In the Undying Empire, citizens who commit acts of treason, or foreigners who commit equivalent acts, are sentenced to death. The method of death varies on the nature of treason but typically is either done through beheading or hanging (either dropping to break the neck, or raising to choke to death). Execution by burning and crucifixion is not unheard of, but usually reserved to punish the crimes of heresy. All executions are conducted publicly in front the Great Pyramid in Arys Ephyra to be witnessed by the crowds. Executions are often televised.

Treason is not a named offence in Minoa because it is ambiguous. For example, killing the Empress of Minoa is treated as murder, while seizing the government through violence, like the failed military coup in 2068, would be treated as a crime of aggression in line with Minoa’s ratification of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court.

Those who collude with unlawful polities to undermine the Mu'amalah and threaten the institutions of the Abode of Peace are guilty of the crime of irtidād ('apostasy') or fasad ('corruption'), and are no longer under protection of the law. There are four different kinds of treason in Mawchunk and they are all handled differently.

Lesser Treason is an act of betrayal that is performed accidentally or otherwise without malicious intent. An example would be fleeing from battle or accidentally compromising it's military security. This also includes most acts of treason committed for honorable or morally justifiable reasons. Lesser Traitors are tried in restorative courts and usually receive lenient sentences such as dismissal from their position (if a soldier or bureaucrat) or community service.

Greater Treason is a malicious act that threatens the security or sovereignty if Mawchunk. This could include a conspiring to have a foreign power annex the nation or attempting to restore capitalism. Courts rarely pursue charges of Greater Treason unless it's an open-shut case and the traitor is usually shot immediately after the verdict is handed down.

Social Treason tends to be a civil matter, rather than criminal. A social traitor is one who uses a position of authority to exploit and dominate others. Punishment is usually exile from a commune, purge from the Socialist Party or blacklisting from positions of authority. Social treason is no longer punished very often and shows up more in General Assembly polemics than court documents. NOTE: Black Army rebels disagree with the government position on social treason. They have been known to kidnap and lame (with a bullet in the knee) or kill alleged traitors, such as corrupt union bosses or bureaucrats.

Treason of Conscience is the act of leaking sensitive material that reveals corruption or abuse on the part of the government. These acts of betrayal aren't considered illegal.

Most commonly those deemed to be traitors are executed by firing squad.

Well, first of all, we first make them listen to the worst rock band in the region, for 17 hours, and while that's happening, a fire will be lit under the chair where they are strapped in. Which is metal. Eventually, after 2 hours of that, we take them outside to be met with a few dozen Purple Phoenixes, where they will eat most of the flesh off of their legs. After, we take them to the water, where they are set alight by Pyro flamethrowers as they get thrown into the ocean. The water won't extinguish the fire even if they tried. So they will burn while in the water. Beautiful irony, isn't it?

Generally traitors are placed in prison for life. If the act of treason resulted in the death of others the judge can petition the Prime Minster for the death penalty. Since the nation's inception this has yet to happen.

It depends on several factors. How high is the level of treason? Did he/she try to murder me or someone from my government? Then it's a life-long prison sentence. Minor treason offences result in limited jailtime or being banned from the Kingdom. The latter one always if a foreigner conducts them. In case of really high treason also capital punishment can be the verdict.

There is no death penalty in Albrenia, but those guilty of the highest level crimes (treason included) spend the rest of their lives in the maximum security prison which sits on Eln Island.

Treason is a capital offence in West Phoenicia. Death penalty for anyone found guilty of treason whether peace time or war time.

Treason is punishable in Kenmoria by life imprisonment with parole in forty years. This makes it the second most punished crime in the nation, after mass murder.

Despite being progressive in its criminal justice system with fair trials, the method of execution in gruesome and regressive. It's called "execution by bungee jumping" and is done basically in the same way as someone is about to bungee jump. The traitor will be strapped in and pushed over a cliff. The difference here is that instead of the material being out of rope, which increases the time and thus less force, the rope is solid steel. So when the steel rod is too long, the force will be very strong because the steel will not stretch. Because of this, the body is ripped apart and all bones are broken.

Manevi citizens that are found guilty of treason are subject to life imprisonment at the minimum. If their treasonous act has resulted in severe security compromises or large-scale death of Manevi citizens, they will be sentenced to death by hanging, if the escorting guards can manage not to beat them to death on the way to the noose. Executed traitors are buried in an unmarked mass grave.
