WU KAIZO DISMISSED, REPLACED BY MIN ZHE
Long-time Chancellor Wu Kaizo dismissed and replaced by younger Min Zhe

XIFENG, XIA - Yes you read the headlines right, Wu Kaizo, the so-called "favourite secretary" of the Qifeng Emperor has been dismissed, without an extraordinary pension as was expected when we ran a report of his progress in the Imperial Cabinet in our last article. Rumours have been circulating in the upper echelons of Xifeng that Wu was dismissed after an argument over Imperial Policy regarding the Xian relationship with the Community of Nations, with the Imperial Minister of State Affairs Xia Pan, the Emperor's younger brother.

Though some suspect that his dismissal was not an act motivated by this single incident, but rather it has been a slow buildup. Rumour has it that there has been a rift between Wu, the Emperor, and the rest of the Cabinet. The Emperor has long been slow to dismiss his ministers, compared to his predecessor's he has been described as a Emperor taking little interest in the day-to-day affairs, preferring to stay ouf of his minister's affairs. He even forgave the Minister of Works, Shi Kong when he made derogatory comments to Empress Consort last year.

With Wu's dismissal the final member of the "Laoxing Guard" has been removed. Wu was the last Imperial Cabinet-member to have been personally groomed and trained by the Laoxing Emperor to assist with the Qifeng Emperor's rule. Wu was the son of the Imperial Bondservant during the Laoxing Emperor's rule, and received personal instruction with the Qifeng Emperor and was sometimes taught by the Laoxing Emperor. He passed the Imperial Examinations at the top of the national levels.

Min Zhe is the son of the Duchess of Suzhou, an accomplished women in her own right who served as Imperial Secretary, Minister of Justice, President of the Board of War, Governor of Suzhou, Minister of Justice and Imperial Minister of State Affairs. She was also responsible for drafting and establishing the Edict of Rights, a fundamental document assuring the rights of every Xian.

Min has been the odds-on-favourite for a Ministerial appointment for the past five years ever since he rose to prominence as Under-Secretary of the Board of War. And now our predictions have come true, in a very large way. He went from Under-Secretary to a senior minister. His appointment was in no doubt influenced by the Empress Consort, who has favoured Min and he is pro-third way (a mix between traditional and reform) attitude. The Emperor has seemed to be aligning himself to this bloc as well, with the removal of several junior ministers and replacing them with young pro-middle way policy makers. With this new super middle way Cabinet we expect great change.

Wu declined to interview with us, and sources have confirmed that he is boarding a flight to an unidentified country in Euclea. This is seen as rather odd, as according to the Huanglu: "shame and disgrace must not be shown, instead one who follows the Way must only be humble and act with a quiet dignity". It seems that this former political player has a complete disregard for the most sacred institution of the Imperial government, perhaps this is why he was removed?

Marriage laws to be changed?

Seestein, Jonathania - (Yizhak Sigurdsen)
It has been in the current decade that the movement to give Homosexuals legal ability to marry grew ever stronger. It is generally accepted that the tipping point for such a reform had been the demonstrations 9 months ago, which arose amongst many youths in Malos, Seestein, and other major cities. Reportedly at that point in time the High Council still showed reluctance towards initiating any movements into reform, as indicated by the lack of proposals for such a reform. This may also have been strengthened by the conservative movement working for counter-protests in the more rural towns, showing a significant though dispersed force. The movement also has received surprising support from some of the Old-Jewish and Muslim Clerics of Jonathania proper, hoping that such a reform in marriage laws would ease polygamist marriages outside of Elradat.

Now, though, signs of a change in legislative course may be on the horizon, as anonymous sources report on the emperor having proposed an Imperial edict to change the status quo. Reportedly aforementioned edict would extend the Elradatian laws of polygamy over all of Jonathania, while likely loosening other restrictions, therefore opening the way for homosexual marriage of both genders to become legally recognized. This step would mark emperor Jonathan as a follower in the path of easing restrictions on personal rights.

A ROYAL AFFAIR
Has HM finally found his man?

ImageSHARE THIS: Image Image Image Image

26 March 2015 | Sparklevale, Gyltter

Image
HM Queen Kevin (left) and Louis MacTomlin (right)

SPARKLEVALE - Last night His Majesty Queen Kevin was spotted leaving a nightclub in downtown Sparklevale on the arm of pop sensation Louis MacTomlin. This is not the first time the pair has been spotted out in public together. Just last week fans caught a glimpse of HM and MacTomlin at one of the city's premier Solarian Restaurants. The Palace has yet to confirm anything, but it is rumored the two have been a couple for at least three months now and that an engagement could be on the way. This would be huge for our country, and would certainly put us at the center of the world stage. Just imagine the luxurious ceremony that would take place at Saint Kolumbia's Cathedral, with foreign heads of state from all over Kylaris accompanied by the pomp and circumstance our monarchy is well known for!

For those who do not know who Louis MacTomlin (who is 25 years of age) is, he is a member of the Glytteronian hit boy band No Direction. The band formed in 2010, the same year as HM ascended to the throne, on the Yes Factor. Other members included Harry Cox, Zain Mattock, Nile Herrin, and Liam Paisley. What started as a national sensation quickly spread across the world, with the band having already completed two world tours and getting ready for the "Who We Are Now" tour, launching this June in Sparklevale at Sovereign's Stadium. The group has repeatedly topped domestic and international charts, receiving dozens of awards for their musical accomplishments, including the prestigious GLIT award in Best Glytteronian Group category and in GLIT's Global Success category in their first year. Their first song alone, "What Makes You Glamorous" won several awards of its own. Their rapid and extensive success and broken all sorts of records, and has also led to various controversies surrounding the character of individual members. A scandal rocked the group only six months ago when Zain Mattock was caught cheating on long time fiancée, and Caltari national, Perrie Edwyns.

Rumors about a potential engagement between HM and MacTomlin have spread like wildfire throughout the No Direction fan base and royal circles. A source close to HM stated "The two are simply enchanted by one another, I would be surprised if they did not marry!" Should the two marry and decide to have any children, they could potentially be barred from succession. HM has repeatedly stated that he wants his sister - Princess Emily of Aerach - to follow him onto the throne. Since the kingdom uses tanistry for its laws of succession, the monarch has unlimited say as to who his or her successor would be. HM has been quite persistent about the Princess of Aerach's rise to the throne, it is unlikely any of his children would pass her in succession. However, HM has never specified who would follow in his footsteps should he produce an issue. Anything is possible and the current outcome totally unknown. There is one thing that is certain, of which is that HM and MacTomlin make one handsome couple!

A Diet for Xia?
An Imperial Decree drafted by the Secretariat details a new policy-making body

XIFENG, XIA - After over one-thousand-three-hundred-years of Imperial Rule the Qifeng Emperor has ordered the drafting of an Imperial Decree that would form a Diet to assist with the rule of His Most Exulted Majesty. According to a statement released by the Imperial Bondservant, Ying Boafu, early this morning, the Emperor has ordered the Imperial Secretary, the Emperor's younger cousin Xia Pan to draft a Imperial Decree establishing an "Imperial Diet" about four days ago. The Imperial Secretary shortly after released a statement confirming the Bondservant's.

