How is your nation's timeline/history broken up? How is it taught in schools or studied by historians? What are they?

Rhodeve history is most often broken down into 2 parts, but can also be subdivided into 5 parts for further understanding. These parts are:

Each era in history revolves around a certain period which almost always follows or precedes a large war which dramatically changed the country. For instance, pre civil war monarchy was dominated by kings. While following the civil war, more attention from the public is towards having more Queens and less kings in charge over the country.

Each section may even further be historically divided by leader, but there have been too many leaders in Rhodevus, spanning almost 300 years of republic and monarchy. This division is usually left for historians and high school students.

Conclave Era (700 BCE - 2469 CE): Olwe did not yet exist, we were called Athan then

Crusades Era (2469 CE - 2478 CE): The Pagan Crusades, which led to the founding of Olwe

Exodus Era (2479 CE - 2490 CE): Olwe is founded, Yavanna is settled, the Conclave is refounded

Civil War Era (2491 CE - 2533 CE): The Conclave nations wage war against each other; afterward, Olwean Grand Duke Jason Frost dissolves the Conclave and centralizes leadership in Olwe, becoming the first Olwean Emperor

Golden Age (2534 CE - 2989 CE): A period of peace and prosperity; the first Princess of Olwe to be born after the nation name was chosen is born; the Futanari join the Empire, giving Olwe control over 2 planets

Schism Era (2990 CE - 3142 CE): Jason Frost's apprentice Aratar turns his back on Olwe and forms his own nation; in 3139, he returns to wage war on Olwe and assassinates the Olwean Empress

Greenleaf Era (3143 CE - 3649 CE): Trasta Greenleaf becomes the second Olwean Empress after Jason remarries; porn becomes, and then indefinitely remains, Olwe's top industry; Trasta bears Jason 2 daughters

Slave Wars Era (3650 CE - 3780 CE): Olwe conquers Ryloth and Phyrexia by military force, and announces that they will continue annexing slave-trading nations until slavery is ended once and for all.

Apocalypse Era (3781 CE - 4000 CE): Aratar returns and destroys large portions of the Empire, slaughtering millions. Millions die on his side too, and he is grievously wounded by Jason Frost in single combat and forced back into hiding.

Restoration Era (4001 CE - 4200 CE): Olwe rebuilds after the war with Aratar, devises new military intelligence techniques that allow for better readiness should Aratar return, and facilitates the coming of...

The Second Golden Age (4201 CE - 4988 CE): Although Olwe had some skirmishes during this time, there was mostly peace and always great prosperity. Olwe managed to become one of the wealthier economic-left nations in the multiverse and started to earn respect as a leader on the international stage. During this time, Olwe made first contact with allies such as Imeriata, Dekerin Domains, Joyous Zeltros, Zuni and YellowApple, and established the colony world of New Olwe just outside Dekerin space.

Pentagram Era (4989 CE - present): The Dekerin War Of Liberation occurs, and The Pentagram Bloc is founded out of the wreckage of that conflict; Olwe successfully beats back a Nicksyllvanian invasion attempt with the help of their new allies, then wages a successful psychological warfare campaign against the Nicksyllvanians that facilitates their defeat and annexation by Imeriata; Free Cappadocia is voluntarily annexed by Olwe; Olwe survives multiple zombie apocalypses; and Olwean Princess Lily Greenleaf becomes Queen of Gavinium Magnus.

