You should have both, actually. SPGs can emplace and displace faster, but towed artillery can be quickly deployed by helicopter to locations that may be inaccessible (or not easily accessible) by road, as well as air-dropped to support airborne operations.

It's very handy. Does all the calculations for you.

Second, are there designs that are more effective you could recommend to me? Third, would it be feasible/reasonable to have an IFV/recon vehicle with two axles and eight wheels for better traction, or use wider tires? Fourth, are rounded turrets more effective for bouncing shots or are angled
turrets?

What cage armour is actually intended to do is either physically damage a HEAT warhead before it detonates, or force it to detonate outside its optimal "standoff distance" - the HEAT round generates a "jet" of material, and it needs to detonate a certain distance from the target to properly form. Too close and it won't correctly form, too far and it may lose energy and coherence.

What the hell is propellant length and overall length? It already lists case length and propellant length is around 3 meters for the default gun making me wonder what the hell it means since it isn't the length of the case or the entire catridge.

Cage armor is all basically the same. It works very well for stopping lightweight shoulder fired rockets. Kind of useless against everything else. For that purpose it is basically as good as it gets, alternatives are all much heavier/more expensive or both.
The question boils down to: What kind of weapons do you want to stop?