The Office of the Imperial Bondservant wrote:
It has come to the attention of the Imperial Household Department that His Most Exulted Majesty, the Qifeng Emperor, has ordered his Imperial Secretary, Xia Pan, Prince of the Fourth Rank, Duke of Rongguo, to draft an Imperial Decree that would establish a democratic parliament, or Diet to aid his majesty in governing the Empire of the Great Xia.

The Office of the Imperial Secretary wrote:
Earlier today, the Office of the Imperial Bondservant of the Imperial Household Department released a statement pertaining to an Imperial Order given by His Most Exulted Majesty, the Qifeng Emperor, in which he has requested us to draft a Decree which will establish a democratic Diet to assist His Most Exulted Majesty. The Office of the Imperial Secretary would like to confirm the words of the Imperial Bondservant, and announce that preliminary drafting has begun, a complete document should be finished by the end of the week.

The Imperial Secretary has announced that he will be forming a Civil Review Panel, to assist in drafting the Imperial Decree. Membership has been restricted to those who have passed the Imperial Examinations with a mark of 80% or higher.

This has come to a shock, no prior indications have been given by His Most Exulted Majesty that he was planning to take such a bold step. I was able to gain an exclusive interview with Mr. Jia Jing, Under-Imperial Secretary, he has informed us that though this Diet is going to be formed to advise the Emperor, he has informed us that membership will only be open to those who have passed the Imperial Examinations with a mark of 75% or more.

That seems in line with the Policy Outlined in the Great Xia Legal Code, which states that only those who have passed the Imperial Examinations with a mark of 75% or more are allowed to serve in the Civil Service, this Diet appears to being formed as an agency of the Imperial Secretariat. According to Mr. Jia, the Diet is theoretically going to be elected every five years, each province will elect 5 delegates to the Diet, with the one receiving the mot votes being elevated a Rank to Senior Dietmen, who act as liaisons between the Diet and the Imperial Government

That would bring the total delegates to 500 Delegates, 400 Junior Dietmen and 100 Senior Dietmen. Mr. Jia also says the Emperor would be eligible to appoint 75 Members of the Aristocracy to act as his mouthpiece in the Diet. The Diet would be responsible for reviewing legislation, before it is sent for Imperial Decree, however they would have no ability to block it, instead they could request changes and point out flaws. They would also take on some judicial power, should the Emperor request it the Diet may act as a grand jury in high-profile cases.

Does this spell change for the Great Xia? We really do not know, but it is certainly a step in the right direction.

SAHALIYAN, JURCHI -

The State Council has officially announced approval for the controversial increase in funding for the National Space Commissariat, approving funding for experimental tests to find a suitable new booster rocket for the space agency when its current heavy lift Chulaanbold-4 is phased out in 2030. This comes at a time when some would have favored giving the significant sum approved for the NSC to the military, to help bolster the nation's experimental weapons and missile defense programs. However, despite added momentum to the pro-military-funding side of the Council and the Supreme Directorate as a whole thanks to their approval and execution of the recent Gherlekad military exercises, which sparked international controversy when they were first proposed due to the use of several missiles considered to be dangerous by certain imperialist powers, the funding was secured for the NSC. NSC Chief Commissar Enebish spoke only briefly on the approval, stating he was pleased with the decision and understood it meant many hard choices for the State Council, but that the new technologies they were developing would prove "invaluable" to the nation's space program and possibly the military.

While Enebish was speaking, however, the international furor over the Gherlekad exercises has continued, with several nearby states lodging formal complaints with the Şetek Amban over the deployment of the military's newest Ulaan'ild ballistic missiles in the exercises. These missiles were developed in conjunction with an NSC development program that also created the current Chulaanbold-4. Foreign Minister Adarkin dismissed them, stating they were "irrelevant overreactions to a perfectly normal operation to help hone the military's skills and test its capabilities", having nothing to do with the Suremban counterinsurgency campaign, and flatly stating the government would not apologize. This show of resolve against foreign meddling was widely applauded across the country, but is expected to only cause more anger in those meddling foreign powers who have already lodged complaints over the exercises.

Maybe if they hadn't poured so much money from the Chulaanbold program into the Ulaan'ild no one would have to be diverting extra money to the NSC. I mean, just a thought.

Honestly this whole thing about the exercises somehow having to do with the counterinsurgency is just silly. No one's going to be using experimental ballistic missiles against a few annoyed stoners with guns.

I think the problem here is that the Chulaanbold program was so underfunded, given that they were developing a whole family of rockets. And I'm not really sure why anyone would use Gherlekad as an excuse to try and underfund a space agency that does such amazing work.

WHITE CROSS PRESIDENT UNDER FIRE
Bombshell video shows Janssens in alleged hired sex parties

ImageSHARE THIS: Image Image Image Image
James Kelley (@jkelleygbf)
Day March 2015 | Gayneva, Gyltter

Image
Mr. Janssens leaving the offices of the Flamian White Cross

GAYNEVA - News broke today that long time International White Cross president Dominik Janssens allegedly patricipated in a giant sex party in Al-Anidem, the capital city of Tylos. A video, of which was sent to the GBF by an anonymous source, appears to show the IWC boss engaged in sexual activity at a party where all of the women were hired prostitutes. Prostitution is against the law in Tylos, which calls Mr. Janssens moral and legal ethics into question. He is currently sixty five years old and began his tenure as president of the International White Cross, one of the subdivisions of the International White Cross and White Crescent. It is assumed he was visiting the headquarters of the International White Crescent, based in Al-Anidem, at the time of the video on official business for the organization.

This is the first scandal to hit the International White Cross in decades. While prostitution is legal in members of the International White Cross, it is strictly illegal in Tylos - which means Mr. Janssens had knowingly broken the laws of Tylos. It is currently unknown of the government of Tylos plans to seek the extradition of Mr. Janssens in order for him to face prosecution. However, Gyltter maintains an extradition treaty with Tylos so it is very likely should his extradition be requested it will be carried out. Tylos is a crucial partner of the International White Cross, having founding the International White Crescent in order to better accommodate Islamic nations. It is truly a devastating blow to Mr. Janssens character and credibility as leader of an international organization. While there has been no official word from the IWC, many here speculate he will be forced to resign. However, should he choose not to the IWC itself would suffer a tremendous blow and relations with its sister organization could shatter as a result.

To all who it may concern;

Regarding the actions of Mr. Dominik Janssens, International White Cross president in the alleged prostitute sex party in Tylos, the White Dragon and Moon Society formally condemns the actions of Mr. Janssens, who we believe has knowingly violated not only the law of Tylos but the moral standard to which we as the sister organizations, The Internal White Cross and White Crescent, and the White Dragon and Moon Society hold to our employees.

The White Dragon and Moon Society formally condemns Mr. Janssens and has requested his resignation as President of the International White Cross. The White Dragon and Moon Society has also issued a formal Order to Ostracize, which bars Mr. Janssens from participating in any events organized or hosted by the White Dragon and Moon Society.

