1.B Introduction

The United Kingdom Of Pestillance, or more commonly known as, Pestillance is recovering well after years of ferocious wars and battles with neighbouring country Krantonica over a healthy oil resource located on the borders of the two countries. Although the oil was discovered back in 1979, only now has work begun to extract the valuable fuel when the war finally ended 10 years ago when Krantonica issued an unconditional surrender and release of any claim to the fuel.

Up until 1999 (a year before the Krantonica war) Pestillance had been ruled Dictators and ruler's. However Pestillance's last Dictator General Yousaf Halcons was a tyrant who had little empathy or passion for the citizens of his land. He wasted vast sums of cash on personal ventures and seldom ever invested in his people. The only thing General Halcons did invest in was his military, but there was problems there too. General Halcon invested most in weapons and war technology and Pestillance can boast of having a well stocked arsenal, however after spending Billions on weapons and technology he could not afford to train his army correctly therefore a lot of the equipment was unable to be used.

In 1999, tired of being oppressed and fearful of loosing the war to Krantonica a rival political party (which General Halcons had outlawed) led by Diablo Derrante had convinced Halcons Army that it was time for change in Pestillance and they lay seige to his palace where General Yousaf Halcons was killed. Inspired by there leader Diablo, A democratic Government was formed in which Diablo Derrante become the first President of The United kingdom of Pestillance

In the Decade that followed President Diablo, as he likes to be known has begun rebuilding his nation. The employment rate is good and the Government continues to invest in Infrastructure. The Government does however still invest a considerable amount in its defence and military.

Climate

The weather in Illuminati (Capital City) during summer is uncomfortably hot, temperatures often exceeding 95°F (35°C) at midday, and Pests tend to close up their businesses during August to take holidays in cooler spots. Mid-winter is mild, the average temperature in December hovering around 55°F (13°C). The best time to travel to Illuminati is in springtime, when skies are blue and the weather warm. Rain showers are possible any time of year.

Military information

The Armed Forces Of Pestillance

The Citidel are Pestillance's special forces Branch. All Citidel troops receive high intensive training in combat, surveillance, Hostage taking, Releasing hostages and much more. They are well equipped with the latest weapon technology.

Marine Pests are a maritime-focused, amphibious, highly specialised light infantry force capable of deploying at short notice in support of Pestillance Government's military and diplomatic objectives overseas and are optimised for operational situations requiring highly manoeuvrable forces. As Pestillance Armed Forces' specialists in cold weather warfare the Corps provide lead element expertise in the central Continent and are optimised for high altitude operations, with jungle training still carried out when deployments allows.

Pest Air Force: The Pest Air force mission is to support the objectives of the Government, which are to "provide the capabilities needed: to ensure the security and defence of the United Kingdom and overseas territories, including against terrorism; to support the Government’s foreign policy objectives particularly in promoting international peace and security. The Government of Pestillance are currently investing highly in the Airforce.

Sea Force: The current role of the Sea Force is to protect Pestillance interests at home and abroad, executing the foreign and defence policies of the Government through the exercise of military effect, diplomatic activities and other activities in support of these objectives.

National Army Pestillance's National Army has overhauled since Diablo came to power. National Conscription was brought into power for all males over the age of 18 and unemployed for longer than 6 months. The National Army is well trained and well known for its bravery and tenacity.