There are many Eras of Blorbs, and they are generally organized in larger Eras with smaller ones taking place under them

Tribal Era:
Mt. Lorbs Tribe: Blorbs had not yet existed, but the very beginnings of it were created with the Tribe of Mt. Lorbs, which is where the name Mlorbs and Blorbs came from!
568-829 CE

Tribal Empire Era: After expanding greatly, the Mt. Lorbs Tribe decided to split into several different tribes that are fairly close to each-other governed by a 'head' tribe.
830-1098 AD
Mlorbian Era:
1st Kingdom Era: The several tribes of the Mt. Lorbs got increasingly advanced and large, so they finally decided to turn into one fairly large Kingdom.
1098-1146 CE

Empire Era: Mlorbs grew and conquered many lands until it became an entire empire ruling most of Kerbin
1147-1237 CE

Empiric Recession: Throughout Kerbin, much of Mlorbs land rebelled and succeeded, turning it back into a small to medium sized Kingdom.
1238-1302 CE

2nd Kingdom Era: After the Empiric Recession, Mlorbs took its fate as a small to medium sized Kingdom and kept peacefully to itself
1303-1425 CE

Civil War: A civil war of West vs East over democracy. The West (To-Be Blorbs) for democracy and the east (To be Orbs) against it.
1426-1440 CE

Early-Democratic Era:

Post-War Cleanup: After a very long 14-year civil war, Mlorbs split apart into Blorbs and Orbs, both cleaning themselves up and recovering back into working nations
1441-1475 CE

Golden Age: A combination of peace, scientific advancement and an influx of citizens made this time period extremely productive for Blorbs making the nation more desirable to live in, more powerful, and generally better.
1476-1669 CE

Socialist Revolution: Increased inequality and poverty percentages lead the entire political system to change fairly slowly into a Socialist system.
1670-1698 CE

Socialist Era:

Advancement Age: Socialist policies allowed for extremely increased budgets for scientific research leading to a time period of extreme technological advancement (NOTE: Even with the 'advanced' technology we were advancing in at the time, at this point we would still be considered Past Time, not MT)
1699-1838 CE

Modern Age: With the invention of the lightbulb, electricity, basic computers, etc. life had been changed forever in Blorbs as we ventured into modern technology and lifestyle.
1839-Present

[Lalaki]

Community Era
The Citizenry of Lalaki started off as a small settlement of volunteers of political activists located in Northern Nevada and California (United States). It operated de facto independently. While the United States never recognized this claim, no action was ever taken against the community.

Statehood Era
Eventually, a democratic referendum showed that members wanted to join the union as a state. After attaining the necessary approval from the Nevada and California legislatures, Lalaki applied for statehood. Congress accepted, and the community was part of the United States of America for three years.

Independence, and Modern Era
Within a short time, both the United States and Lalaki recognized that its relationship would be better served by an economic/political alliance instead of statehood. Many disagreements existed in terms of foreign policy, taxation, etc. The President officially accepted independence from the community, and Congress passed a resolution in the affirmative.

A new constitution was created, a militia was assembled, and diplomatic relationships were established with other nations. Lalaki remains very close to the United States, cooperating on many matters.

[Gandoor]

Pre-Indigenous Era (Before 1374 AD) - The various native peoples of Gandoor lived in individual villages and such. Gandoor as a nation or a concept didn't exist yet.

Indigenous Era (1374 AD - 1886 AD) - The native peoples of Gandoor unified into different nations based upon common languages or beliefs. Some nations conquered other nations and grew larger.

The Semi-Democratic Period (1587 AD -1603 AD) - The Gandoor Grand Council with the first settlements by Europeans is established and is ruled by 500 people. Gandoor's territory grows as a couple of the native people have their lands integrated into Gandoor's


The Absolute Monarchy Era (1603 AD - 1885 AD) - The Gandoor Grand Council was replaced by the Nzardom of Gandoor, a monarchy led by a Nzard. Gandoor's territory grows even more and by 1862, the only native people to not have their land as now part of Gandoor were the Ganba people, who now lived on the island of Descar as the Kingdom of Ganbano.

The Limited Constitutional Monarchy Era (1885 AD - 1902 AD) - Gandoor's first official constitution is enshrined into law, establishing the first permanent legislature for Gandoor. This creates the first checks, albeit limited ones, on the Nzards power. Gandoor achieves it's current borders in 1886 when the Nzardom of Gandoor and the Kingdom of Ganbano sign a treaty which officially dissolves the throne of Ganbano and establishes the island of Descar as Gandoorese territory and all people on Descar are granted Gandoorese citizenship.