May you all be blessed,

Jia Yucun

POLLS SHIFT AGAINST RULING COALITION
Government Parties Facing Falling Popularity

ImageSHARE THIS: Image Image Image Image

A rally of the Negaran General Democratic Party (PDU)

KOTA MERDEKA - Unfortunate news for President Mawarputra today, as he suffers a further fall in the polls as a result of the Yinti affair, which has damaged his administration's reputation for fairness and a heavy stance against crime and foreign aggression as allegations have emerged that the President pressured the judiciary to secure a quick release for Mr. Yinti. Prince Yinti, who faced charges of sedition and disturbing the peace, was quickly absolved of all guilt after surveillance footage of the incident was collected, but more damaging to the administration was the leakage of key correspondence between the office of the President and that of the Xian Emperor, which has damaged his party's appeal among the president's ideological conservative base, and has led to a rising suspicion that he may lose his post in presidential elections due this October. While other members of the ruling coalition have refrained from attacking the President or his record, the right-wing Conscientious Party, whose leader, Yudyi Cinta, accused Mawarputra of "cowardice and deferral," and in comments that may not be quoted further suggested that the President has a penchant for "brown-nosing" foreign politicians.

The allegations by Cinta come at a particularly difficult time for the President, whose pro-trade stance and policy of "diplomatic engagement" with historical adversaries such as Xia and Jurchi have drawn increasing ire from his own party's right wing. It also comes as the latest in a series of attacks against associates of the parliamentary coalition from both the left and right, with the General Democratic Party accusing the ruling coalition of "economic brinkmanship" as a result of their promotion of free trade and slashing of agriculture subsidies while the Conscientious Party accuses the government of "trampling traditional values" by allowing territorial governments to decriminalise marijuana and putting pressure on the Northern Frontier to abolish entirely gender segregation laws. Critics have not been limited to the opposition: in coalition, the Awakening Party has repeatedly attacked NUP attempts to pass legislation limiting the powers of West Hesia's autonomous government, which has made the government seem increasingly weak and fractured.

An exception to the trend of government-bashing is the Union and Development Party, which largely completed its election promises during this government by the creation of Special Territories for most major urban areas and increasing subsidies for university-level education, but the party threatens to slip into obscurity as it loses the spotlight and fails to attack its rivals on major issues. As mutual attacks continue throughout the run-up to the election, the UDP may also be betting on gaining traction as a "second place" in the preferential voting system, and thus winning the Presidency on second or third-tier support. It is to be hoped that any party would do more than just quietly slip into power.

Highminster, Shadwell - Breaking news from the City of Highminster in Shadwell, where we have received several scattered reports that previously peaceful anti-austerity protests in the city had turned violent, as protesters reportedly openly attacked police officers that were assigned to guard the protesters. We have received reports that two officers are in a critical condition, with a further fifteen heavily injured. Among the protests-turned-riots, a monument dedicated to the fallen in the Great War was defaced, and several protesters were reported to have uttered slurs at the police officers as the protests became more violent. As this story develops, we will continue to deliver updates.

UPDATE 1 - Fifty protesters have been arrested in Deels, as the police force crack down on the illegal rioters.

UPDATE 2 - Ed Sharps, the 62 year old leader of the Communist Party, has been taken into police custody after having alleged connections to the rioters.

UPDATE 3 - Police officer Duncan Moresman has reportedly died of his wounds after being assaulted by protesters in Rhyl.

UPDATE 4 - The Shadwell Metropolitan Police Force has issued warnings, stating that "citizens should remain inside in order to allow the Force to do it's duty by arresting the illegal rioters within the city".

UPDATE 5 - Another officer - Ian Glaves - has reportedly died of his wounds after being assaulted by protesters in Shadwell.

Do not believe the reports of the state-controlled media. Riots broke out across the High Kingdom due to the police kettling protesters, arresting without charge and firing randomly into the crowds with tear gas and plastic bullets. While the state-controlled media may beg to differ, this is the cold hard truth. Police forces turned these protests violent and then the government censored the press to make them conform to the idea that the protesters were in the wrong. That, however, is simply not true. These protesters were merely excising their democratic right to protest, to show discontent with the current regime. I wonder how long it will be before the masses learn of the many protester deaths? Of how two were killed at short range by a brute officer armed with a baton, and how a further two died after being restrained far too aggressively by officers of the force. An uncountable number of people were knocked out - and possibly killed - by tear gas. This is the start of a revolution, and the government has only itself to blame.

Homosexual Marriage now illegal in Sveltlana
At this moment, all non-heterosexual marriages have been rendered null and void by the government

Herfast, Gottmark - as of this moment, 12:00, all marriages or civil unions that do not consist of heterosexual partners in Sveltlana are no longer valid before the Sveltlanan government. This momentous event has occurred after the tallying of the votes of nearly 49 million Svelts was concluded just last night. All citizens over the age of 16 were eligible to vote in this referendum, for a total of nearly 70 million individuals, for an astounding turnout of about 68%.

The referendum consisted of two questions: "Should two people be able to contract marriage regardless of gender?" and "Should Norse be established as the National religion?"

The right for homosexual and other forms of marriage and civil unions, protected since 1989 by the passage of the "Equal Marriage Act," have now been rescinded. The Chamber and the Senate met together at the Riksdag House and announced that the Equal Marriage Act was no longer a part of the constitution. It also passed the clause proposed by AIP, "Act of Marriage," designed to "prohibit all kinds of matrimonial unions that are not comprised of a male and a female."

The results for the polls, particularly for the first question, show record levels in Euclea. Of those who responded, 75.9% thought that homosexual marriage should not be allowed by the state, a number that is almost thirty full points above the number of Svelts who believed that homosexual marriage should not be tolerated by the state in 2001. The reasons for this enormous spike against gay marriage are now being hotly debated across scholarly communities in the world. Meanwhile, those voting in favour of such unions reached a new all-time low, at 21.7%.

"I am disappointed," said local homosexual Artur Martinssen of the referendum. "I believed Sveltlana to be at the forefront in terms of rights and liberties. Now I have been proven to be wrong. Me and my partner are now being forced to break by the government. What right has the government or have other citizens to control me? These homophobics must respect our lifestyle, as we respect theirs."

The two strongest parties of Sveltlana, Citizens and AIP, have both issued statements regarding the ban on homosexual marriages in Sveltlana.

"This is a triumph for Sveltlana," declared AIP spokesman Markus Berbatoff. "Now that the citizenry has agreed that homosexual marriage will not muddle the ethical values of our noble country, we can be sure that morality will once more be restored to our nation. We have suffered far too many years of Libertinism, and far too many years of allowing unnatural unions such as these to take place. This is a new beginning for our nation," he exclaimed.

However, AIP's rivals, the party Citizens (Medörgarer), has expressed shock and despair in the face of the referendum.

"Consciously or unconsciously, those who have voted against the right of LGBTQ individuals to enter into civil unions have deprived some of our citizens of their rightful liberties," stated Martin Strömundsvån, spokesman of Citizens. "Just as heterosexual citizens are allowed to marry, so should individuals who do not share similar orientations. Why are we depriving our citizens of liberties rather than granting them liberties anew? Why is the state imposing these faulty 'morals' on our country?"

Citizens, a moderate party, has in the last decade lost a massive fraction of its former power to AIP. The Industrial Party, formerly in the pockets of Citizens in its coalition government, has declared multiple times that, unless Citizens adjusts its new left-wing platform, it will defect to the side of AIP, which would bring another 59 seats in the Chamber of Deputies and 11 in the Senate to AIP, which already controls the largest amount of seats in the Chamber and the second-largest in the Senate.

Parties have shown concern regarding the rise of the ultra-right wing AIP. The future is uncertain, but it is likely that AIP will take the November 2015 elections like a storm, whipping aside the meagre forces of Citizens and seizing the Cabinet.

