Portuguese is currently ranked number 39 on the list of the top 50 foreign languages for study in Avaerilon, so while it is not particularly common for for it to be studied, it is by no means unpopular.

Portuguese Jesuit Ministers were the first Europeans to visit Silla Puja, in 1513. A small Portuguese trading post was later established, but English has been a much more popular foreign language. Only 1% of the population speaks Portuguese.