The Revolutionary Government Era (1902 AD - 1904 AD) - The Nzardom of Gandoor is dissolved following a non-violent revolution. An interim revolutionary government is established during the period until things such as a new constitution, election structures, etc. are decided and put into place.

The Democratic Era (1904 AD - Present) - The revolutionary government is replaced with the modern day Democratic Republic of Gandoor, a democratic socialist nation committed to the ideals of freedom and equality towards all, with malice towards none. Gandoor's current constitution comes into power, a constitution which guarantees freedom of speech, religion, equality, and others, all of which were left out of Gandoor's first constitution in 1885.

The Lost Era (1940 AD - 1951 AD) - Alexei Petrikov is elected Prime Minister and utilizes the "State of Emergency Law", which would be repealed in 1952, to effectively turn the Forum, Gandoor's legislature, into a rubber-stamp committee and rules Gandoor as a dictator who was responsible for the deaths of around 800,000 people and an additional 350,000 were either sent to prison camps or exiled from Gandoor.

The Civil War Era (1953 AD - 1956 AD) - Gandoor is almost split into two following several of her administrative divisions declaring independence from her. However, the Democratic Republic of Gandoor is successful in the war and Gandoor remains unified.

The Post-War Economic Crisis Era (1956 AD - 1972 AD) - The aftermath of the war results in economic crisis in Gandoor. Unemployment reaches a peak of 19.6% in 1961, prices are high, certain markets (such as the television market in 1958) completely crash, and many people are worried that socialism has failed in Gandoor. However, by 1972, new economic policies and laws have been passed which led to 1972 being the official end to the crisis, with Gandoor's economy reaching pre-civil war levels by 1985.

The Peaceful Era (1956 AD - Present) - The Peaceful Era is the current era Gandoor is in (along with the Democratic Era). The Peaceful Era is characterized by exactly what the name implies: peace. Gandoor has not engaged in any form of warfare since the end of the Gandoor Civil War in 1956 and hasn't been involved in any international wars since the end of World War I in 1918. Instead, Gandoor focuses on the citizens and protecting their rights and freedoms and continuing the ideals that the modern government was founded upon.

[Magical Equestria]

Equestria's history can be divided into numerous "eras". The dating of them is rather obscure, due to the corruption of Time caused by the machinations of the Chaos god Discord. However, here they are in chronological order:

The Paleo-Pony Era

Equestria's "prehistory", before the rise of pony nations. Ponies first gathered into extended families, then herds, and finally tribal nations of Unicorns, Pegasi, and Earth Ponies.

The Warring Tribes Era

By now the three races of Pony had coalesced into three tribal nations: Unicornia, Pegasopolis, and "Earth" (Earth Ponies weren't very imaginative when it came to naming things). The three nations were in a state of near-constant warfare with one another. The conflict basically boiled down to which tribe, the Pegasi or the Unicorns, would be the ones to exploit the Earth Pony farmers. The Unicorn kingdom repeatedly attempted to exercise their authority over the Earth Pony nation, exacting a tribute from the crops they grew as "protection money" against the constant marauding of the Pegasi hordes.

The Classical Era

The years of constant warfare finally came to and end when an environmental catastrophe forced the pony nations to cooperate rather than fight amongst themselves. Eventually, the three tribes came to realize that they could not survive without each other, and from their union the nation of Equestria was born. Each tribe kept their local customs and forms of government, but the Unicorn monarchy was given nominal rule over the united nation, with the Pegasi raiders re-purposed as Equestria's first military. The Earth Ponies were liberated from their serfdom, and became the backbone of Equestrian agriculture and industry.

The Discordian Interregnum

The classical Equestrian nation collapsed almost overnight with the arrival of the Chaos god Discord. He overthrew the Unicorn monarch and proceeded to corrupt Time and Space, turning the beautiful land into a nightmare-scape of chaos and unreason. Only through the intervention of the Alicorn sisters Celestia and Luna were the chaos god's powers broken and order and harmony returned to the land.

