In the kingdom of Feravia any traitors are shipped off to prison.

In general, those accused of treason get life in prison or executed.

Depending on how serious their crimes are.

Some will be sent to prison, others will be executed.

Prison. We don't practise the death penalty here.

Either you go to a prison-mine in the mountains, where you will work for your lifetime, or we will throw you far away in the deep sea with nothing more than the clothes you are wearing. the latter is more of a "don't fuck with us" thing and it's not really meant to kill, but if the traitor is found to have returned, he is executed by firing squad.

Our nation doesn't deal with traitors; only the states do individually. Betraying one's own state is a statement of abjuration, and the traitor is asked to move to another state.

Officially, they are to be melted down. However, the value of bravery and gallantly battling one's foes is so ingrained that very few traitors will ever surrender to be taken to the foundry. Instead, they fight to the death against our troops right in the street, and when we're done dealing with them, they look something like this, only far more blaster-burned:

Depends on the severity. It could be revoking a security clearance and a fine, prison/brig, or the airlock.

We hang them.

Since treason usually falls under a Tier-3 category, they are executed, but only after a final verdict was given during a trial process. While the process should be straightforward, there are many loopholes to avoid execution and one could involve deportation and nullification of citizenship.

In Nyte, treason is punishable by death. The traitor IS given the choice of deciding how their death is to be carried out (but all of the choices are violent and/or painful in one way or another).

Firing squads.

Depending on the treason, they may be deported to a nation in our region equivalent to Hell on Earth. The Firing Squad is too quick a death for them.

They are publicly executed as all civilized nations should.

It depends. If in wartime (although we've only had one war in the last 150 years) or if someone died as a result of their treason, it's a hanging offence followed by cremation as an after-death punishment, unless the traitor's religion calls for cremation in which case the traitor is hanged and buried in an unmarked grave. We don't get many traitors, but one who was hanged and cremated recently was an officer working in Witness Protection who betrayed a witness's new name and location to the Mafia. Not only was the witness murdered, but so was his wife and three daughters as a result.

If in peacetime with no deaths caused, it's a lengthy prison sentence, but this can be shortened in exchange for giving back one of our spies who was convicted in another country. But if the country he/she did treason for has noone to swap or chooses not to, then it's a 25 year prison sentence if the treason was severe, and 5 years in prison if only light damage was caused.

They are deported to a labour camp and killed via hanging, gassing or a firing squad.
