I'm thinking about making the LMG's carry smaller bullets, so they can bring more magazines while carrying more in a magazine.

The primary use will be suppression and area of denial ( Urban combat, if needed ).

I know that ON PAPER the M60 was never squad lvl in Vietnam but I have read IN PRACTICE the Mechanized Infantry Units used it at the squad level whenever it was available. There was an article in Supply Line Magazine that i recall that talked about how platoon leaders would put in repair orders on their M60s to get sometimes 3-5 M60s sent out to them for their Mech Infantry Platoons. I assume that the Marines would have done this too whenever they could.

Don't know if it's silly or not. But when it comes to the company leadership, I had it so that in garrison conditions, the company CO would be an officer who has passed their staff officer course (ie major), while he is assisted by the officer with Master of Military Science (Ie, career captain), but when company mobilizes into field with rest of the battalion, the major will be transferred into the staff function in battalion, while captain is upgraded to the role of company commander, and reserve senior lieutenant from will be mobilized from the reserves to act as company 2IC?