The Sisters' Diarchy / The Principality of Equestria

Equestria was restored, but the Unicorn monarchy that had previously ruled it was no more--the line of royal succession had been thoroughly obscured by Discord's misrule. In recognition of their heroism in defeating Discord, the two sisters were given authority as co-rulers. Recognizing that there were many Unicorns who could claim descent from the old royal line, however, the title of King/Queen was abolished, and Celestia and Luna assumed the throne as ruling Princesses. Since then, Equestria has been a Principality rather than a kingdom.

The Lunar Rebellion and the Celestial Monarchy

The two sisters ruled jointly for many years, but sadly, Princess Luna grew jealous of her older sister's greater popularity. She turned against Celestia and attempted to usurp the Diarchy. Her treason and rebellion failed, however, and as punishment she was banished to the Moon. Celestia then assumed the throne as Equestria's sole ruler.

The Alicorn Oligarchy / The Modern Era

Princess Luna's exile lasted exactly 1,000 years, one of the few periods of Equestrian history that can be dated with any certainty. Upon her release, she was pardoned for her crimes by Princess Celestia, and re-assumed her throne, although as a junior Princess rather than co-ruler. It was during this time that other Alicorns began to be discovered. These beings, the most powerful and magical creatures in Equestria, were brought by Celestia into the government as a ruling oligarchy, the Order of Alicorns. As Princesses of Equestria, they have authority over the nation to varying degrees, depending on their seniority and experience.

[Alizeria]

Ancient Alizeria (Pre 810AD) Ancient Alizeria refers to the time when the island of Alizeria was first inhabited by humans (around 3000BC) and extends right up through the tribal wars until the three tribes of the island of Alizeria were unified into a single Kingdom by John the Conqueror.

Medieval Era (810AD - 1198AD) Begins when John the Conqueror gained control of the entire island, forming "the Kingdom of Alizeria". The era is marked by a number of civil wars and disputes over the throne and lasts up until 1198AD, when Christianity is introduced to Alizeria.

Middle Ages (1198 - 1607) Begins with the introduction of Christianity to Alizeria and the founding of the Church of Alizeria. Also the time that the Parliament of Alizeria is first founded and the seeds of democracy planted. Period marked by religious strife, mainly between the Church of Alizeria and Roman Catholics. Ends with the death of Nikolas the Great, a long-serving King who dies without an heir.

Cornellian Era (1607 - 1868) Begins with William III, ("Prince William of Belisaria"), taking the throne and making Alizeria a client state of the Cornellian Empire, paying a tribute to the Cornellians. This period coincided with the renaissance and throughout it the powers of the Monarchy were gradually weakened while the powers of Parliament strengthened. In 1773, Alizeria became Cornellia's first modern democracy, although it wasn't until 1801 that the first modern Prime Minister appeared. The period culminates in the Alizerian War of Independence in which more than a quarter of the population were massacred by the Cornellians.

Modern Era (1868 - Present) Begins with a traumatised Alizeria gaining independence from the Cornellian Empire. This period sees Alizeria's industrialisation, the Constitution of 1912 formally limiting the powers of the Monarchy to a ceremonial role, universal suffrage, the rise of the welfare state and Alizeria briefly attaining the highest standard of living in the region, until several periods of stagflation erode this prosperity beginning in the 1970s.

357-481 - Tribal Era

First colonisers from islands far away appeared, creating farm oriented villages in the South of Kamir.

481-902 - The Occupation Period

The abroad islands housed an Empire, the Neo-Kasevi Empire, which conquered and occupied what they called Kamev for over 400 years.

902-919 - The Freedom Era

A northern tribe named the Arir started a guerilla rebellion campaign against Neo-Kasev, ultimately killing the 3 governors of Kamev. Downfall of Neo-Kasevi began.

