Abortion in your nation

What are the laws regarding abortion in your nation?

Atlanticatia has very pro-choice abortion policies. It is completely legal, with no restrictions. There is no requirement for parental notification if a teenager seeks an abortion.
All abortion services are publicly funded, and available for free on the public health system.
All of the major political parties support the current policy, including the Christian Democratic Party. (Until 2012, their policy was to reduce public funding for abortion services, however they changed their policy after a new socially liberal leader was chosen.) Abortion isn't really a common topic that comes up in political discourse, as there is a pro-choice consensus.

The Burzilian government has recently legalized abortion as a response to the rapidly growing Burzilian population. Many poor people are also working as 'aborters' in order to earn money for living just by 'aborting' a baby. The mother will, of course, have to pay for this otherwise expensive operation.

Completely legal for any reason through the first trimester. After the first trimester, abortions may still be sought for reasons of rape and medical necessity. All abortions are performed at no cost to the patient.

Abortion is completely legal in the Montesardi republic, but even so, some parts of the nation frown upon the action.

Abortion is legal only in cases of rape and incest or health of the mother. These legal restrictions are upon the order of the Federal Council, and all laws, regulations, and policies related to this subject are provided, defined, and descripted under the All Citizens of Chadtonia Have The Right To Life Act of 2014.

Highly illegal, Servinta needs more workers to man the production lines and more conscripts to man the front lines.

The Servintan goverment has a strong healthcare and welfare system that also carries a well regulated and funded adoption and orphanage organization.Mothers who do not want their children can simply take them to the nearest goverment building and hand them off to a certified family management officer (which is in every federal workplace), and if they do want children but can't afford it then they can always apply for the national family funding program (imagine food stamps but for young children only).

EDIT:Extreme cases like rape, incest, and detected birth defect are allowed with proper proof and paperwork.

Legal up to the end of the first trimester. Legal at any time if complications arise (such as debilitating/life-inhibiting disabilities or risk to the mother's life).

The Ministry of Health requires all people under the age of 20 to receive abortions, and people whose children within the womb are found with birth defects are required to have abortions. Also, when the woman in is in danger of dying because of the child or the child was conceived because of rape, abortion is optional. Accidental pregnancies are not allowed to be aborted as a punishment for the parent's carelessness. However, all children are allowed to be put up for adoption by the parents.

(This may or may not reflect my actual opinions on abortion. I will not disclose my actual opinions on the subject as to not make people angry).

Therapeutic abortions (including abortions for psychologically therapeutic reasons, such as in the case of pregnancies resulting from rape, as well as those involving the child exclusively, such as a debilitating genetic disorder and/or detected debilitating abnormality) are legal with no restrictions. Since rape is defined to be any instance in which one or more participants in sexual contact did not provide informed consent, this also covers the pregnancies of those who are younger than the YellowApplan age of majority (32 hexadecimal megaseconds, or approximately 17 years, for Homo sapiens sapiens), since they are - by definition as minors - incapable of providing informed consent on a legal basis.

Elective abortions are legal with no restrictions up to the point of fetal viability (i.e. when a fetus as an approximate 1/2 probability of surviving if born prematurely; in the case of most subspecies of Homo sapiens, for example, this is documented to be on the 24th week after the last menstruation, or approximately 22 weeks after fertilization, according to this chart). Generally, after this point, abortion processes differ only minimally from typical childbirth methods (be it via induced labour or by surgical means). Therefore, viable childbirth is preferred except for very specific circumstances (usually those classifying it as a therapeutic abortion instead); unwanted children are submitted to the Department of Domestic Relations' Surrogate Childcare Division (after receiving any necessary medical care resulting from the premature birth, if it took place, and assuming the fetus survived the ordeal), and the mother (and/or insurer) is billed for an abortion regardless of outcome.

In practice, late-term abortions are very rare within YellowApplan jurisdiction due to the high availability of advanced medical procedures, diagnoses, facilities, and personnel; it's generally possible to detect the formation of an embryo very soon after fertilization thanks to developments in non-intrusive medical imaging technologies and refinements in the detection of hormonal abnormalities.

Legal only for health of the mother.
Illegal to have an abortion just because it was rape or incest.

There is no requirement for parental notification if a teenager seeks an abortion.
Abortions are not tax funded for people who can afford to pay for their own abortion or who have private health insurance that covers abortion. Tax funded does not = free.

Abortions are rare in Freemopia, in large part because:

Gov funded sex education, birth control education, and sterilization encouragement is broadcasted as public service announcements on TV and radio, and pamphlets (with lots of large color pictures) sent to all residents yearly that they can opt out of. (Disincentives sex, especially unprotected sex, encourages sterilization and condoms)
Sterilization is a 10minute procedure, in and out of the clinic in an hour, back to work in a few days. Sterilization is safer than abortion and childbirth.

Birth-control, and rides to and from the birth-control clinic, are funded for all poor inhabitants who want it. Poor inhabitants qualify for a cell phone. (So they can call the birth control clinic and order a ride) Appointments usually are not needed as they are often ready to serve you right away.

