Idk what Lugers you've been holding, but the majority of the Lugers I have shot have been of excellent build quality, reliable (as long as you aren't mentally incapacitated), and very accurate.

They were a bit of a waste of Germanies WWII resources, true, which is why they switched to the P.38, which was cheaper. Its also worth noting the Luger was one of the worlds first self-loading pistol designs, derived from the C.93 Bochart design. It was, therefore, necessarily to be as complex as it was, as no such concept existed yet for more common actions we see today. Which is why it was so complex

It served pretty well for about 60 years actually, so I really don't see where any of the concepts came from. If it was a terrible weapon, millions would not have been made, it wouldn't have been used by so many states (some to whom have simply dreadful conditions for firearms) for so many years.

That said, it is indeed outdated. Like pretty much every other handgun of the era.

No because every other handgun can be updated for the modern era because they all for the most part. But the Luger wasn't, isn't, and can never be effect. I've held roughly 14 different Lugers and 6 modern reproductions and the same problems remain through the ages. You'll never find one that will shoot more than 2-3 rounds without the whole thing just fracking up.

Well today is the first day I've seen a luger work right other than in a movie.

I personally have never seen a Luger fail, so I'm going to have to assume that they never have failed and never will.

I wonder if this guy is like me a long while ago. I used to like the Luger after I started getting into World War II. At least until I saw "Band of Brothers", the part where the Luger misfires into the guy's leg and (IIRC) he bleeds out because they're in the middle of the Ardennes during a snowstorm and they can't get him proper medical attention. It was then that my ten-year-old mind said, "I was wrong! Luger is worst weapon ever!"

I don't think the Luger is a terrible weapon nowadays, but it is still pretty ugly looking compared to, say, the M1911.
Internet conked out for two months. Deeply apologize to all I was involved with on the forums in various RPs and such.

Gave the heavy infantry a small amount of swag with the cape and painted shield, since they're what the Royal Guard recruits from most. It's no good going from no swag to lots of swag or you'll be overwhelmed.

Also I guess I'll start on the Royal Guard. There will be two types. Royal Guard Infantry/Swordsmen and Royal Guard Cavalry, who are perfectly capable of acting as spear infantry.

I didn't think that was because of any mechanical issues on the part of the Luger, as much as it was the unfortunate result of playing with a loaded firearm.

I'm watching this World War Two film (Saints and Soldiers) and the main characters have been stopped by some German soldier that has a silver necklace thing with a plate (with a golden eagle on it) saying "Feldengarmerte".

What is that?

If my nation's service rifle is chambered in 6.5 Grendel, what would a good round for our DMR be? I know the comparable duos would be like 5.56 and 7.62 nato, as well as 7.62 soviet and 7.62x54mmR, and so I was just wondering what a comparable cartridge would be to complement the grendel. thx!

How much strength could hide give to a shield that already has four bars, a boss and is rimmed? I don't think it would make a significant difference.