919-1266 - Dagevic Dynasty

King Leonald Dagevic of Maxus Hiera becomes first King of the Kingdom of Kamir. His family is in power until 1266 when King Leonald II is shot by a rogue archer during a parade in the new capital, Maxus Hiera. Civil War ensues.

1266-1289 - Civil War Period

The City of Maxus Hiera is destroyed, and an anti-monarchist rebel group takes power. A democracy is established with the new capital being Hetze Corda.

1289-1299 - The Breakaway Period

The Republic of Kamir is formed, but it lasts shortly with the breakaway of several states. Union of Occidente Kamir formed.

1299-1301 - 2nd Civil War

The turn of the century's festivities were short lived, the Union of Occidente Kamir funds pro-monarchist rebels in their path to establishing a new monarchy.

1301-1998 - Nebetu-Ducari Dynasty

King Vladamir Komerev becomes head of state, establishes his authoritarian policies and genocide ensues. He is overthrown by his son, King Nebetu Kaderrh who grants freedom to his people and begins the dynasty of the Unified Provinces.

1998-1998 - Second Split

Holy Land belonging to the extinct Arir tribe is liberated by a Marxist Rebel Group, several provinces in the South do the same, causing a divide in the holy city of Kamurtekeric.

2001-Modern Day - Unified Provinces under the Monarchy

The Unified Provinces under the Kamir Monarchy is established. A group which was used to undergo military operations to reunify Kamir under the Nebetu-Ducari Monarchy. Imperial King Alexander Ducari II becomes King in 2004 following Grand King Armaro Ducari's death.

[The United Neptumousian Empire]

The UNE has 3 eras, each based on the reign of one of its diarch pairs. There is the first known as the VeraVena Era. The second is the CerseaCure Era, and the present is the AuroraCure Era.

[Welskerland]

Tribal Era

Before Welskerland was even a nation, tribes roamed the land. They lived a semi-nomadic lifestyle and possessed crude firearms.
Archaeologists have confirmed that the ancient Welskians were racially similar to Caucasians, but culturally similar to the Mongols.

Era of Unity/a.k.a. The Protectorate

Around this time, the Welskians were invaded by the Thorlish, a powerful empire whose citizens descended from Norwegians. The emperor wanted to take over the the Welskian tribes.

To resist conquest, the Welskian tribes put aside their differences and ally together. They also request assistance from Tragandia, a nation that has a long hostility with Thorland. Tragandia agrees to send soldiers to repel Thorlish forces, but only if the Welskians unite into one political entity and become a territory of Tragandia.

They agree and become an autonomous territory with the only Tragandian interventions are in military and taxation. Thorland surrenders and pulls out all of their soldiers.

The new territory is named Welskerland, and gains an official status as a protectorate. After the war ended, the Welskians crowned their first monarch and the Council of Chiefs was dissolved. This further instilled a sense of national unity in the Welskians.

Independence Era

The Welskians were initially happy with being a protectorate as Tragandia pretty much left the territory to its own affairs, but over time Tragandia made increasing demands. The Tragandian president raised taxes to rebuild the nation. Unlike the previous presidents, this guy wanted to force all Welskians to learn English.

The Welskians became increasingly angry and rioted. A war began with the assassination of the governor general appointed by the president. This war was called the Independence War. It lasted for five years until a cease-fire was signed.

A new Tragandian president was elected and did not like war. He also felt that there were more important things for Tragandia to worry about instead of Welskerland. Instead of resuming the conflict, he allowed Welskerland to hold a referendum.
The Welskians voted for independence and in 1885 they became fully independent.

Post- Independence

Welskerland's king now wielded real power and ruled as an autocrat. Eventually the people grew tired of his tyranny, so they began rioting. The military intervened and put the king under house arrest. They told him that he could sign the Constitution and give up his powers or face execution.

He signed the constitution and Welskerland became a constitutional monarchy.