PRINCE YINQU DEMOTED, PRINCE YINTI ON THE RISE
In the wake of his defiance of the Negaran Authorities Prince Yinti has been promoted!

FAOGUNG, XIA - In a surprising turn of events, despite being arrested by the Negaran Police for sedition, being bailed out of jail by Po Ping'er, His Most Exulted Majesties Under-Secretary and being forced to wear black robes with a silver waistband (traditionally a symbol of disgrace) Prince Yinti has pulled through unscathed, more popular than ever, and an international sensation! He has even been bumped up to Prince of the Second Rank, replacing Prince Yinqu - who was demoted at the Day of Chéngrèn.

After returning to Xia Prince Yinti as greeted by his father, His Most Exulted Majesty the Qifeng Emperor - at the runway he wore a black robe with a silver waistband - he prostrated himself before His Most Exulted Majesty and was ordered to perform the 1000 Bows of Disgrace before being able to converse with the Emperor.

It is rumoured the Prince Yinqu was demoted after - CENSORED BY ORDER OF THE IMPERIAL CENSORATE. Prince Yinqu was a Prince f the Second Rank and rumoured candidate for succession, it seems however that he has fallen from grace, being bumped down to Prince of the Eighth Rank and being stripped of his wealth, residency in the Inner Courtyard and his test results at the Imperial Examination were declared null. Now that Prince Yinti is more popular than ever it seems he is a likely candidate to succeed! However Prince Yintang and Prince Yinsu both of the First Rank are still in contention, though not even their positions are stable as it seems the Emperor is slowly shaking up the Order of things.

GLYTTER OFFICIALS CONDEMN INEQUALITY IN SVELTANA
From His Majesty to the Mayor of Sparklevale, Glytter speaks out.

LGBT Supporters gather outside the Sveltlanan Embassy in Sparklevale

SPARKEVALE - Following the results of the referendum in Sveltana outlawing all same-sex marriages within the nation, Glytteronian officials have condemned the actions undertaken by the Sveltlanan government and the Sveltlanan voters. The most scathing condemnation came from the Mayor of Sparklevale, Robert Kean, who said "It is a shame that in this century our nation, a nation of love, peace, and tolerance, has to share such a close border with the backwards fools in Sveltana. Today the Svelts have voted against everything our beloved Kingdom has stood for since her start, and our voices will not be silenced. My husband, myself, and all of those in Sparklevale and this beautiful nation send our love and support to the same-sex couples who have been wronged by the government that is supposed to protect them. "

A statement from St. Ellen's Palace, written by His Majesty, reads "What has happened in Sveltana is an example of tyranny by majority - not democracy. It is an utter disgrace that a nation who was founded upon freedom and democracy has chosen to follow the path of bigotry and hatred. One can only hope the Svelts will see the error in their ways, and one day reverse this bigoted referendum. Love is love, and love shall prevail."

Other Glytteronian officials who have offered commentary have been Taioseach Walker and Chief Justice Flaherty. The former said "Perhaps Glytter needs to review the way we do business with Sveltana", while the later said "Democracy is not democratic when used to oppress others." A spokesperson from LGBT International at their headquarters in Gayneva said "We are deeply concerned and saddened with the violation of basic human rights within Sveltana. This organization remains committed to LGBT+ rights and will continue to work to bring justice and equality to every nation who denies it."

The Taioseach's office has furthered hinted that there is a possibility of same-sex couples whose marriages have now been made null and void being offered the status of political sanctuary, and further went on to say that "same-sex couples from Sveltana are more than welcome to have their marriages recognized by the Glytteronian government should they seek it". This would have an even heavier impact on relations between Sveltana and Glytter. The fragile relationship could soon collapse, as the Walker Administration may choose to recall the Glytteronian ambassador from Herfast and close all other consulates within Sveltana along with expelling the Sveltanan ambassador to Glytter and forcing the closure of the Sveltanan embassy.

Only time will tell how the Taioseach chooses to handle the situation, but with Queen Kevin's very public relationship with Louis MacTomlin it is expected Walker will lead the charge against Sveltana on an intentional stage.

We here at the Glytteronian Broadcasting Federation send our thoughts and prayers to all of those within Sveltana who have been hurt by this law. There is hope for change, and it will get better.

Gyllenhaal: "Our Internal Affairs are our Own"
President of Sveltlana criticises Glytteronian response to Svelt LGBT+ Referendum

Herfast, Gottmark — Following the heated response of several Glytteronian officials to the results of the 2015 Marriage Referendum, several important officials in Sveltlana have criticised Glytter as acting undiplomatically and brashly in the face of affairs "not pertinent to Glytter," as voiced by the Secretary of State. Particularly targeted were the declarations of Mr. Robert Kean, Mayor of Sparkleville, and the Queen of Glytter, Kevin.

"Glytter has breached etiquette in international relationships," remarked the president. "As cultures vary, so, too, vary the policies of individual nations. This is what the people of Glytter fail to understand. The culture of our nation does not embrace relationships between those other than the male and the female, as exemplified by the clear and evident results of the referendum. This is an undeniable fact. The people of Sveltlana do not want the government to continue endorsing this policy, and as such, we have redacted the mistake of 1989 in accordance with the results of the referendum. What is there to criticise about this?"

The President also commented on the intrinsic differences between Sveltlanan and Glytteronian cultures, citing historical precedence.

"From a historical standpoint," added the President, "Glytter is much more open to this sort of affairs than Sveltlana. The Svelt culture is not as receptive to these sorts of affairs. It is only just that we, the government of that people, work for the people that we govern. The people of Glytter have no base from which to criticise our culture from either a historical, a cultural, or a sociopolitical standpoint, as our nations are intrinsically different," he continued. "Our internal affairs are our own. Sveltlana is a democratic country, where the wishes of the people are carried out to their fullest extent by the Riksdag and the Cabinet."

The Foreign Minister, Alvin Perr Jessen, criticised the opinions of Glytteronian officials as being undiplomatic. "The arrogantly-worded threats and insults delivered to our nation by Glytteronian officials threaten to break the relationship between our two countries, hitherto in amicable terms," he said. "This is but the result out of a referendum, approved by the vast majority of Svelts, in full accordance with the traditionally democratic and constitutional principles of this country," he added.

Eva Reinfeldt, the famous Chancellor of Sveltlana, did not join the President for the Press Conference, nor did she attend other press events for the day. Nevertheless, Chancellor Reinfeldt has been quoted unofficially as saying "Tyranny by the majority is better than tyranny by the minority." She has made no comment regarding these claims.

Meanwhile, numerous Svelt personalities were targeting the brash comments of the Mayor of Sparkleville, Mr. Robert Kean. "Mr. Kean has shown that he is tactless for any sort of politics whatsoever," said Member of the Deputeradekammaren Margret Klingröd via her Twitter page, "and it reflects upon Glytter's state of affairs that such a man is the Mayor of Glytter's capital." In Facebook, Arthur Kleist, a known film director, wrote: "Mr. Kean has shown to be the real 'backwards fool' in this game: by jumping into a naïve declaration ass-first." The Norse Ting, convened in a special session, also joined in the fray. "The comments of Mr. Kean threaten the peace of both Glytter and Sveltlana. It is in both countries' best interest that he took back these comments and accepted responsibility for his brash action."

