Muskets don't really have a terribly large muzzle blast. They have a lot of smoke but that's about it, its nowhere near the same blast as most modern rifles

Depends on how you measure them. Modern muzzle blasts are like very quick flashes of light, whereas the muzzle blasts of muskets are like streams of fire and sparks

It's pretty clear which is more badasserer

Since the ban on x in your nation threads, and since this is infantry-related, I thought I'd post it here for the guy.

Anyway: Y'stan's special forces are mainly employed to tactically airdrop behind enemy lines, then tactically seek out crucial infrastructure for civilian life, then tactically destroy or disable it. This is done ahead of the main spearhead of an invasion, so tactical operating is required from everyone.

To be tactical enough, absolutely everything has :not:NATO rails on it. Even the bullets, primers, cases, and grains of gunpowder, even though the rails are sufficiently miniaturized to not impede intended function.

Not to mention the knives.

I have a thing with rifle barrels where I have preferences for everything.

If you use this in an AK style system stick with a 400-450mm, if you want a more M16, 450-500mm
inb4 San and muh M4.

Longer barrels are for DMRs and Machine Guns, not infantry basic rifles. 600mm is excessive.

What of the fact that the calculator tells me that apparently I can get AK-74 velocities out of this thing from a 250mm barrel? What horrible side effects would that entail?

The Army has the Ranger Battalions and the Navy has the Naval Scout Companies. Radictistan special forces are almost totally focused on LRRP/Special Reconnaissance. Direct Action is veruy much a secondary role and Foreign Internal Defense/Unconventional Warfare are not even on the radar.

Yea, that's a good point. All the extra powder that's in there but not in 5.45x39mm would now be leaving the muzzle still burning. That can't be fun.
