If your magazine pouches are a snug fit (as they should be), it's probably a nag risk. They're nifty, no question.

Even better idea: use regular magazines because it means more rounds on your person.

Quad-stacked AK-74 magazine is the same width as about two 30-round magazines and a tiny bit taller. However, for the same width/depth on chest gear, you could have two 30-round magazines that hold 60 rounds. 60 is ten more than 50.

Worried about initial contact and magazine capacity? Obtain electrical tape; pair magazines.

What do you guys think of the coupling studs found on some magazines? Good idea, or just another thing to snag the magazine on?

Spree has a good point, Though bullpups are supposedly somewhat uncomfortable with longer mags hence my use of caskets

Coupling studs aren't bad but field expedient methods work too. there really isn't that much to snag especially if done right.

and my own question thoughts on ranger plates/ Mag Pulls on the bottom of mags y/N?

IMO, just tacticool shit.
It has a benefit, but is that benefit useful compared to the minute cost of issuing/buying them personally?

Almost certainly not.

I hate ranger plates. I tried to seat an AR magazine in a 6920 that had a ranger plate on it: attempted doing so on a closed bolt as I was throwing the rifle in my Jeep for transport immediately afterward. The rubbery ranger plate was cushioning my hand when I tried to slap-seat the magazine. Never got it to seat, so I said, "screw this" and just seated a regular USGI magazine in the rifle for transport.

I'm assuming this would happen if you ever tried to switch magazines before running empty (putting a fresh magazine in a chambered rifle before entering a house or whatever).

MagPuls and Ranger Plates are 2tactical4me.

What's the difference between a ranger plate and a magpul?

Magpul is a little rubbery slide on the ranger plate replaces the magazines bottom plate and does pretty much the same thing

@spree I thought so I see it as a gimmick and nothing more Magpul does make pretty good products but the magpulls themselves are stupid.

So, seventy years ago, give or take maybe five minutes, Lieutenant Herbert Denham Brotheridge of D Coy, 2nd Battalion The Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry, was shot by a German machine gun, and would become the first allied soldier to be killed by the Germans on D Day. As of now, it's actually the 70th Anniversary of D Day, as from 0016hrs there were British paratroopers fighting Germans for control of bridges in France.

(not the first to die, though - a JNCO drowned after being knocked unconscious and falling into a pond while landing)

I think were forgetting there are both 50 and 60 round quadstacked magazines that weigh less than two, but are slightly larger.

The 60 rounder will fit in a standard vest, the 50 rounder will as well but will not allow a second magazine to be fitted in.

The 50 rounders made it to low rate production and the 60 rounders made it to prototypical and pre-production phase. This was due to weight concerns.

Know what's even better than trying to loop your finger through a MagPul or pinch a rubbery Ranger Plate on the run?

Notice how you can just grab the magazine itself because the chest rig is properly designed for AR magazines. Sure beats this: http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/ctd_imag ... RR-009.jpg

That looks like a cluster fuck just waiting to happen. And the moment you remove any mags it becomes useless.

Purpelia does not reflect my actual world views. In fact, the vast majority of Purpelian cannon is meant to shock and thus deliberately insane. I just like playing with the idea of a country of madmen utterly convinced that everyone else are the barbarians. So play along or not but don't ever think it's for real.

It's basically all in the name:

Anime - cute animation style that looks good.
Girl - if you aren't interested in this, you are either too young, not male or both.
Gun - this is the gun thread, so it figures we would have an interest in guns.

Thus anime + girl + gun = interesting
