But can I pack them tighter? I am asking because one flaw of my new cartridge is that, being very sloped the magazine tends to reach 7.62x39mm 30 round size and shape at about 20 rounds if I pack them with just a 0.5 offset.

Also, what kind of bad things would happen if I stacked sloped rounds in a strait magazine? Or rather, if the curve of the magazine is smaller than what would be naturally required by the rounds.

Thanks. But I was looking over the calculator and realized that for the pressure I was using there was just too much spare space in the case. So I decided to make it just a bit flatter. I lost something like 2 grain of capacity which still puts me well above the load the calculator suggests. And my case angle went from 3.3 degrees to under 1 degree.
Purpelia does not reflect my actual world views. In fact, the vast majority of Purpelian cannon is meant to shock and thus deliberately insane. I just like playing with the idea of a country of madmen utterly convinced that everyone else are the barbarians. So play along or not but don't ever think it's for real.

Okay, I just scrolled back through the thread to last night with Corda's "Return" and I gotta say; that "dick twatter" is petty as fuck.

It's like an explosion of the 'tardening' happened within some people at the same time as Cordas' return.

lel, keymod is nice for riffles, but it's not super practical on a pistol.

I figured if they need to saw things, they'd have a saw somewhere nearby. Were sawbacks even a thing before and around 1940?

Here is a question for the gunpowder inclined. A thought that can not leave my mind. We know that feeding from the side is bad. It unbalances the gun which is sad. But what if it was used in a way where balance matters not? What I mean by this is simple. You take a bullpup rifle and try to make a magazine fed SAW conversion. The problem you quickly hit is that drums and other high capacity magazines suck when you need to load them in a bullpup from the bottom. So how problematic would it be if I converted the SAW to feed from the side using drums? I could easily make the weapon accept magazines on either side at will and eject out the front. And balance is really not that big a deal if you are only trying to suppress.

Share your thoughts.

Because sideloading from a bullpup is literally the most non-ambidextrous idea in the universe.

Looking at images of them being held I can see how you could stick a long magazine out the side without too much problems.

For example, look at this picture from Wikipedia of the FAMAS. Notice how if you stuck a magazine where the ejection port was and had forward ejection you'd be perfectly fine. Same goes for the L85

These things were mostly issued to pioneers, MG troops and such that needed to do field work but were not expected to actually go and chop down trees. And for such light work I imagine a hand saw (which this effectively is) would prove more effective than something larger. You use the big two man saws to cut the tree down and one of these to trim the branches and stuff off before assembling your bunker.
