The Central Intelligence Committee is the main intelligence agency of the People's Republic of Bemberna.

It was established on the same day as Premier Delan Borcon was removed from his throne and the Central Executive Commission took power, and its first (and continuing) assignment was to pursue, and assassinate, the ex-dictator.

It succeeded the Royal Intelligence Service, inheriting many of the previous agency's staff (at least, those who had proven their loyalty during the Civil War) and occupying its headquarters in the City of Innsmouth.

Although it is classed as a military service, the CIC is an independent agency and reports directly to Commissioner Morran, who in turn reports directly to Matriarch Harloni. It largely operates with impunity, aside from specific assignments from the CEC, and has jurisdiction over matters both internal and external security.

It has quickly established a reputation as a ruthless organisation, and has already arrested a large number of SITs (Seditious Individuals and Terrorists, as the agency's woolly parlance describes their targets). It has yet to prove its efficacy, however; aside from its ongoing directive to weed out SITs and intercept foreign intelligence activities (a mission that has dubious benefits) it has yet to complete its first major task from the CEC - the arrest and execution of Premier Borcon.

For a country of Bemberna's size and economic strength, the CIC is thought to have a disproportionately large budget. The Central Executive Committee refuses to disclose what funds have been allocated to the CIC, but it is rumoured to be around $2 billion USD, or 5% of the entire defence budget.

Everything about the Central Intelligence Committee, aside from its leadership, is shrouded in secrecy. Little is known about its personnel, resources or even organisational structure. Harsh penalties exist for anybody attempting to learn more about it.

What little contact the populace has with the agency tends to be undesirable; when identified as a SIT, an individual is promptly taken away by CIC agents and rarely heard from again. The individual's family will usually receive a brief letter, expressing the agency's condolences that the family has been tarnished by their relation to a SIT and assuring them that the matter is being 'dealt with'.

The Empire's secret police is known as the Wa-Ni-Karsh. Their duty is to gather and maintain intelligence on citizens, subjects and foreign agents and their governments. The Wa-Ni-Karsh works closely with the supra-judiciary Office of the Examination.

Ubarian National Intelligence Service or UNIS for short, based in Athens, Greece but has numerous bases of operations, home and abroad. They have a numerous number of jobs, including but not limited too

Maintenance of national communications systems
Security of numerous government buildings.

They have a large amount of personell, the exact amount is undisclosed, some fall under command of the Armed Forces and Coastguard, they have a large amount of Field Agents as well as Administration and Intelligence staff. Their most notable operation was the arrest and subsequent imprisonment of some 30 Iranian Nationals, disguised as Embassy workers but were actually agents of the Iranian Security Agency. They were attempting to gather secrets on the Millitary strength on the Greek Islands and Eastern Turkey in preparation for the 2017 Invasion which went ahead anyway. They are currently serving a 20 Year sentance in an Aegean Island Prison camp.

The FIDA (Foreign Intelligence and Data Agency) has moderate secretive levels for sensitive information though hacking and releasing such info is only considered a misdemeanor. We do not spy on our citizens but we do spy on other nations we deem to be a risk to national security.

The Inteliigence Agency of Stormwrath (IAS) is based in Lao Beach, Maxwell. It is an independent agency, although it has ties with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Defense. The agency is divided into three branches: The Stormwrath Foreign Intelligence Agency, which handles all foreign intelligence, the Stormwrath Intelligence Committee, which handles all domestic intelligence, and the Lacono, which is so secret, not even the Parliament knows about their existence.
