The war has been going on for a few months now. Or maybe a few years. There has been no atomic exchange... yet. The Purpelian army is advancing on some fronts, retreating on others. But ultimately the lines remain stagnant. The Nth tank battalion is positioned in the rear, several kilometers behind the front lines. They are resting, waiting for the inevitable time they will be called again to fight. The crews are stressed. Really stressed.