In the internet, famous blogger and internet personality Lars Rudenbörn mocked the declaration as being "the product of a blind faith in a principle that one could believe in by the simple use of fact." In the Social Media, thousands of Svelts began liking the page "≠", a page based in Facebook, Twitter, and other platforms that currently uses a crossed-out version of Mr. Kean's face as its logo. Its mission statement claims that the "unequal existence of man means that any attempt to make him equal is by definition unfeasible," and arguing that "the ends that satisfy the most are those to be followed by the state."

Additionally, the allegation that the Glytteronian government may attempt to provide marriage to couples in Sveltlana has been a subject of concern for numerous Sveltlanan politicians.

"This [declaration] is a tactless and inadequate measure," stated President Gyllenhaal in the same press conference. "Under the Sveltlanan citizenship, these unions are no longer being recognised by the government of Sveltlana, and simply trying to have them recognised by another state would not mean that an individual desiring to obtain such a marriage along with a Sveltlanan citizenship would actually do so."

The president also added scathing remarks citing the irreversibility of abandoning Sveltlanan citizenship, as per the country's constitution.

"It would mean that the individual would have to forsake his Sveltlanan citizenship," he added, "in order to obtain a Glytteronian citizenship, and only subsequently the marriage. But forsaking citizenship in our state is not something that can be corrected with the brush of a finger; forsaking Sveltlanan citizenship, as defined by Section 4 of Article 2 in the constitution, is a permanent and irrevocable measure," he concluded.

The president also commented regarding the speculation that Glytter might break diplomatic contact with Sveltlana.

"The speculation that Glytter may choose to close the Sveltlanan embassy in Sparkleville or remove its ambassadors from Herfast, propagated by unsubstantiated tabloids such as GBC, is thoroughly baseless. Glytter has never recurred to such measures with Sveltlana in the past, even over other controversial or dangerous issues such as the Sveltlanan Civil War or the Sveltlanan Intervention in Namkwon. To suggest that an internationally-recognised nation-state such as Glytter would cease diplomatic ties with its closest neighbour over an internal referendum is not only ridiculous; it is folly."

Once again, Chancellor Reinfeldt has abstained from commenting on this clause as well. It is thought that she had pressing matters to discuss with the Cabinet, as she spent the entirety of her day at the Chancellory of the Republic, only briefly taking the Chancellor's Automobile to the Republic Building to meet with a foreign deputy of Negara-West Hesia.

One only has to think: how far will this go? Although President Gyllenhaal seems to believe quite firmly that this international disagreement will not escalate to further measures, some Svelts are worried that Glytter might raise tempers across the world and thus cause a diplomatic crisis.

GOVERNMENT JOINS SVELTLANAN DEBATE
President Expresses "Puzzlement" Over Glytteronian Position

KOTA MERDEKA - The Negaran government has decided to weigh in on an ongoing international debate between Glytter and Sveltlana, with the President calling for a "calm and collected" approach to the matter of the Sveltlanan referendum on homosexual marriage, which has drawn the attention and ire of a number of Euclean states. In a press conference late last Thursday, he expressed "concern" over the "harsh words" used by both sides of the debate, and hope that the two countries could come to a "constructive resolution."

The President was also heard to remark on Negara's own stance on homosexual relationships, as well as on recent political developments in Sveltlana: "The government of Negara, as it always has, continues to define marriage as a legal bond between a man and a woman, not as a matter of discrimination, but as a matter of definition. This is something that Glytter has respected in the past and continues to respect today, just as we do the same for their alternative conception of the institution. I must admit my puzzlement that they have decided to react thusly to the recent events in Sveltlana."

"Sveltlana is one of our most steadfast and helpful allies. It cannot be said, however, that Glytteronian individuals have not raised pertinent points. Sveltlana has seen a worrying rise in extremist reactionary sentiment, of the sort that has poisoned relations with our own citizens abroad and that threatens democracy at home. Both countries would do well, in this era of tensions, to continue to maintain a co-operative relationship without poisonous rhetoric, and it is the hope of this Government that these words will not come to blows, whether it be economically or politically."

In a statement published later that evening, the President announced that he had invited the Glytteronian ambassador to the Presidential Residence to clarify his countries' stance on Negaran internal affairs. The President's address has met with widespread support among both the Opposition and the legislative Coalition, although the leader of the Awakening Party denounced it as "pandering to Euclean bleeding-hearts on both sides" and declared that he "stands with Sveltlana" and the leader of the Green party has tweeted statements in support of the Glytteronian position.

Many votes expressed cynicism, however, with it being widely believed that the President is only entering the debate in a bid to make his free trade proposals more amenable to the Euclean public. In any case, the Sveltlanan debate is unlikely to trigger much in Negara, which remains largely apathetic to the cause of homosexual marriage.

EMPEROR ANNOUNCES SWEEPING CHANGES TO THE HUANGLU

XIFENG, XIA - Quoted from the Imperial Mouthpiece of the Dragon Throne:

It is the opinion of myself, as embodiment and mouthpiece of the Dragon Throne, as wielder of the holy spiritual and temporal authority of the Gods and Tian afforded to myself as Son of Heaven that those who are attracted to the opposite gender should not be attacked for their personal choices - a good and ordered society has rules, a good an ordered society must respect one another, we must have honour and respect that of others - the gods have laid out a sacred mandate for the Qizong and Manchu peoples which states we are the perfect ordered society, and we must continue on the sacred way that has brought us this far! We must not stray from our divine path! We must nor stray from the guiding light of order, integrity, duty, respect, and honour! Though those who have attraction to the opposite gender have violated some of our customs, such as the sacred institution of the family - I will be lashed one thousand times to the back if we are to chip away at the foundations of our state, that is our fundamental respect for every human on this planet.

As of now I have added this section to the Huanglu:

In the spirit of respect for all man - the fundamental principle which we have crafted our nation upon let it be known that all peoples identifying as Homosexual, Bisexual or Pansexual are hereby afforded Imperial Protection under the Huanglu - however knowing the traditions of our Empire opinions against said groups are permitted, though it is the respectful and good subjects who keep their opinions quite and respectful;

May those who violate the sacred commandments of the Huanglu burn for ten-thousand years;

As the debate grows abroad about the position of homosexuals, His Most Exulted Majesty the Qifeng Emperor announced this morning that all Homosexuals, Bisexuals, and Pansexuals have been granted Imperial Protection, meaning those who attack them are open to prosecution under "Defiance of Imperial Protection" - a very serious crime akin to treason.

The move was quick and unanticipated, usually the Emperor does not weigh in on foreign debates. The Emperor does not personally support homosexuality, and wishes for the continuance of the taboos surrounding it however in a statement issued by Homosexual politician Huang Fe-jung he said.

"The Emperor said to me once. "Mr. Huang I do not support your people or what you stand for - but I will burn for ten-thousand years if I allow people to disrespect your for that."

Seestein, Jonathania - (Yizhak Sigurdsen)

On the third of June Sveltlana, by illegalizing Homosexual marriages launched a chain of diplomatic statements and counter-statements, in what some consider to be one of the more interesting diplomatic conflict in the last few years. As our own journalists overseas reported, after a referendum which passed by a majority of nearly 80% Sveltlana declared existing homosexual marriages to be null and void. This event led to a wide popular and governmental uproar within the local and national offices of state of Glytter, and to large demonstrations outside of the Sveltlanan Embassy in Sparklevale.
Since then responses also have come from the rival states of Xia and Negara-West Hesia, in addition to the exchange of public statements between the Republic of the Svelts and the Kingdom of Glytter. In and of itself not something that a well-informed observer would consider a surprising chain of events.

