A Letter from the Holy Father

To the Emperor Markus III,

Surely, as a nation from the Catholic region of the world, you must realize that this Ken Ham is a known heretic. You must also know that cavorting with heresy against papal censure is punishable by excommunication, interdict, and even execution. This rule also applies to shamelessly disregarding official papal positions, which in of itself is heresy. My predecessor Pius XII confirmed that science is indeed the truth, and compatible with God's word. This position was later expanded by St. Pope John Paul II. He said:

"In his encyclical Humani Generis, my predecessor Pius XII has already affirmed that there is no conflict between evolution and the doctrine of the faith regarding man and his vocation, provided that we do not lose sight of certain fixed points.... Today, more than a half-century after the appearance of that encyclical, new findings lead us toward the recognition of evolution as more than a hypothesis. In fact it is remarkable that this theory has had progressively greater influence on the spirit of researchers, following a series of discoveries in different scholarly disciplines. The convergence in the results of these independent studies—which was neither planned nor sought—constitutes in itself a significant argument in favor of the theory."~St. Pope John Paul II

It was officially added to the Catechism by Pope Damasus III, my great-uncle. With this, we request that this damnable museum of lies be torn to the ground as soon as possible. If this is rebuffed, further actions will be taken by the papacy, and if necessary, the Kingdom of Spain.

From,
His Holiness, Pope Julius IV, Bishop of Rome, Vicar of Jesus Christ, Son of the Mother of The Church, Sole Successor of the Prince of the Apostles, Supreme Pontiff of the Universal Church, Primate of Italy, Duke of Gandia, Archbishop and Metropolitan of the Roman Province, Gonfalionier of the Papal Armed Forces, Sovereign of the Vatican City State, Servant of the servants of God.

A response was quickly dictated in a memorandum:

Papal doctrines do not exceed Biblical truth.

Sincerely,

Emperor Markus III

Most citizens seem to be glad of a religious museum, but are concerned that it may deny the other half of the story. Most Asterdanians see the Genesis story and modern scientific theories to be the same story, just different explanations.
You can call me Aster. Yes, I did revive this nation... Again...
