1) Why is he carrying three weapons? He only needs a rifle and maybe a pistol, everything else is extra weight that could be extra ammo.
2) I'm not seeing any real supply of food or water. Also missing a GPS and/or compass.
3) Bayonet or grenades?

1) What does the hatchet have to do with anything? I mean it could be argued to replace a bayonet, but not really.
2) So recruits can bring whatever weapons they want? That sounds like a nightmare for the troops, officers, and logistics personnel.
3) Hunting for food actually takes a good bit of time, and doesn't cover all nutritional needs. You don't want your soldiers to be losing time when they can be doing other things like fighting the enemy.

So then folks, this suitably hefty (.565 (maybe .582) inch chambered) revolver needs a locking mechanism and a potentially better designed grip.

Standard Republican Legionnaire Load-out:
TR-24: A bullpup battle rifle chambered in 7.62mmx51. Full auto with a 30 round magazine.
PDP-10: Standard sidearm chambered in .45 ACP, 15 round double stacked magazine

MBS: Main Battle Suit allows complete protection of soldier while enhancing their battlefield capabilities. Helmet comes standard with radio communication, GPS, live battle updates from command and other soldiers, detailed map readings, cooling system, gas mask, night and thermal vision etc. Body armor allows up to 150 additional pounds to be carried without compromising the speed of the soldier. Chest armor has the ability to have pouches attached to it for ammo, grenades, etc. Small sensors and cameras on the MBS analyze the surrounding area and make the proper changes to the suits camouflage patterns.

y) NAVO standardization only covers ammunition, mind. You'll still be forced to provide logistical support for dozens of different rifles that your recruits will no doubt clutch to after basic.

Haven't used Innawoods for ages, but yeah. SGF infantryman, more or less. Just imagine the Galil is one of these, that there are six packets of rounds instead of four, the gas stove is a folding hexamine/esbit deal and there is a field dressing and a morphine syrette in there somewhere. Also the soup, tea, coffee and biscuits represent much smaller portions than what's shown.