It is the most recent move by the emperor, though, that would be considered somewhat unexpected, at least at this timing. Earlier this year we reported of a source that preferred to remain anonymous reported of considerations by the emperor to pass an edict removing governmental influence on marriage in all but the record itself, legalizing both polygamy of all genders and homosexual marriage on a nation-wide level. After an amount of time passed and in light of the conservativeness of the Great council led many both homosexual and not to declare their disbelief in the truthfulness of that statement.

The report of this source was then confirmed when earlier today a statement was issued from the desk of the emperor:
From the Desk of his most Imperial majesty - on this very date of the Ninth of June Two-thousand and fifteen to the common ear
On the Imperial Edict on Free Marriage

After lengthy consultation and discussion with our personal advisers, the Great, and Privy councils, we have come to the conclusion to pass the Edict on Free marriage. Following implementation of the Edict, which shall occur on this day at exactly 14:00 (JMT), previous restrictions on marriage shall be lifted, the only requirement being the formal registration of the marriage at a local government office. This shall therefore from this day henceforth allow marriages to be both with members of any genders as well as removing the restriction of marriage being solely between two partners, allowing any person to be married to multiple persons either or both of their own and the opposite gender.

In the name of His Most Serenely Imperial Majesty, Emperor of Jonathania and its States, High and Great King of all High and Great Kings, Great King in and of the Fjälland, High King of Jonathania, King of the Malosian Delta and of Elradat, Archduke of the Imperially held Lands, Duke of Malos, Count and Baron of Seestein, Defender of all the Faiths, Ruler of the Realm, Liberator of the Desert, First, Foremost, and Most Honorable Citizen of the Empire and Seestein, Giver of Justice, Lord (and) Protector of the State, Caesar Aeternus, Imperator Augustus in Nova Solaria, Blood of David, Patron of the Gens Seestein, Great Eagle of the Ancients and Lion of the East
Jonathan von Seestein

In an additional statement released through the Official Spokesperson of the Crown his majesty declared that "[The Jonathanian States], though a Monarchy in which the Emperor retains significant control of the government, and while possibly slow in taking steps forward, as might be seen in the Edict of today, does step forward. In continuously stepping forward, whatever the pace may be, [the government of Jonathania] at least do not attempt to march backwards and into the past of intolerance, as other countries seem to do in this very day and age".
The edict and statement mark a step many did not expect the young emperor to be able to do, most likely disregarding the mostly conservative Great Council and pushing through reforms of his own. In doing so he enters the foot-steps of his father and grand-father, both of whom advanced reforms progressive for their own day and age. Even more radical is the statement which one may assume to be the Jonathanian Crown's own intervention and answer to the ongoing war of diplomacy, taking an unexpectedly harsh stance against Sveltlana.

The Malos Chronicles will attempt to remain up to date on the expected continuation of these events - 18:32

President Vallette: "The rights of a group of people supercede the wishes of a bigoted law."

Verlois, Ile de Fleur - Following the heated debate between the Kingdom of Glytter and the Republic of Sveltlana over the former's law banning homosexual marriage, President Jean Vallette of the Gaullican Republic decided to step in to voice his own thoughts of the matter. He sought to clarify the situation, to voice in his own thoughts on the ideals of intervention and people voting for the reduction of the rights of another group of people. It is also known that Vallette decided to finally give his opinion from increasing tensions from the LGBT community within Gaullica, a community that has experienced the same rights as everyone else for the past decade.

Assembled in front of a crowd today, as waving flags of the LGBT community waved in the Republican Plaza beneath the Palais Gaullica, home to both the Upper and Lower Houses of the National Assembly, Vallette gave a strong, motivating and heart-warming speech to the members of the community and Gaullians in general.

"To deprive a group of people of the basic rights of marriage? Unspeakable, in truth. We cannot demand the Sveltlana government repeal this law, but we can voice our discontent about it as free as we like!" His speech continued for the course of the morning, regarding how he wished for the Sveltlana government to see the error of their ways. "This is a clear example of tyranny by majority." Vallette concluded. "The rights of a group of people supercede the wishes of a bigoted law and an intolerant people. We stand with the Kingdom of Glytter and the Empire of Jonathania in their positions regarding this dreadful event of Civil Liberties."

Jean Vallette, the loved President of Gaullica, is known to have a lesbian granddaughter - her opinions on the matter and that of the family in general have been kept privatised since the whole incident occurred. Additionally, on the topic regarding a Government and its people Jean declared to the crowd before departing his opinions on another global news story.

"We believe that people have a right to protest the ideals of a government, and so, we stand with the rights of the rioters of the High Kingdom to express their discontent and are slightly disappointed in the arrests of the Communist Party leader due to alleged connections to a demonstration that began as peaceful - and only degraded to violence due to excessive police intervention."

However, it would appear not all follow the same sentiment that Vallette expresses on homosexuality. Members from his own party have been found to declare that they believe homosexuality is "immoral" and "unnatural." Opposition leader, Laurent Cahuzac was found giving a speech by the Sveltlana embassy. Following the political freedoms expressed in Gaullica, his speech was uninterrupted and listened to by many - with a good group of the general populace agreeing with him.

"I for one stand with Sveltlana!" he declared, the flags of the two nations crossed in the backround. "They have a right to self-governship and if the people wish for this law to be revoked, by all concepts of Democracy they have won the majority and the law has been repealed. We, as a community who value the understandings of democracy and the peoples vote, should recognise this."

When he was asked about his position on the fact Gaullica allows same-sex marriage, he provided no comment to the idea but dropped subtle hints he intended to follow the same path of Sveltlana in making it illegal if he were to win the next general election.

GLYTT-SVELT DISPUTE: OUR ROUND TABLE
Our analysts discuss the recent international dispute

ImageSHARE THIS: Image Image Image Image
James Kelley (@jkelleygbf)
8 June 2015 | Sparkelvale, Gyltter

Image
Taoiseach Walker sits down with GBF News to discuss the recent dispute.

SPARKEVALE - After several Glytteronian officials issued harsh condemnations for the Sveltnanan government following their referendum on outlawing same-sex marriage, the international community also joined the debate. Coming out in support of the Glytteronian response were nations such as Gaullica and the Jonathanian Empire, with even more taking steps to improve the situation for LGBT+ citizens. Following the response from the President of Sveltana, Bastian Gyllenhaal, we invited our own Taoiseach Walker to sit down with us for an interview regarding the dispute, and she did.

Taoiseach Walker brushed off the Sveltanan response saying "Gyllenhaal can act as if a referendum that results in the oppression of a minority is solely the affair of his own state, but the fact of the matter is we live in an internationalized world. Sveltanan is a member of both the Community of Nations and the Euclea Community just as Glytter is, and they are also a member of DITO. Glytter has acted as a voice for peace, tolerance, and human rights for centuries and we have been extremely active within the Community of Nations to ensure that our advocacy is heard - even before we officially joined the CN in 1971. It should be no surprise that we would stand to offer our commentary on any issue affecting the rights of others. We have a long track record of standing up for what is right, even dating back to the dispute between St Ellen and the Solarian Catholic Church. We became the first nation in the world to officially legalize same-sex marriages over four centuries ago. When the world condemned us as sodomites then, Glytter ignored them and worked to bring equality to her own children. Now, when the Svelts condemn us for 'breaching etiquette in international relationships', Glytter shall continue her work to bring equality to the rest of the world. His Majesty pegged it best. Democracy is not democratic when it is used as tyranny by majority, and if tyranny by minority is allowing historically oppressed groups of people equal rights under the law - then I question the authenticity of President Gyllenhaal's along with Chancellor Reinfeldt's commitment to democracy. Their nation was born out of a revolution that worked to end tyranny, and it is a shame that they have chosen to revive the very practice their forefathers fought to end."

