The powered helmets worn by the Mechanocracy's infantry units are made from a nano-forged durasteel shell. Although it cannot repulse a modern flechette round or a laser/plasma bolt, it provides almost complete immunity to shrapnel and low-grade munitions such as buckshot and 9x19mm Parabellum rounds, and is also reasonably resistant to MT and early-PMT rifle rounds. Plastic polymer padding also protects the wearer against fire-based attacks, and also serves as a very limited defence against energy weapons. The helmet also houses the power source for the rest of the armour - a small microfusion battery embedded into the back of the helmet.

The eyes in the helmet are not actually eye slits, but cameras, providing live data to a heads-up display in the interior. The cameras have night, thermal and ultraviolet vision embedded into them, as well as a mine detector hooked up to a tiny sensor located between the cameras. An acoustic sniper detector is placed in a socket where the right ear should be, linked to a ballistics computer which can trace the path of a bullet right back to its shooter. The mouthpiece is linked to a radio which allows the wearer to communicate with the other members of their squad, with squad leaders having a direct link to their platoon commander.

Each helmet is also connected to its own server, and not linked to a main server (this does not encompass comms, which have to be on a main server). This is to protect the squad against hackers, who are prevalent on the modern battlefields; where a hacker might be able to literally knock out the entire squad with just a computer on a main server-based system, they may only take one server - and therefore one soldier - offline at a single time, forcing the hacker to pick and choose.

Fatatatutian infantrymen are issued with kevlar helmets but they are typically worn only in "hot" situations - i.e. when there are believed to be hostiles in the vicinity. Since Fatatatutti is a peaceful nation, such situations are only simulated during exercises. Otherwise, the beret is worn and the helmet is more useful as a water bucket and/or camp stool.

Peacekeepers are more likely to wear their helmets on a day-to-day basis, though Fatatatutti doesn't normally send peacekeepers where there is constant danger of hostilities erupting.

Marines on duty guarding our foreign supply bases seldom wear their helmets.

Tank crews wear a padded helmet designed to protect them from the inside of the tank rather than from enemy projectiles.

Pilots in a combat zone wear a kevlar crash helmet with incorporated earphones and microphone.

Solokov Type 38 Assault Helmet

This helmet is made from light weight nano infused titanium and kevlar. It comes with Enhanced Vision Goggles, which have a built in HUD and Motion sensor as well as giving the user the ability to see in Night Vision, Thermal Vision and Ultra Violet Vision. The respirator is also made of nano fibers allowing the user to breathe easily whilst filtering out any impurities and can also provide the user with an hours worth of air if under water or other vacuum. The helmet also has a built in radio.

our heads aren't shaped well enough for helmets.
This place is not a place of honor... no highly esteemed deed is commemorated here... nothing valued is here. What is here was dangerous and repulsive to us.
The danger is in a particular location... it increases towards a center... the center of danger is here... of a particular size and shape, and below us.
The danger is still present, in your time, as it was in ours. The danger is to the body, and it can kill. The form of the danger is an emanation of energy.
The danger is unleashed only if you substantially disturb this place physically. This place is best shunned and left uninhabited.

We have many different battle helmets, but this seems to be the main one for anyone above a "light soldier"
Image
Here in Davinhia, we find other nation's helmet and armour design too inefficient. That's why we created the "H series" helmets, and the helmet shown here is a slightly outdated H-4, with Admentium plating, and hyper-glass, which won't break.
It's weight is compressed to about 14 kilograms, and is partially weightless for the wearer.

The pickelhaube is our main combat helmet, although it is beginning to be replaced by the M56 Stahlhelm (the RL East German version, resembles a Soviet SSh-40 helmet but is actually based on a rejected German design from 1942).

So do we, but ours are usually worn with a feldgrau canvas cover with the regimental number sewn or stenciled in green.
