I think the Merkava is a very good looking tank. Perhaps a little bit rubenesque but she wears it well.

I also like her jewelry that she wears on her turret. These chain thingies with balls hanging on them. Very pretty.

And probably very useful as well.

So my M41 Troubadour was developed in, you guessed it, 1941. Would it really serve any purpose going into the 21st century with it's new engine, transmission, ERA and 130mm gun?
It's one of my favorite vehicles of mine, so I would love it to have a purpose for as long as possible.

Like a heavy Gvozdika (a 122mm howitzer thrown onto an extended MT-LB chassis).

I'm not entirely certain, but I think your hull looks a bit short on height.

It uses a much fatter and longer KEP than the M829A1, yet the two have approximate projectile weights (A1 has 9kg projectile weight and 4.6kg penetrator weight). It can be assumed the M829A3 sabot is significantly lighter than that of the M829A1.

ATK doesn't list the weight of the penetrator itself, unlike for the M829A1 - which featured a sabot weighing almost as much as its own penetrator (4.4kg versus 4.6kg penetrator).

In the 20 or so years between them, novel and lightweight sabot designs have been thrown about. Sabot mass is probably much closer to, if not below, the 2kg mark these days.

I was thinking something of the sort. I saw footage of the Syrian Army using it as such and I fell in love with the idea.

GIMP. Use multiply, pencil tool set to 1, and liberal use of layers and white.

NotMBT70 with L2A4 flat turret front and L2A6 gun, use that as an older tank.

With trying new things I didn't mean that the vehicle is new but that you are creative with making your designs. They have a unique quality and are not like everybody else's.