Gov funded sterilization buses and cars are brightly colored, match each other and the sterilization clinics, have sterilization in large print on each side, and play the pro-sterilization song (there is only 1 pro-sterilization song that is played repeatedly and nationally for gov-funded sterilization vehicles and outside of sterilization clinics) on a loud speaker.
Gov-funded sterilization buses make daily rounds around each town, about at least 1 per 50,000 people, with the phone # and address of the central sterilization clinic in that town; calling can also refer you to the # and address of local neighborhood sterilization clinics. Sterilizations can be performed on the bus.
Gov-funded sterilization cars make daily rounds around neighborhoods, about at least 1 per 100 people. The cars give rides to the neighborhood sterilization clinic, and have matching phone # and address of the neighborhood sterilization clinic.
There are sterilization clinics (with huge brightly colored signs that match the sterilization cars) located in each neighborhood of about at least 1 per 100people, and the pro-sterilization song outside of the clinic so people driving by can hear it.

Tax deductions:
- get sterilized. Tax deduction for cost of sterilization plus $1000, plus potential complications.
- get sterilized before age 10 $2000/m deduction forever (24,000/yr)
Before: 11 $1940, 12 $1880, 13 $1820, 14 $1760, 15 $1700, 20 $1400, 25 $1100, 30 $800, 35 $500, 40 $200, 41 $140, 42 $80, 43 $40, 44 $30, 45 $20, 50 $15, 55 $10, 60+ $5
All tax deductions roll over, so if you don’t have a taxable level of wealth (such as at age 10), your tax deductions will add up so when you eventually have a taxable level of wealth, tax deductions take effect.

Pregnant females who don't want their child can put it up for adoption instead of having an abortion. There are many loving people that want to adopt a baby in Freemopia.

a new law should be founded that requires a licence to conceive children, and under conditions without both parties consent whoever is responsible for conception is responsible for funding that child's growth, while loosing their licence to conceive along with other legal perimeters, the licence will not allow ill people to conceive or care for children, conception without licence requires the conceives to fund the childs growth without raising them, and abortion would only apply to those under conditions of rape incest and health of mother, with time limits applying to all of the above

Legal with little social stigma, but incredibly rare as a result of extensive family planning policies entrenched in government since the 1970s.

Abortion is illegal in Limoncello, unless the pregnancy is detrimental to the health of the mother. The government has taken measures to inrease the ease and anonymity with which mothers may put newborns up for adoption if they are unable to raise the child on their own. It is a crime to perform an abortion, but not to procure one.

Studies show that while illegal abortions do occur in Limoncello, they occur at lower levels than in most other developed countries, partially because Limoncellese tend to marry rather early.

Abortion is completely legal in Allanea. All forms of abortion are legal, and in most states, it is considered legal at all points, even literally during birth. This extremist and somewhat morally controversial solution has been implemented to avoid any, even the most moderate, attempts to restrict abortion.

Furthermore, abortion is, in most jurisdictions in Allanea, legal on request on any age. Parental notification laws differ by state.

In addition, all contraceptives, including the so-called "abortion pill", are legal over-the-counter.

Several Allanean charities operate "abortion ships", on board which it is possible to receive an abortion. The doctors on Allanean cruise liners and pleasureships will also make abortions available for anyone who is aboard the vessel.

Abortions are legal due to Court Ruling 78-B38 "Alþng vs State" which states that as an undeveloped organism a fetus dose not have the right to personhood status and thus abortion must be legal. The state has accepted this ruling and has legalized abortion however it is heavily restricted with the first 20 weeks being the time when one may get an abortion at anytime for most any reason (however if ones had multiple abortions in quick succession thay can be denied) and afterwards you need medical reasoning for an abortion. Once the fetus has developed pass the 50% survival rate stage the policies change which favors adoption over abortion unless in serious medical conditions.

All abortions are performed in hospitals so that they can be monitored in a medically sound area and doctors are held to high standards in regards to operation and execution of the procedure. Docteran are also required by law to preserve the life of any fetus if the abortion happens within a specific time period (usually after the fetus has a 50% survival rate) alone with other minor regulations.

Abortion rates are low with a strong social stigma against abortion and a society that has become used to the idea of contraceptives and safe sexual practices being attributed to the low numbers.

by The Flood
In the Flood, abortion is illegal unless it is necessary to save the mother's life, without exception. It is also illegal to advocate for legal abortion, pro-choice advocates will be arrested, and forcibly re-educated. The Flood is also extremely aggressive in its foreign policy toward pro-choice nations, and will become hostile if a Floodian citizen procures an abortion in a foreign nation, if the doctor who performed the abortion is not extradited to the Flood to receive life imprisonment for the murder of a Floodian citizen.

Abortion is also extremely stigmatized in the Flood. Being pro-choice openly would cause a person to become a pariah, such a person may become the target of vigilantes, and it is likely that the police may look the other way. This is not the official stance of the government, however, as the Imperial Government opposes vigilantism and the death penalty.

by The Batorys
Abortion has always been legal in the territory of the Batory clan. "Life begins at conception" has never been part of their world view, and they would find the idea baffling, as the more traditional view for them is that someone really isn't a person until a year old.

Some advocate for restricting abortion in various ways, but so far the traditionalists have won out and so abortion remains completely unrestricted.