[Communist Espana]

Espana's timeline is broken up into era's of extreme importance years. Only very important eras are exempt from this rule.
How is it taught in schools or studied by historians?
In Grades 7 to 9 the children learn about the eras of Espana's history.

Spanish Rule
1700-1869

-Between September 19, 1700 and August 27,1869 Espana was under direct influence and governed by Spain.

Imperial Age
1869-1899

-Kings Philip I, Vincent III and Ilmoor, the later being the mixed son of Vincent the Third and a Moroccan Princess, Ilmoor's heritage lead to revolution long after his death.

Pre-Revolution Era
1899-1922

-Kings Ilmoor II and Shomar I, son and grandson of King Ilmoor, Ilmoor II's rule was peaceful, but Shomar I's was cut short when extreme nationalist with the help of France outs him. The King fled from Espana around the world until assassinated in 1927. When the King left, the secret communist party came to light and swayed many.

Dutch Regime
1922-1936

-With King Shomar I in exile, King William and Queen Mercina of Holland were chosen to govern the nation. Though the royals themselves were relaxed and casual, their laws and authority was harsh and few people liked it. When Shomar was assassinated in 1927, many blamed the Dutch Royals.

First Communist Civil War
1936-1942

Prince Shomar II, studying communism while in exile in the Soviet Union returned to Espana to claim his throne and spread communism. This ended the Dutch rule, the Royal family was prisoned and executed. This also started a 6 year long war between the nationalist and Communist. Shomar II won the war and was made King and Espana communist.

Communist Regime
1936-2002

King Shomar II and King Shomar II with both long rules and supported communism.

Second Communist Civil War
2002-2006

Confederate Era - 2022-2044. The age of the expanding Confederacy, then renamed Eurasian Confederacy and later Terran Confederacy.

First Pilgrimage - 2044-2071. The age of exodus, when the loyalists of the Emperor wandered among the stars in search of a new home.

Pre-Imperial Era - 2071-2099. The early colonial period of the Imperium, when the first Sidh settlers established themselves among the stars and when the early Sidh culture formed.

Skargh Wars -2099-2104. The age when early Sidhae and Mankind fought side by side against the Skargh onslaught and prevailed.

Early Imperial Era - 2104-2124. The age when the Imperium definitely formed, and when the brief War of Terra was fought, leading to the landmark Treaty of Terra.

Age of Peace/Old Imperial Era - 2124-2232. An unprecedented age of peace and prosperity, when the rivalling galactic powers expanded peacefully, rising to yet-unseen heights of power and glory.

Age of War - 2232-2500. An age of general turmoil and warfare, when the Imperium was invaded by a human-Skargh coaliton following a lengthy civil war that followed the Emperor's assassination. Eventually, the remnants of the Imperium were evacuated to uncharted space by the decree of the Empress. This period overlaps with the Second Pilgrimage.

Second Pilgrimage - 2245-2549. A period overlapping with the Age of War, one of resettlement and rebuilding following a mass exodus after the devastation of the Old Imperium.

Reconquest Wars - 2549-2583. An age when Sidhae returned with a wrath to reconquer the territories lost during the Age of War. The campaigns were mostly successful.

New Imperial Era- 2583-present (i.e. 2630) A period of limited local-scale warfare, as opposed to the total war of the Reconquest Wars. The present age in which the Imperium exists. Not believed to last for more than another decade before another full-scale war.

[Hyfling]

OOC: Hyfling's hstory is still under construction, so this may be retconned or changed in the future. It's already different to my factbook entry.

Pre-Colonial ?-1672: prior to colonisation, the land was inhabited by natives of the mainland. Thought to have arrived from the cradle of life in the South Pacific, the various native tribes that lived on the mainland (they never made it to the surrounding islands of Hyfling) were untouched for around 20,000 years with a peak population of a few million.