The Taoiseach's office also released plans to allow all married same-sex couples in Sveltana's whose marriages will soon be made void political sanctuary as married couples within Glytter. Glytter is not alone in this practice, however. As GBF international analyst Morgan MacDongel reports "The international community is not pleased with the referendum in Sveltana. In fact, Aldexlane's response was even more scathing than Glytter's and their decision to provide political sanctuary to same-sex couples proves the Aldexani government's commitment to equality." A statement issues by Aldexane's President reads "Aldelxane condemns Sveltlana's backwards, intolerant position on the rights of the LGBT community, and as such would be prepared to grant asylum to Sveltlanese citizens whose lives have been turned upside-down by the referendum in their homeland. While it is not our place to intervene in Sveltlana's governance, we recommend that Sveltana hold a second referendum monitored by international observers, to ensure the validity of the referendum in gauging the views of the Sveltlanese people." MacDongel soon pointed out President Jean Vallette of Gaullica's response "hit home to what Glytteronians were feeling about the referendum", citing Vallette's recent interview in which he stated "We cannot demand the Sveltlana government repeal this law, but we can voice our discontent about it as free as we like!'" Emperor Jonathan von Seestein has legalized same-sex marriages within his Empire, while greatly condemning the "backwards march" of the Sveltanan referendum. Xia - a nation where homosexuality still remains very taboo - has increased protection for the LGBT+ minority within their own state. Glytter was met with some resistance, mainly in Negara-West Hesia as the Glytteronian ambassador to the nation had to reassure the Negaran government that Glytter was not condemning practices within Negara, but was instead grateful for recent improvements within the nation.

"What Glytter has done is just what her officials hoped they would do, start an international dialogue on an issue the international community often wishes to overlook." reports our Flynn Brady. "Kean was met with disgust theoughout Sveltana, but what he said could not have been said by His Majesty or the Taoiseach. Besides, he was hitting home to his base. Kean's popularity within Sparklevale and the nation has recently skyrocketed, opening new doors for his political future. At the end of the day, people within Glytter said what they did not because they just wanted to, but because they had to. As the Taoiseach herself pointed out, our nation has a long history of advocating for equality - particularly for the LGBT+ community. We are not about to abandon our principles as a nation just because the Sveltanan government does not wish to face criticism. Sveltanan internal affairs may be their own, but international affairs belong to all of us."

Ed Sharps Dies in Police Custody
The Communist Party General Secretary is reported to have died in police custody.

Oldtown, Shadwell - Ed Sharps, the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Caltarania, has reportedly died in police custody after being arrested in his Shadwell home on the 2nd of June, in suspicion of his connection to the riots which broke out across the High Kingdom. These suspicions have since been proven incorrect, though it was too late for the 63 year old politician, who had died in custody before being able to be released from police custody. The Metropolitan Police have yet to release a statement on the death of the former Communist Party leader, though it is feared that Mr Sharps' death was due to mistreatment at the hands of the police forces, with the preliminary stages of the postmortem currently suggesting that Ed died from shock, which is believed to have been brought on from mistreatment from the police forces who arrested and interrogated him.

When asked for a statement on the situation, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Caltarania told the CBB that "the loss [of Sharps] is a shock that will echo through-out the political landscape, and display the inherent tyranny of the current state of the nation". Other figures, too, have spoken out in support of the late politician, with Green Party leader Meghan Waters stating "Ed Sharps' death is the waking-up call for this nation, which has for too long passively accepted the somewhat tyrannic activities of the state. Mr. Sharps had done no wrong, yet had died due to poor conditions; this is not acceptable". The statements echo the comment made by Gaullican President Jean Vallette, who last week stated that he was "disappointed in the arrests of the Communist Party leader due to alleged connections to a demonstration that began as peaceful - and only degraded to violence due to excessive police intervention".

Prime Minister Harold Greenstone refused to comment on the issue, as did the Progressive Conservative Party as a whole.

President Vallette: "The death of Mr Sharps in police custody is absolutely barbaric."

Verlois, Ile de Fleur - Already hot on the tail of international politics after his remarks on the Same-Sex Situation in Sveltlana, Jean Vallette, the President of Gaullica, made another inspiring speech today at the heart of the Social Democratic Rally in Verlois. The former leader before ascending to the position of President, Vallette has long been an idealist on the principles of Liberal Socialism. Tensions in Gaullica were high, especially when news came from the High Kingdom that the government had cracked down on relatively peaceful protests. This opinion was made a note of during Vallette's previous "big speech" on same sex marriages. Today, we caught word of the President at a rally in Verlois and listened carefully to what he had to say.

As he stood at his podium, the banner of the Social Democratic Party fluttering in the background, the President of Gaullica kept his resolve and his cool in the face of the impending reporters and mass influx of cameras. "My friends." he began, a warm smile across his face. "It is a truly sad day today, that we learn of the news emerging from the High Kingdom. We stood, as a nation, with the protesters of Caltarania and their right to have a disagreement with their government and their right to protest this. What did the High Kingdom do? Arrest a man with assumed ties to these protests as a ringleader. That isn't a Democracy! That's oppression. Oppression of the right to express opinions. Mr Sharps was arrested on a half-baked assumption that was false and he died for it. The death of Mr Sharps in police custody is absolutely barbaric. Whilst we are generally seeking to improve our relations with the High Kingdom, we cannot stand with their government in this decision. My peers and I are frankly appalled at the actions of Prime Minister Harold Greenstone."

Harold Greenstone Steps Down
Prime Minister steps down after calling for a second general election, in midst of allegations of corruption.

Highminster, Shadwell - Mere hours after the Shadwell Metropolitan Police announced the death of former Communist Party General Secretary Ed Sharps, Progressive Conservative party leader Harold Greenstone has announced his resignation as Prime Minister. Among allegations of government corruption, police brutality and paedophilic behaviour from party backbenchers, the recently elected Prime Minister has called for another general election, though has announced that he will be stepping down from power regardless. In his speech outside of Highminster Palace, Mr. Greenstone stated that "the recent allegations against my government have become too many, and due to the ongoing protests across the nation I feel it prudent that I should step down, so that another leader may come along to persuade the people of this country that austerity economics are the only way forwards".

After his resignation, however, the Progressive Conservative party showed little sign of voting in favour of a second general election, with the various leadership candidates all having vowed to maintain the Progressive Conservative majority. However, most of the opposition leaders agreed with Greenstone's advice, with Socio-Democratic party leader Tom Norbund stating that "if democracy is to survive in Caltarania, then we must accept the fact that the people were not happy with the results of the previous general election". Despite this, neither Harold Greenstone nor Tom Norbund have advised a change from the current first-past-the-post voting system. Meghan Waters, the Green party leader, stated however that "FPTP is as good as a dictatorship when it comes to expressing political preference".

