How prevalent is tourism in your nation? Quite prevalent, despite also being among the most frequently avoided places in the region.

Anti-discrimination legislation

b) Are there any conditions for homosexual couples to adopt? No.
c) Do such laws apply to tourists? N/A

LGBT-Marketing
Does your country's travel companies market towards LGBT tourirsts? No travel companies based in Margno. The ones based in the Democratic Republic usually maintain a pretense of societism, but know perfectly well that Margno is a haven to sexual minorities.

Equal Age of Consent
1. Age of consent for sex for heterosexual couples: None
2. Age of consent for sex for homosexual couples: None
3. Is the age of consent different for tourists? N/A

Religious influence
1a) Is there a state religion in your country? Yes.
b)(i) Does the state religion condemn acts of homosexuality? Debated internationally, but the marginals haven't historically felt so.
(ii) If so, does a majority of the population follow this religion? Yes.

c) Do such laws apply to tourists? N/A

Pride banned

2. Are LGBT related activities welcomed or shunned by society in general? No.

Persecution

b) Are such acts glorified by the local media? No.

Murders

Gay tourists aren't really their targets, but a bus bombing doesn't care whether you're Nistine or Fesheth. None by locals, though. The only violent marginals are the members of Ex Echelus Nostrus and, more recently, the Blue Foxes, who are violently pro-gay and essentially neutral, respectively.
b) Are such acts glorified by the local media? No.

Death sentences
1a) Have there been reported executions targeted specifically at a person for committing activities related to the LGBT community/homosexual acts? No.
b) Are such executions glorified by the local media? N/A

Miscellaneous*

Official Information
Name of person/organisation taking questionnaire: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on behalf of His Most Royal Majesty's Government
Name of nation: Avaerilon
Form of government: Constitutional monarchy, parliamentary democracy
Population: 54,898,204
Tech level of nation: Fan-MT
How prevalent is tourism in your nation? Very much so; tourism is one of the leading industries in Avaerilon, and worth trillions of Aubs each year

Anti-discrimination legislation
1a) Are there any anti-discrimination laws that apply for all minorities? Where sensible and appropriate
b) Are there any anti-discrimination laws applying specifically for LGBT minorities? Where sensible and appropriate
c) How extensive do such anti-discrimination laws go? All such laws ensure that no-one is subject to ill-treatment, hostility and the like to ensure all minority and LBGT persons are treated equally with other persons, and have an equally fair chance to pure their chosen lifestyle, career and anything else in life without harassment or discrimination
d) Do such laws apply to tourists? Where appropriate to non-citizens; for instance, LGBT tourists can expect the same protection under the law from extreme phobias and violence as an Avaerilonian citizen

Marriage/Partnership
1. Status of civil unions in your country: Civil unions were made legal in the cases of non-heterosexual marriages in the early 1930s, with full marriage rights being granted in the 1960s. As such, they are technically defunct
2. Status of gay marriage in your country: Legal and recognised

Adoption Status
1a) Are homosexual couples able to adopt children? Yes
b) Are there any conditions for homosexual couples to adopt? No (there are no special conditions for homosexual couples; any conditions in terms of child adoption itself are the same as those for heterosexual couples)
c) Do such laws apply to tourists? n/a

Pride banned
1a) Are LGBT pride parades illegal in your country? No
b) If not, are such pride parades common in your country? Not especially; 'identity' parades are viewed as a foreign concept, and Avaerilon generally so accepting and tolerant that LBGT organisations do not feel the need to organise such parades. They have taken place in the past, but most LBGT citizens look on 'identity' parades as other Avaerilonians do- a little odd

OOC notes: It would be a good idea to expand the 'religion' section beyond simply a state religion and about religious beliefs and their stance towards LBGT in-general. The same could be done with the media section; i.e. it could be expanded to include questions about the existence of LBGT-specific media and how sympathetic the media as a whole is to the LBGT community. Currently, the index appears to presume hostility in-general from the media, which in the case of many nations, mine included, is simply quite untrue.

I think I had rushed a bit too fast into this, partly because I felt like I'd have no motivation otherwise, but this is a valid point, really: I just went and said 'state religion' because of the presumption on state religion generally affecting the index more than religion in general. And whether the media is sympathetic to LGBTs or if there is media specific to LGBTs is also important in this kind of an index.

I think I'll close this for now while I fix the issue. Probably have to fix some other things wrong with this index too.
