Nonsense. I'll have you know that I have newer in my life fired a rifle. I have newer held a firearm in my hand. In fact, I have not even seen one in person ever except inside a holster so that I could not see much at all. That surely makes me the dominant expert on these things. :p

So talking about ballock daggers in finally got around to attempting a drawing of the first Crookfur bayonnet, a ballock dagger/transitional dirk based plug bayonnet.

The pommel unscrews to allow the hilt to shoved down a musket barrel.

It was first produced in the 1670s and served right upto the introduction of the standardised Musket pattern of 1735 although some users had transitioned to socket bayonnets in the 1700s.

If you don't mind me saying. I think that there would be an issue with the shape of the handle. Since it is not strait, it's not exactly going to fit properly inside a musket barrel. So either you are going to get a very shallow mount or a not very snug one.

To honest its a kind of mix of various plug bayonnet grips some of which are very tapered and some quite narrow with a sharper "swelling"/taper close the guard.

IIRC the taper tended to be done to account for different calibres of firearm.

That sounds just haphazard and insanely unsafe enough to be historically accurate...
