Keyword being specific. You're developing a highly specialized unit that can perform only one job. Most militaries try to train their units to be fairly good at their jobs, but also to be not-shit at something that's not quite their job. A dedicated COIN unit the way you propose it will be good at COIN, but it'll be shit at basically every other infantry mission.

I did say "maybe", and I'm already inquiring into a few peoples' weapons. I've got an AK/M4 copy on the table from somebody, and a nice SCAR-type weapon from another. All I'd need is some handheld AT weapons and I'm pretty much good to go.

If it were I, the COIN unit would be a specialized section of an already existing unit. Perhaps within the special forces or national police force.

Just use 6.5mm JMC, it is IIRC the most wide spread custom round across multiple storefronts, with most of the big players offering it as a option for at least some of thier weapons.



Of course you should really be using 6.25x43mm CFU or 6.25x48mm CF caseless
