Kinda want to use a British-style regimental system for my army, but I guess it only really works over here because we're so small. Not sure how it'd work in a country roughly the size of Kazakhstan with a much higher population density. Thoughts?

Kyiv and Mat have been trying to explain to me Brigadisation (using regiments as the primary manoeuvre unit) over on the Realism Consultancy thread.
Regimental models are valid for forces of any size - it just conveys a different method of organisation.

I mean you're on perspective instead of orthographic, so the edges of the model look angled. Notice how you can see inside the hole at the bottom? In orthographic you would just see straight through it.

I admit I'm probably generalising the term too broadly, but I see the terms brigade and regiment as wholly interchangeable in general terms until specified for specific cases - BCT and standard regimental model, for example (I also tend to see "Brigade" in a Division-centred model as being a regiment-sized unit but independent of a Division command).