A few hours after the resignation, any hopes of a continued Progressive Conservative term were dashed when protesters in Shadwell broke through the police lines and marched into Highminster Palace, forcefully calling for a general election, with the support of countless politicians, celebrities and government members. The Progressive Conservative government were therefore forced to close Parliament, but not after calling for a second 2015 general election to be held in late July. The voting system for the election has not been confirmed, however there are rumours from reliable sources that a more proportional system may be used. The second campaign trail now begins.

ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE ROYAL ENGAGEMENT
St Ellen's announces the engagement of HM and Mr MacTomlin

ImageSHARE THIS: Image Image Image Image
Nessie Sinellen (@nessiesin)
30 June 2015 | Sparklevale, Gyltter

Image
HM King Kenneth IV and his mother, Lady Judith, process into last week's state dinner.

SPARKLEVALE - Earlier today at a palace hosted in the press room of St Ellen's Palace a spokesperson of the Crown announced His Majesty's engagement to Glytteronian pop star Louis MacTomlin. The spokesperson confirmed that the two have been dating for over two and a half years and that "marriage just seemed like the only logical next step for the two". The wedding is set to take place "this upcoming fall, preferably in November" and will be held in St Kolumba's cathedral in the capital city. St Ellen's has issued multiple statements via their website and social media accounts, tweeting "all royal and imperial families will be invited, as well as every siting Euclean head of state" and further went on to say "ambassadors from non-Euclean countries will be invited to represent their nations". While it has not yet been announced, it is expected all of the Glytteronian aristocracy will be invited along with influential political figures - including the leaders of all sitting political parties.

While HM has kept much of his personal life private, it has been discovered that he first met MacTomlin at the season finale of the 2010 season of the Yes Factor .
Image
MacTomlin in April 2015
Independent sources have reported that since then the two have kept in contact, with the King attending multiple No Direction concerts since. The two began an informal relationship around early 2012 and formally began dating later that year. Their courtship was kept out of the public eye until recent years when the two were spotted together in public quite often. Public interest in their relationship has exploded this year, and the privacy the couple once enjoyed has often been compromised. The most infamous occasion was an incident while the two were vacationing in Gaullica and paparazzo took pictures of the two skinny dipping in the pool at their coastal villa. Since then, the Royal Guard has increased security measures to ensure the privacy and safety of HM in both Glytter and abroad.

St Ellen's has said the engagement actually took place on the 20th of May and was supposed to be announced in mid-June, but its announcement was quickly postponed due to the diplomatic dispute between Glytter and Sveltana over the controversial referendum outlawing same-sex marriage in the Nordic nation. GBF analyst Flynn Brady said on the issue "it was the perfect time to announce the engagement. Following Glytter's victory in the international community over the issue of the Svelt referendum, the government can essentially use the engagement as a tool to gloat. Besides, June is LGBT+ Pride Month all around the world, with pride parades taking place in major cities everywhere. There is no better way to end Pride than with the announcement of the engagement of the world's only reigning openly gay monarch". This is nothing new in Glytter, however. Same-sex marriages have been preformed within the country since the sixteenth century and the nation has had multiple gay and lesbian monarchs. However, at what is seen as a crucial turning point for LGBT+ rights internationally, the upcoming Glytteronian royal wedding will be more than just a display of Glytteronian pomp and circumstance.

Kisinger's Nuclear Program

Joris Rossmark Announces New Nuclear Program

Minister Karl Tinomini (@CNADPRK)
June 30th, 2015

Dendron, Kisinger- Following the International Community's backlash to Sveltlana, which the Supreme Councilor only had to call "Childish" and commented "It is Svelt Affairs and they should stay Svelt Affairs", Joris Rossmark, the Supreme Councilor of our Grand nation of Kisinger, has released a statement regarding the new 'controversial' Nuclear Program, to the People's Council. He had this to say, "We, the people of Kisinger, are taking these footsteps to self reliance to further improve on our already strong Power Grid, and to further our Military Goals at home and abroad and this once again shows us the true strength that even through foreign ignorance and self reliance we have proven that we can stand strong and tall and show the world that we as one people are powerful."

Though this will more than likely be met with much scrutiny from the International Community Kisinger has shown no means of stopping it's program and has repeatedly refused any form of foreign news networks from entering and or taking interviews, as well as temporally closed it borders to all people deemed 'undesirable' which has included everything except, people who possessed Kisinger Citizenship. Various people were forced out of Kisinger following the closing of the border which as well included anyone of foreign citizenship. Countless people were forced out of their homes to make way for proper people of Kisinger Citizenship.

Outside of the very needed replacement of foreigners, Kisinger has released the goals of the program, which include ranging from, establishing a Nuclear Power Plant, to developing a Nuclear Warhead. Though rather unsurprising, it has come to a certain acknowledgement that the DPRK will no longer bow to the Westerners and their backwards ways and instead will only adhere to their own self reliance and determination which shows the only one true way is to no longer listen to any nation which force one government type on another country just as they do not understand the culture of the nation nor what the people truly want.

Seestein, Jonathania - (Yizhak Sigurdsen)

On the 30th of June the Kisin Supreme Councilor Joris Rossmark announced his countries new nuclear program. The program, so Rossmark, is done to be self reliant, to improve their power grid, and further their military goals.
In this case, in an unexpected turn, a country with a nuclear program in development has announced it actually being partially for intent of weaponization. The move, likely to receive a wave of both support and condemnation from abroad, based on partially hidden and partially revealed geopolitics.
The Rossmark government is also expected to raise a wide range of condemnations in its decision to close its borders to all of non-Kisin citizenship, including an Malos Chronicles team attempting to inquiry about the recent announcement.
The step amongst these most likely to raise an international reaction is, according to an anonymous source in the Seestein Diplomatic Academy, the forceful removal of all residents of foreign citizenship. Kisin news sources remained brief on the subject, mentioning it as a side-topic to the Kisin moves towards nuclear independence.

In an somewhat unorthodox move the first condemnation of these actions to be noted by our editorial staff is from the Jonathanian Foreign Ministry, breaking the line of the current monarch's predecessor of moderately supporting or not antagonizing regimes unfriendly with DITO and states perceived to be aligned with it. These steps, although surprising to an extent, jointly with the unconservative steps taken during the last months seem to indicate a trend of change under the leadership of the current emperor. Here the statement that was released by Mr Charters earlier today.
In a public statement, FM Sir Clinton Charters wrote:His majesty's government of Jonathania views badly on the decision of the People's Republic of Kisinger to develop a nuclear program for military purposes as well, and expresses its concerns that continuing so may de-stabilize the region or wide parts of Kylaris and endanger the current peace.
Even more so his majesty and the government, including ourselves, are highly concerned about the discriminating steps taking by the Kisin State on resident foreign citizens, including Jonathanian ones, and vis-a-vis the entry of non-citizens.
As such the Jonathanian Empire declares its intent to remain watchful on the development of aforementioned and hereby condemned events, and to consider taking steps in reaction when and if it should see the need to do so.

Foreign Office Officials speaking on condition of anonymity have added that while they do not expect any radical actions to be taken against the People's Republic of Kisinger the current path of the government seems to align with moderate and gradual steps to be taken assuming nothing on either side were to change.

The Malos Chronicles will attempt to remain up to date on the expected continuation of these events - 12:32
