It is illegal in some parts of the desert to own more than five water containers with volumes greater than 250 liters but less than 500 liters.
This was done in order to prevent the hoarding of water without preventing the collection of water required for drinking or water required for agriculture. It is assumed that water containers less than 250 liters are for drinking, while those greater than 500 are for agriculture.

The law has been entirely ineffective and mostly repealed, but a few areas still maintain it.

It is also specifically illegal to engage in male-on-male sexual actions during a war council. This law is directly inspired by a particular individual who shall not be named who kept bringing his male whores with him when participating in a war council. This law is mostly useless as it is illegal in general to have sex during an act of government bureaucracy.

One of our most ancient laws is 'A woman shall not drive a horse drawn carriage without the consent of, and presence of a her husband'. This is obsolete, considering the line between gender equality was destroyed during our last presidents term.

In Adriopium, it is illegal to shoot a camel. This is a holdover from the time the original refugees poured into the mostly uninhabited steppe regions, and they used all sorts of pack animals. It is also illegal to shoot horses, llamas, and oxen.

Foreigners often say we have strange laws in world empire but we think we don't!

    1. Every home has to have a portrait of His Imperial Majesty Emperor Ronald I on the wall, but nothing may be placed higher on the wall than the portrait
    2. Excessive eye-contact with The Emperor is forbidden, excessive meaning 5 seconds or longer. Only Ministers, Generals and The Emperors family are not subjected to this law
    3. Only The Emperor and Empress may use and wear the specific dark-red color called ''Imperial Red''
    4. No one may have the exact same haircut as His Imperial Majesty Emperor Ronald I
    5. Everyone has to kneel with their head touching the ground when meeting The Emperor
    6. No one may sit on or touch the throne except The Emperor (only when maintenance or cleaning is needed other may tocuh the throne)
    7. Refusing to applaude at the end of a public speech by His Imperial Majesty Emperor Ronald I is illegal
    8. Adressing to His Imperial Majesty Emperor Ronald I with just Ronald is highly illegal

Feel free to comment and say what you think about this laws.

You are forbidden from calling the Emperor "the Emperor, excellency, your imperial majesty, etc. while in church. You must always call or refer to as the Emperor as "Brother" followed by the Emperor's first name. So in the case of the current Emperor he would be called "Brother Alexios"

One of Europa's strangest laws is that "It is illegal to detonate a thermonuclear device within 150m of a settlement, anyone caught doing so would be shot on sight."

No one is quite sure how and why this law is in place as the detonation would render it impossible to implement.

Another strange law is that "It's illegal to go to the beach without a military escort."

This was implemented due to incidents of people stepping on mines at the beach.

Due to a technicality, it is illegal to hold hands after 5 PM if the sun isn't setting by the New Havenite bay.

It's actually been enforced once by a very anal PSICOM officer and the entire reason we even noticed.

We make up these kinds of laws up on a daily basis for shits and giggles. Once a year there's the Skirt Day, when everyone has to wear a skirt. Failure to do so will give everyone else the right to forcibly dress you up as a girl for the whole month. Quilts don't count. It's fucking hilarious.

Also one of our more obscure laws is that you cannot look at the crescent moon. Doing so is perceived as Islamic and the penalty is deportation and/or genocide.

Good point!

The Emperors parents sadly died more than 20 years ago, he hasn't got any brothers or sisters. but The Empress is of course allowed to just use his name.

It is illegal to detonate a thermonuclear warhead in Yukonastan, unless one is currently present at a registered firing range with nuclear weapon authorization.

This makes it perfectly legal to detonate a thermonuclear weapon you aren't authorized to own, ie that you don't own a letter of approval for that warhead. This is the official interpretation of the law. However, many people believe that the law relates to the firing range needing to be authorized for the detonation of nuclear weapons, which is obviously false.

It's still illegal to detonate a thermonuclear warhead not at a registered firing range.

In 2023 Emperor Connor I passed a law that made personally addressing Emperor Connor I as 'Your Highness', 'My Emperor' or 'Your Majesty' illegal, for he hates being addressed by such terms. No-one ever broke it, but to this day people ponder whether they'd be actually punished for doing so.

In Butterbrook Canton it is illegal to pave the roads with banana peels, or coconut shells.

In Heatherbrook Canton a man whistling to get the attention of a woman who is not his wife or close kin is punishable with a 5 pence fine.

Fishing with cannons is to be officially discouraged by all peace officers in Juniper Canton, but for some reason was it was never outright banned.

Driving on the same road that cattle are sleeping with intent to startle them is illegal in Arroyo State

All automobiles in Columba State are required to have functional working windshield wipers. There is no law requiring roadworthy vehicles to have windshields, however.

No Officer of the Commonwealth may use his sidearm (usually a 45 cal pistol) to swat flies.
