to marry again. For the family of the woman, the divorce was seen as an insult and a disgrace.

Christ abrogated divorce in the New Testament (Mt. 19, 9; 1 Cor. 7, 10-11). The band of marriage can only be dissolved by death (Rom. 7, 2-3). In cases of adultery, the bishop can give man and woman permission to live separated from each other, but the band of marriage remains. Divorce is forbidden because the primary goal of marriage is the procreation; mutual help and love are secondary goals. The marital act must be performed in a natural way and everything that is contrary to it, is forbidden. Therefore, every form of sex outside of marriage is a great sin. Adultery must be frowned upon by all good Christians worthy of the name.

God is merciful and therefore all adulterers are invited to speak to a priest in the confessional. No sin is too big; it can all be forgiven. Our priests can also mediate between the spouses.

With my episcopal blessing,

we'll pray to Our Lady,
that she will guide us. Amen.

Illegal and punishable by 100 lashes for both parties, regardless of gender or which one is married. This is rarely applied, however, as 4 witnesses are required to prove it. Hindus (who mostly live in the Punjab territory but a relatively small number of whom live in Pashtunistan) follow their own laws where the punishment for a man who sleeps with a married woman is branding.

Adultery is legal here but heavily frowned upon. If the word gets out it can seriously ruin someone's reputation. Unless someone wants to spend the rest of their life in shame, it would be best to avoid.

Adultery is considered a private matter, and is therefore not punished by any law. It is a valid reason to ask for divorce.

Adultery is illegal but under most circumstances carries no prison sentence it, it is however a reason for divorce if proven or admitted and can and shall be used when deciding how the possessions of the involved parties are split. (exemptions to adultery law are rare and generally centre around if the cheating partner was abused which is likely to even significantly grant in their favour within divorce proceedings)

If you haven't at least cheated on your spouse, you ain't a Deltian. However, tradition dictates than if a man's wife sleps with another man, the two shall duel. If the one who was cheated on loses, he has his sword broken over his head and is declared a cuckold, with the "cuck horns" given to him to wear in public. If the one who the woman cheated with loses, they are pelted with rotten fruit and declared a wife-stealer, and for that he must wear a clamp on his stuff for 6 months.

Adulterous women are to be publicly hanged at the neck until dead. Adulterous men are publicly shamed and must pay compensation to the husband of the woman he stole - the exact amount varies depending on the woman's social position

Although adultery is not illegal in our nation, it is cause for a "For-Cause Divorce" (as opposed to a "No-Fault Divorce"). For-cause divorces result in less alimony over a shorter period of time, and a different arrangement for asset-splitting. As For-Cause divorce proceedings are ugly and difficult to prove, usually the threat of going through one is enough to get the unfaithful spouse to agree to a relatively fair divorce. Adultery is looked at extremely unfavorably in our nation. Because marriage is by no means a requirement, and isn't expected of most individuals, marriage is looked at as a voluntary commitment of fidelity. As such, people who commit adultery are usually viewed as morally disturbed, and frequently end up seeking counseling to change their ways.

Adultery is only a justified cause of divorce. Adultery is quite common.
Adultery has been removed from the criminal code in 1977. So adultery is not punishable by the criminal law. Feminine adultery was socially not well considered. Even today those perceptions remain. Although masculine adultery is now not as well socially considered as before.

Adultery is illegal in Turelisa. A first offence is prosecuted as a criminal
misdemeanour of sexual morality, and is punishable by restitution.
A second offence is a second-degree felony, for which sentence is a mandatory term in a labour colony for at least five years or at the most ten years, without parole.
A third offence is a capital crime.

Whilst not illegal, it is a good reason for divorce and disgrace. And the one who cheats is likely not to get a good divorce settlement.
