Administrative Subdivisions of Cities

Postby Nouvelle Rhodes » Wed Jan 13, 2010 5:50 pm

What is the system of administrative subdivisions in the major cities of your nations?

In Nouvelle Rhodes, major metrolopoli and cities are broken up into quarters. Medium sized to smaller cities have boroughs, and towns and provincial areas are divided into shires. Quarters and boroughs are further subdivided into neighbourhoods and streets

Capital City: Fiorentina
--Government Quarter (Downtown--City Centre)
--Levantine Quarter (East)
--Latin Quarter (West)
--Cornish Quarter (North)
--Moroccan Quarter (South)

Largest City: New Amsterdam
--Trade Quarter (Commercial Hub--City Centre)
--Dutch Quarter (East--also trade hub)
--Greek Quarter (West)
--Quarter of the Orient (North)
--Algerian Quarter (South)

Invermere (Medium-sized city)
--Borough of Trent
--Borough of St. Paul
--Borough of St. Peter
--Borough of St. Ignatius
--Borough of Marrakech
--Borough of Alonsosberg

Wilhemsburg (town)
--Lindenwood-shire
--Anse-shire
--St. Vital-shire

Padullahstan's two largest cities, Uykesht and Möçur, are broken into various official police and electoral divisions as well as being divided into separate unofficial neighborhoods. Other cities are generally smalle enough not to need a lot of subdivisions. Here are what the areas of the cities are roughly grouped into:

Uykesht (Capital)
Downtown Region (Central North/East) (Wealthy)
Government Region (Central West) (Wealthy)
Park Region (West) (Wealthy)
Colmira Heights (Northwest) (Wealthly)
Sari Sonbahar Region (North) (Wealthly)
Reconstruction Region (East) (Destitute)
Old Uykesht (Central South) (Poor)
Çetiman Region (Southwest) (Poor)
Elti Region (South) (Poor)
Keklimur Region (Southeast) (Destitute)
Getiyaz Region (Northeast) (Poor)

Möçur
Port of Möçur (West)
Vikyur - Residential, Wealthy
Ancient City - Residential, Wealthy
1st Region - Downtown, commerical hub, largest region
2nd Region - Industrial region, northernmost part of the city north of port
3rd Region - Residential, Poor
4th Region - Residential, Poor
5th Region - Residential, Poor
6th Region - Residential, Poor

The Padullahstani Republic
"Where everything's classified!"™

This nation does not reflect the actual opinions of the poster at all, and this nation should not be taken seriously. At all. It's meant to be an over-the-top parody of dictatorships and oppressive regimes.

Haha yeah I thought I'd spice it up by putting the Oriental Quarter in the north instead of the east :)

The Kingdom is comprised of one city, Tsvarchi which is divided into five regions, which are further divided into neighborhoods, which are even further divided into sectors. Whew.

The entire city is run by the King, but each level of division has an elected council.

Cities are separated in kalihim'het'ny (singular: kalihim'het, translation: city-fractions) as well as different kalesa'het'ny (singular: kalesa'het, translation: voting districts).

City districts in Valeneska usually don't have names, but are numbered. The central, most important district is disrtict 1, and the numbers increase going further away from the city centre.
