It's basically all in the name:

Anime - cute animation style that looks good.
Girl - if you aren't interested in this, you are either too young, not male or both.
Gun - this is the gun thread, so it figures we would have an interest in guns.

Thus anime + girl + gun = interesting

Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. I, for one, don't see why people make such a big deal over anime style art. However, all points are valid.

I thought this was the infantry thread...

If werewolves can be discussed, I don't see anime girls with guns being any different.

I was rather referring to the art style of anime (I personally don't see why everyone fusses about anime or manga style art). I'm cool with catgirl etc infantry.

Edit: Guns guns guns.
Here's some oldies that I've designed a few months back for a game I was making. Didn't end up happening, however.

All of these are caseless, but all of 'em do have ejector ports to clear jams and whatnot. Most are bullpup, barring the hand guns (obviously) and the shotgun, which is tube-fed.

Reposting 'cause these were bottompaged a few pages ago, then promptly forgotten about.

Out of curiosity why not? For some context, the discussion in question was about the practicality of using them in modern warfare, the combat tactics for them and against them and stuff like that. As in, it was actually more topic related than half the stuff we do here.

Also, I am going to announce something. I am working on a scripted pair of models to model my armies uniforms. What does scripted mean? Well you will see. But for now, just expect that you will see my uniforms soon enough.

My military police are basically just regular infantry soldiers who aren't #Hardcore#Oper8r enough to see frontline service, but are too stupid to do anything useful in the rearlines, obviously.

My MP's are similar. Except they're more hardcore oper8r's than frontline strictly requires, yet more stupid than can be tolerated at the front, so they're given guns, made useful, and told to guard slash control traffic.

If I use MP's as the primary form of law enforcement as well as border guard, what should armament's consist of? I'm thinking Carbines with GPMG's for checkpoints and the occasional Light AT weapon.

My logic filter will not process this, so I'll skip to the part about border guards. Are you hostile with your neighbors? Do you have smuggling issues? Do you even need fortified checkpoints? I get that everyone in NS wants to be "Fortress <NationName>" but its really just sort of dumb.

But if you can justify it, arm them like you arm your soldiers, carbines make sense, as do mounted weapons. The AT weapons might be stretching it, but a heaver caliber rifle for dealing with people in vehicles (I think that's what both .50 AE and .50 Beowolf were deigned for), would make sense, as would some sort of grenade launcher, be it under barrel or stand alone.

More importantly, radios. Constant contact with roaming patrols and response forces, if such a thing is necessary, is far more important than building fortress Europe on your border. Probably more cost effective too.

You're right though, civilian-market technology has never had a place in militaries.

Just because one military ended up adopting them (and a relatively obscure military at that) doesn't mean they are the best technology for military use.

I never said that. I said that I'd rather have the military version of an already developed weapons technology than a civilian version which has been known to have serious problems. Don't twist my words to find an argument.

You said it was developed by the civilian market, and therefore mall ninja. My deductive reasoning skills, after having read this statement, makes me assume you then consider anything on the civilian market to be mall ninja, just like bumpfire stocks. I was simply stating that plenty of military-used items started on the civilian market. Likewise, many civilian items started in the military market. The origins of something aren't what decides whether it's good or not. Whether or not it's a piece of shit does, though. We already know the AK quad-stacks are good-to-go, at least the 50-round version. As for SureFires, I don't care enough to actually check beyond the fact I know their follower design is needlessly complex. MagPul started on the civilian market, as well, so does that mean their products are simply for mall ninjas?

My Military police (have no name for them as yet) Are a National guard like entity, they are broken up by province then region and are tasked with law enforcement, border guard, and government property protection.
check Points only exist in a few locations, namely Into and out of government facilities, inter-province borders, and national borders.

As for armament I'm working on said carbine/PDW right now, figuring select fire in a subsonic close range cartridge (something not unlike 9X39 or .300 blackout,) and yes it will be the standard PDW type weapon issued to the military, the GPMG's will likely be older models from military use (again National guard sort of equipment here) Grenade launcher is probably more in line than the light AT weapon in most cases.
as for the anti-vehicle armament what level of firepower would be appropriate, the GL would be good but at the same time not effective for taking someone alive.

I don't feel like there's enough in his initial post to make such a sweeping generalization about how he must feel about all technology developed for civilian markets.