Colonial/Three Empires 1672-1693: Hyfling's landmass was first discovered by a Bar Vistian vessel, the BHS Hawkwood, in 1672. Three colonies, Murchison, Florian and West Hyfling in the western portion where established. Meanwhile, Blackwater Harbor, a powerful trading city state, landed in the northern region, and established two colonies, North Hyfling and Aurelia. Lastly, Ormill, an ambitious new empire took most of the eastern portion, and established New Ormill, Great Southern and claimed the large Forth-West Islands.

Era of Consolidation 1693-1768: the three way ownership of Hyfling was unstable for a multitude of reason, partially due to Bar Vista and Ormill's intense rivalry. Blackwater fell upon hard economic times, and essentially sold North Hyfling and Aurelia to Bar Vista. Ormill partially collapsed due to revolutions in it's colonies and homeland, and Bar Vista swiftly took control of the now unbacked and reeling New Ormill and Great Southern, while Forth-West joined the other colonies by its own choice. The entire continent was now under one empires control.

Independence: 1768-1850s Hyfling never had a war for independence, though there where a series of uprisings. The colony was getting difficult to manage, as it now had a larger population than Bar Vista. A famine and a series of poor decisions by Bar Vista caused widespread opposition to the continued occupation of Hyfling. The two nations reached a deal and Hyfling was made independent.

Industrialisation: 1850s-1900s Hyfling's population boomed due to a gold rush in the East and West, while the Northern population swelled due to a vast mineral reserve of silver and tin being discovered. In a rush to develop and connect the nation, a large steel and locomotive production industry appeared, and the railways allowed greater trade between the states and a communications network sprung up. Early power schemes where constructed in the North, North-West and Island regions.

First Arkrovian War: 1912-1920 a war concerning Bar Vista and the newly formed socialist nation of Arkrovia erupted. Hyfling pledged to help it's former colonist and helped. The war quickly spiraled out of control and most of Bar Vista was captured. Hyfling and Bar Vista as well as its allies managed to keep control over most of the homeland, but its remaining colonies fell into disrepair after being essentially abandoned, resulting civil wars rage between the 'free' colonies..

Interwar Period/Depression 1920-1948: the interwar period began in 1920, when the war ended. Initially, Hyfling had an economic boom, as is common post war. It continued to grow and prosper until 1936, when an economic crash crippled the economy, the depression lasted until 1942.

Hyflingian Cold War/Second Arkrovian War 1948-1972: the Cold War began in 1948 when both Hyfling and Arkrovia rushed to develop nuclear weapons and an arms race began. Hyfling developed its first nuke in 1951, with Arkrovia building theirs in 1953. Tensions finally broke in 1956 when an Arkrovian ally (the United Communist Republic, or UCR) attacked the Lyle Islands, a Hyfling dependency and foremost nuclear research and testing ground. Hyfling responded with a nuclear attack on the UCRs homeland killing 60,000 and swiftly took back the islands. Arkrovvia threatened nuclear retaliation, but instead invaded allied Bar Vista again. Arkrovia took the capital while Hyfling toppled the UCR. Arkrovia attacked Hyfling's Southern coast, but the nation pushed back resulting in bitter fighting across the Islands. Then attacked occupied Bar Vista retaking the land prior to the first war, before Arkrovia and Hyfling finally agreed upon a ceasefire in 1961, for fear of nuclear weapons use. The Cold War continued on until 1972, when both nations finally agreed on a full peace treaty.

Hyfling Economic Miracle 1965-1990s: also known as the Golden 30, the Economic Miracle was a period of powerful economic expansion. After the ceasefire, their was a push to further industrialise Hyfling and bring it into the modern era. Hydroelectric schemes were developed and massively expanded upon, new nuclear power plants were constructed across the nation, roads were rebuilt and Hyfling entered a period of strong economic protectionism. The nations population ballooned rapidly from 1 billion to nearly 3 billion.

Contemporary Era 1970s-2000s a period of rapidly changing social and cultural norms. Known for it's various styles of music, art, movies and fashion.

Modern Era 1990s-? exusing a minor recession in the 1990s not much has happened this far.
